Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Percy
I awoke with a jolt. That was strange. I didn’t have any dreams last night. Mystified, I walked over to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I decided to not put my mask on anymore since everyone knew who I was. There was no use for it anymore.
Soon, I was stepping out of the door and breathing in the fresh Camp Half-Blood air. Immediately, I sensed that something was wrong. I looked over at the hill and I saw an army of monsters advancing. I water traveled to the conch horn and blew a blast of sound from it. Seconds later, Chaos’ army was out and ready. The campers took a few more minutes. I unsheathed Riptide and my ice sword. By the time the campers were out, we were already fighting. I slashed down empousa one after another with my two blades. Dracanena started to swell forward after I had reduced the empousa to dust.
I slashed, rolled, dodged, stabbed, and sometimes stole the enemy’s weapons. In the corner of my eye, I saw Zoe shooting arrow after arrow at the enemy. The campers were doing okay but they were only taking down about one monster every minute. Chaos’ army was a different story. They hacked left and right, and were destroying anything in their path. A section of about 200 monsters disappeared within seconds. I wasn’t even using my powers. This was all sword work. As I slashed the last dracanena, I got a little glimpse of what stood behind the sea of monsters. (Title of the 2nd Percy Jackson book)Seven titans and the spirit Tartarus was hiding behind the crowd. I wanted to get this fight over with so I slashed through the monsters. Hacking here and there like a manic. Wait…I was a manic. My sword cut through them as if they were tissues and soon, all the monsters had turned into ash. There were huge amounts of yellow and grey powder everywhere and on everyone including me. There were also spoils of war: a claw of a monster here, a sword there. I couldn’t admire our work though. I briskly strolled up to the titans and Tartarus. They looked at us me with shock. Then they looked at my army. They hadn’t even broken a sweat. I was proud of them. I glanced back at the campers. They looked exhausted. Then, I turned my full attention back onto the titans and Tartarus. Once I got a clear look at their faces, I could see who they were. There was Oceanus (sea),Coeus (intellect), Crius (Heavenly constellations and the measure of the year), Iapetus (mortality and the allotment of the mortal life-span), Epimetheus (afterthought), Menoetius (violent anger and rash action), and lastly Perses (destruction). (The words in italics and in parenthesis are what the titans rule over and have control over.)
“It is very nice to meet you all,” I greeted them formally. “Except for you, Iapetus, as we have met before. I am curious, how did you get your memory back?” He just growled in response and I smiled.
“We will destroy your stupid camp, Jackson and we will destroy Olympus along with your stupid life!” Perses shouted, seeming to enjoy himself because he thought about destroying things in the future.
“Hey!” A stupid camper shouted. Guess who it was. The idiot was Mark. “It isn’t his camp!” He shouted. “I am the leader and I can beat you all.” If you haven’t figured out that over confidence, pride, and arrogance are his fatal flaws, then you are stupid like that Athena spawn. The titans looked at him. He tried to glare at them. The key word is tried. Mark couldn’t have scared anyone with that glare. As much as I wanted his to be killed, I wanted to do it myself so I wasn’t going to let the titans and Tartarus kill my brother for me.
Being the idiot that Mark was, he charged at the titans. I signaled for all the Chaos soldiers and the campers to stay back. Then I sighed. I was going to save that useless life of my brother so I could kill him later. You might think that I was crazy but I was mad at that guy. He took everything that I cared about away from me and he was going to pay. I raised my ice sword and Riptide. I have decided to call my new sword Crustallum Tempestas for Ice Storm. I charged. I got to the titans before Mark even though he had a head start. The immortals’ blades clashed against mine. I sent a jet of water towards Mark and he actually had enough brain cells to know to back off and join the crowd of campers that were watching the fight from the top of the hill. I battled all 8 of the immortals at once, dodging their attacks and landing my own slashes and stabs at the enemy. Soon, I had injured all of them and I didn’t have a scratch on me. They tainted the grass gold with their immortal blood. They all had multiple slashes on either the chest, leg, back, or stomach and soon backed up and stared at me in amazement with their blood still flowing out of their wounds. Then, without warning they charged at me again at the same time, but this time, they had a lot more power behind their attack.
