Author's POV:

Taehyung stood in front of the King, the entire media watching. He gained the position of King and signed the necessary papers.

The Queen had now become the Queen's mother. You both were still young yet you were now the leads of the royal family.
Jungkook smiled at his brother as you wiped your tears. The Queen was depressed but she still was happy that finally, the ruler was a just person. Her son.

The ceremony soon came to an end and many people were invited. Most didn't come due to the rumours spreading against the King.
Your parents did come through. You all were now in a royal dinner.

Taehyung was shifted to the King's chamber which was being renovated for you both. He ordered for the King and Queen's chamber to be together. Unlike the previous King, he was obsessed with his wife.

—Time skip

You smiled at Taehyung, fixing his royal suit as he looked at you, "You look beautiful."
Yes, you did. And so did he.

It was sudden and unprepared for you both to be the King and the Queen consort. But you were ready for these obstacles with him.

Taehyung kissed your lips and said, "You're my Queen and I'm your King, okay?"
"Of course." You smiled.

He looked at the maids giggling nearby and said, "Prepare everything. We're done."
He smiled at you as soon as he saw the maids go away.
"Let's go." You said but he held your hand, frowning.
"What?" You asked.
"We're not done."
"No way.."

He kissed you as you gasped, "My lipstick!"
Licking your lips, he pecked them a few times but backed away when the maids returned. He made the same cold pose and walked out of the room, glancing at you once. You stood there, smiling shyly but further cleared your throat, fixed your dress and walked out.

You didn't want to apply lipstick anymore.

The gathering and announcement were over. Now, it all was done.

He was the King. You were the Queen.

The King would divorce the Queen and move away from the palace voluntarily. The Queen had been awarded the title of Queen mother now.

Maybe things could've taken better turns but the King and the Queen would be better off separately.

You sat on the bed, looking at the ceiling. A sigh escaped your lips.

The days would go busy now.

—A week later

"My Queen," Taehyung whispered as you smiled, looking at him. He had been busy the whole week, and you spent a few hours together. You missed him, but you couldn't do anything about it.
"I'm sorry... I had been meeting people and political stuff drained me... I missed you, love." He spoke again as you got out of bed. It was 3 am and you knew he was sleepy.

You hugged him, sniffing his scent and felt him hug you back, placing a soft peck on your head.
"You sound tired."
"I barely slept."
Your hold around him tightened as you realized how long a week felt. Sometimes, even days felt like years when you were away from someone you loved and were used to being with.
"You know it's really cold these days. You should wear warmer." You said as he smiled, humming.
"Look at yourself first." He remarked.

"Let's sleep, come." You said, holding his hand and walking towards the bed under the dim light. You didn't even see his face properly but as you both came closer to the bed, sitting down, his face became clearer due to the lamp nearby.
He seemed tired but he was staring at you quite attentively. Like he always did.

You got up on the bed and opened your arms for him. He smiled a little, looking away but resting his head on your lap instead.
"What?" You asked as he said, "Sing me to sleep."
"You're better at singing than me. Why make me sing?"
"I want you to sing." He whispered, holding your hand. You caressed his hair and nodded.
You thought about it and smiled, remembering a song.

And a smile immediately appeared on his beautiful face when you started singing in your mellow voice.
'I would never fall in love again... until I found her. I said I would never fall unless it's you I fall into...' You sang slowly as Taehyung realized he should've been the one singing it to you instead. But either way, it was fine.
A few minutes later, as you were done, you saw him fast asleep and pressed a soft kiss on his forehead.
"You're a hard worker. I hope... you get enough rest too." You whispered and leaned against the bedboard, closing your eyes.

—Next day

"Mina." You smiled at your best friend who had a soft smile on her face. She looked so beautiful.
"Now my bestie's a queen, huh?" She asked as you chuckled, "Of course. But I'm still your bestie okay?"
"Tch, that's a question?"

You both chatted for some time in the room beside the backyard as the begonias came into your view often. Every time they did, someone else's face popped up as well. Where was he?
"Where's Prince Jungkook?" Mina asked as you replied, "Probably... horse riding? I'm not sure."
She nodded as you asked, "Why? What's wrong?"
"I think... I might be in trouble."
"What?"

"The past few months... you know I and Jungkook have been friends... but we've been really good friends. Sharing secrets, comforting each other and... having fun and we even went to hangouts you know. But he feels more special than he should." Mina's statement made you look down. You smiled and looked at her, "So that's why I see Jungkook smiling and often at his phone and checking himself 500 times before exiting the palace. Tch... you idiots."
Mina's face seemed quite astonished but you decided not to say further. They could figure out their story themselves.

"Ah... whatever! Leave it!" She said as you smiled, nodding.
"Is the King busy?"
"Taehyung?" She nodded as you sighed, "A lot... he came last night though. I feel bad for him."
"Isn't it hard?"
"Sort of.." You looked at the begonias, "But... I still really love him a lot to be upset. I'm fine even if he meets me like once a week 'cause he's busy."
"I'm sure he's trustworthy. You've got an eye for good things."
"I know right."

You sounded sad and indeed were.

—On the other hand

"Yes, of course," Taehyung said and cut the call with some minister. He looked at the time and sighed, he wanted to eat lunch with you.
"Your Highness, there's a visitor." Taehyung sighed. He really... needed a break.
"I'll come back later. Tell the visitor to wait."
He ran outside and went to your bedroom but not finding you there was a disappointment.
"Where could she be... oh."
The garden.

He smiled and walked towards the backyard room when he heard your voice, "But... I still really love him a lot to be upset. I'm fine even if he meets me like once a week 'cause he's busy."

For some reason, he felt a pang in his chest hearing that. He gulped and waited, not wanting to barge in. Hearing some silence, he gestured for the maids nearby to move away. He opened the door and saw your startled face. beside you was Mina.

Both of you got up as Mina bowed, looking quite startled.
"You're here? Aren't you busy..."
"I'm not." He frowned and walked towards you. Mina bowed and left the room as Taehyung stared at you, sadness visible in his eyes.
"What's wrong?" You asked.

He shook his head and hugged you, sighing.
"I miss you so much. I love you the most." He whispered as you frowned a little.
"Are you okay?"
He didn't reply, he closed his eyes, resting in your embrace. He pulled away and smiled, cupping your cheeks.
"Woah, your hands are so cold." You hissed as he chuckled, placing his lips on yours. You seemed a little startled but smiled, kissing him back.
"I'm sorry. I broke the record of kissing you every day. I'm restarting it."

"What.." You laughed as he said, "What? I'm being honest."
"Sure."

"Let's have lunch together." He said. You thinned your lips, "Mina's here."
"With them, then?"
"Sure."

You all soon proceeded to have lunch. Taehyung went away for some time and you wondered if he'd take a long time but surprisingly he came back within 10 minutes.
He intertwined his fingers with yours.
"You're supposed to sit on that big chair. Not beside me."
"Who cares? I belong to you, not royalty."

"We all know you belong to royalty." You rolled your eyes as he frowned, shifting even closer to you. Jungkook and Mina were looking at each other awkwardly and then at you both, smiles on their faces.
The Queen Mother arrived as you all greeted her.
"Being a King at an early age has its disadvantages." The Queen Mother said.
"No, mother. You mean, being in love has its disadvantages." Jungkook corrected as Taehyung rolled his eyes. You smiled and continued eating as Mina was enjoying the scene.

—At night

"Why are you sticking to me today?" You asked as Taehyung frowned, "You don't like it?"
"No, I mean... that's weird. You had a lot of meetings today."
"I cancelled them."
"What?" You gasped.

"Look, a King doesn't have many duties. What if I complete all political ones? I'll be a failed husband."
You sighed, "You're too strange for me to understand."
He smiled and lay on the bed, patting the spot beside him. You sighed and lay down, letting him hug you tightly. He buried his face in your neck as you played with his hair.
He left soft kisses on your neck and jawline as you closed your eyes, gasping a little.

"Did I act too distant?"
"No?" You frowned as he looked down, "Let's go horse riding tomorrow. I'll teach you a new song on the piano too. Well, I can teach you how to paint too."
"Alright." You said.
"But for now..." He spoke, a small smile on his face. A mischievous one. He suddenly hovered over you and said, "I should make up for the past week, right?"
"How?" You asked, letting out a chuckling gasp. As he winked at you, pulling the duvet over you both.

—1 month later

You sighed, feeling nauseous for the 5th time this day. You already had weird symptoms these days like stomach cramps and late periods. You called the doctor and she was in the palace now, checking on you.

She looked a bit worried but smiled, "Well... I have predictions, your Highness but... I'll tell you the correct reports later."
She smiled as you nodded, worriedly. You had a strange feeling that this was going to be... something big.

Taehyung came inside worriedly as the doctor greeted him and left the cabin. He sat in front of you, asking, "Are you okay? What did she say?"
"Uh... I have a doubt."
He looked confused, "This is just my doubt, okay?"
"What if... I'm pregnant?" You asked as he stared at you, no words escaping his lips. He sat still like a statue as you said those words.
"I..." He gulped, looking at you worriedly.
"Do you think you are?"
"Sort of... I'm not sure."
"Then... what? We'd have a kid... and a family of our own." He seemed happy but for some reason, he seemed quite dazed too.

"Are you okay?" You asked as he smiled, hugging you. He pressed a kiss on your forehead, "I don't know... it feels like a dream to think about it."
You smiled.

Following that night, you got a call from the doctor and guess what?

You were 2 weeks pregnant.

It felt dreamy though. As if everything was a strange happening, a vivid imagination or some other-worldly situation. You loved every moment of it.
Tears escaped your eyes as you stared at yourself in the mirror, holding your tummy. Taehyung should know.

You quickly walked out and called Taehyung to the garden. You prepared 3 pieces of paper and hid them behind your back.

Not much later, he was in the backyard, worriedly staring at you.
"What's wrong?" He asked as you pretended to look sad, "I have something to say."
"Yes?" He asked. He thought that something must've happened or the doctor might've called, seeing your sad expression.

You gulped, seeing the worry on his face and took out the papers, showing him the first one.
"Read it out." You whispered.
"We." He spoke and continued as you flipped the pages.
"Are..."
"Preg...nant." He completed and looked at you, gasping.
"Y/N." He said as you grinned, "Guess that's not a dream anymore."

He let out a shaky breath, holding his forehead. You gasped when you saw him shake. He was crying.

"Tae..."
He crouched down and held your hand, pressing a long kiss. He held your belly and asked, "Here?"
"Yes.." You looked at him, and he pressed a soft kiss on your belly and whispered, "Welcome, little angel."

You helped him get up and hugged him tightly as he whispered, "I swear... I'll take care of you both... I'll protect you, okay? It'll become the best husband and father that I could ever be."
You caressed his hair and nodded, "I promise I'll be the best I can be for you and our baby too." You said.

"I love you so much." He whispered as you smiled, pressing a kiss on his lips, "I love you more."

And that was another start,

Because surprisingly, every chapter started in this very garden of begonias.

And with the begonias, were starting one of the happiest chapters of your life. With him, with your new kid.

And you knew, despite all ups and downs, this new chapter would be the best one.

The happily ever after
