prologue
It was considered frowned upon for a man to lie with a woman, but as the earth still needed to be populated, specific times throughout the year were set aside for 'mating season,' for lack of a better word. Otherwise, men loved men, and women loved women. It was just the way it had always been.
Lucius Malfoy and James Potter had always been business associates. So, when mating season came, the two vowed that, if by chance the two men bore sons, the sons would one day be wed.
Neither Lucius' husband, Severus, nor James' husband, Frank, were very fond of their lovers going out to consummate with the women, but it was only natural that the event would have to occur. And so, James went to his good friend Lily Evans, and together, they bore a son named Harry. Lucius went with the lovely Narcissa Black, and together they bore a son named Draco.
Around that time, Frank had also gone to his good friend Alice, and together they bore a son named Neville. As Harry was the first to be born, before Neville, he was the one to be betrothed to Draco.
Growing up, Lucius and James had tried their best to make sure that Harry and Draco spent as much time as possible together. As the pair grew older, however, it was obvious that the small children who used to play for hours together could no longer tolerate to be in the same room as one another, and the fathers grew nervous.
"What are we to do? Draco was promised to Harry, but your son hates mine. And vice versa. How can we put two men together, united by marriage, who hate each other?" Lucius fretted over tea with James one evening, to which the hazel-eyed man only sighed.
"I don't know what to do, Lucius, but we must make these two boys like each other again. Before anything else happens." James claimed, frowning as he thought of his eldest son.
"What happened?" Lucius was intrigued, and James could tell he was desperate for their sons' love to rekindle. Time was growing ever-so-nearer to when the two would officially become engaged.
"The other day while I was in Harry's room, I found a bundle of magazines under his bed. In those magazines were pictures of women in lingerie. Also, I've taken notice that he's been spending quite a bit of time with Neville's boyfriend's sister." James claimed, fear in his eyes.
"Oh no! You fear he's gone heterosexual?"
"There is a chance."
"This simply cannot do! I blame modern day education systems! Draco came home to me the other day holding a book about a heterosexual romance, to which he claimed was actually a heartbreakingly beautiful story." Lucius cried, reaching towards his feet for his briefcase.
He undid the clasps, and revealed a bright blue book. The cover revealed 'The Fault In Our Stars,' and James gasped.
"Since when did they let straight supporters write novels! This is absurd! I say burn that copy, and any copies you come across forth by this blasted John Green. And, allow your son to read true literature, such as 'Romeo and Julio.'" James exclaimed.
"I'm so ashamed of him. What if our sons turn out to be heterosexual? What if they enjoy mating season with the females? That's it, I'm taking away Draco's phone. James, I suggest you and I take our sons on a little vacation. You can of course bring Frank, as I will bring Severus." Lucius added as a thought. "We'll surround our sons with a completely homosexual atmosphere, have them spend as much time as possible together, and maybe by the end, they'll be gay for each other again."
"I might just have to agree. I'm sure their headmistress wouldn't mind the three boys missing a week or so of school." Harry, Draco, and Neville all attended a notorious private school in downtown London. The school was a co-ed school, to which they actually had dormitories. Their new Headmistress McGonagall had proven to be one of the nicest women the two men had ever met, after the unfortunate passing of Headmaster Dumbledore. The poor man had died of a heart attack.
"Of course I'll have to be sure Severus can take off of work, as this is a family vacation after all." Lucius stated moments later.
"I'm pretty sure I can get Frank off." James said, to which Lucius stared at him, a smirk on his face as he realized what he'd said. "You pervert! I meant work, honest."
"Sure." The blond man laughed, and then the two decided to talk lesser topics as they finished their tea. Come the weekend, the two families would be on their way to making their sons gay again.
