Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Percy

All nine of our swords clashed together at once, making a hollow ‘pang’ ring through the air. I could feel the immortals fighting with renewed strength. Perses slashed at me while Coeus tried to stab me in the stomach and Iapetus tried to decapitate me. I couldn’t block and dodge them all so I took Perses’ slash. He ended up slashing me in the leg. I heard Zoe cry out and she started to run forward to aid me but I summoned some water and created watery ropes. They started to restrain both campers and soldiers but I still saw Zoe struggle against my ropes. I could not let them get hurt. I wouldn’t let them get hurt. I could feel my crimson and gold blood ooze out of my wound. It hurt a little bit but it wasn’t the worst pain that I have been in. I just kept fighting. Finally, I spotted a weakness in Epimetheus’ defense. He would always use his left leg. He also never switched positions. I found an opening and I slashed downward on his left leg. Riptide was the sword that hit him. I had struck him so hard that when I pulled my sword out of his wound, I could see bone. Golden blood poured out like a waterfall. Epimetheus growled and limped toward me. I was still fighting the other 7 immortals though. Finally, Epimetheus tried to get revenge on me. When he thought that I was distracted, he brought his sword up to slash my chest. I dodged and in return, I stabbed him in the chest so hard that my sword came out of the other side of his body. You cannot believe how much blood came out. He roared in pain. I quickly got out my dagger with Chaos metal and slit his throat, causing him to fade. The other immortals took a step back. They looked at me with shock.

Then, once again, they all charged at me.

“What the heck?” I thought. “Why am I not using my powers?” I felt like the most stupid demigod alive and I probably was one of them. Of course, no one could be as stupid as Mark. He was the one that took the title: Mark Powell, Son of Poseidon and the most stupid person in the world. I smiled widely as I thought about that. I shook my head. I had to focus. Tartarus stabbed at me but I summoned some water and I solidified it. His sword shattered against my water. He looked flabbergasted. I almost started laughing at his expression. It was hilarious. Then, when Tartarus was still in shock, I unsheathed my knives and I stabbed Tartarus in the stomach. Then, I stabbed him in the chest multiple times. When I was satisfied, I stopped and turned my full attention on the other immortals.

I had 6 more of them to defeat. I started to form warriors out of water. They mimicked my movements and fought some of the titans so I could have a slight break. I didn’t like to fight multiple enemies at once. Now, I was just fighting Perses, the titan of destruction. He stabbed and I blocked him while sending a slash in return. He growled as my slash met its target. My strike hit him in his left side. These immortals had so much blood in their bodies. It was no wonder they looked so fat and heavy. Perses’ blood started to waterfall out of the wound.  He staggered forward, determined to defeat me. Weakly, Perses tried to disarm me but failed. I used that technique that I learned so many years ago: The disarming technique that Luke taught me when I was 12. With him weaponless, I slide one of my knives out of its sheath and stabbed Perses in the neck. I push the dagger so deep into his neck that the head became decapitated. Perses’ head bounced to the floor with his body. There was now almost a pond of golden blood and all of it had come from Perses. The headless body was-actually, never mind. You don’t want to know what it looked like. Well, it looked so bad and disgusting that I wanted to wretch. Thank Chaos that the body finally disintegrated but the head stayed where it was. I guess that it was a spoil of war.

Soon, I moved on to the other titans, defeating them one by one. Finally, after many slashes, stabs, rolls, dodges, and charges, there was only the titan Coeus. I guess he survived because he was smart. Our swords clashed together. I was determined to win. We fought for a couple of minutes. I only had a few scratches on me; no serious wounds but Coeus had 2 gashes on his left leg 3 gashes on his right, multiple chest wounds, and a long gash on his arm. Finally, the titan of intellect made his mistake, but it was my chance and I took it I quickly disarmed him and backed him up against a tree. I slowly drew my knives while keeping Coeus pinned to the tree. I was so intent on killing him, that I didn’t notice anyone coming up behind me until it was too late. I slit Coeus’ throat while getting stabbed in the side by a knife.

Soon I was on the ground, struggling to breathe. There was a hot feeling in my body and I now knew that the blade had poison on it. I saw a figure smirk at me but I couldn’t see their face clearly. I only got a glimpse of pig-like sea green eyes. Before I faded into darkness, I summoned a high pressured jet of water and I shot it at the figure’s face. My jet of water met it’s mark and slammed into the person’s face. I saw them stumble backwards before the world around me faded into darkness and I did not fight it.
