The Tournament
Aeria's POV
Today was the day. Today, we would reveal ourselves to the world. We would show them our true strength. Many people think that I am unbeatable, but they only saw my battles at the league. They don't know the year of hard training I would go through with my Pokemon, they don't know all the losses we suffered. Neither do they know that my demeanor is just a mask.
My Pokemon and I, we have suffered more than anyone would know, experienced more pain than anyone else. We all have had dark pasts. But we don't show it. I force myself to talk to others, sometimes I force smiles just to hide the turmoil inside me.
The thing is, Arvino had cut itself off from the rest of the world for a long time. Why, you may ask? We were at war, for a long time, we had no contact whatsoever with the outside world. Arvino was at war with itself. We ignored all that was going on outside, developed our own technology, for seven whole years. I experienced war at a young age. I know the pain of physical wounds, the pain of losing one's family, the emotional turmoil.
But now was not the time for reminiscing. I have a battle to win.
I heard my name called through the speakers, and smirked inwardly. The traitors wouldn't know what hit them.
"On the Red Platform, we have Iris Dracona, Opecluid City Gym Leader. On the Green Platform, a trainer who disappeared off the face of the world for ten years. Aeria Ventus! "
I walked out onto the battlefield with Drakeon on my shoulders, a blank expression on my face. Once I was on my platform, I swept my hood back. I saw Iris gasp when she saw my face, saw the traitors mutter worriedly among themselves.
So now they worry. Now they actually think of me as a threat. Should have known. They thought that just because I stuck with Ash, I was weak.
They would regret that decision. They would regret betraying Ash.
"This will be a three on three battle. The battle is over when all of one Trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Substitutions are allowed.Green Platform calls first! " The referee yelled.
"Dragalge, show her what a true Dragon is. "
"Haxorus, show them your strength. "
"Dragalge Vs Haxorus! Battle begin! "
"Haxorus, Dragon Claw! " Iris yelled, determined to score a hit first. Well, if she wants to score a hit, we'll give her a hit.
"Dragalge, take it. " Haxorus slammed into Dragalge and sent her flying. Iris smirked.
"Looks like I won. " She gloated.
I matched with a smirk of my own. "Not quite. "
Dragalge flipped over in the air and levitated in front of me. "Dragalge! " She cried, defiant, without a scratch.
"And a surprise comeback from Dragalge shows the extent of its training. " The commentator spoke into the microphone.
"How is that even possible? Dragon Type attacks are super effective on Dragon Types! " Iris gaped, then yelled. "Are you using some kind of drug? "
"I can assure you that my Pokemon have not been injected with drugs. And, this is the result of ten years of nonstop training. " I announced to the crowd. "Alright, Dragalge, let's finish this. Draco Meteor! "
Dragalge launched an orange ball of energy into the air, which split into many beams of energy, all heading towards Haxorus. They hit, exploding upon impact.
When the smoke cleared, Haxorus lay unmoving on the ground.
"Haxorus is unable to battle! Red Platform please send out your next Pokemon! "
"Altaria, your turn!" Iris sent out a golden, shimmering Altaria. The crowd gasped at the shiny Pokemon. "Keystone respond to my heart, Mega Evolve! "
Beams of light extended from both the Keystone and Mega Stone, connecting and engulfing both Trainer and Pokemon. Once it cleared, A Mega Altaria hovered where the Altaria had been.
So she had Mega Evolution. Well, so do I. "Dragalge, well done, but return for now. There's someone else who would like to take this battle. " I recalled Dragalge and retrieved another Pokeball. "Lucario, lend me your Aura! " My purple and black Lucario emerged, and got into a battle stance.
"And Aeria surprises us yet again with a special Lucario! " Sometimes I really hate the commentator.
"Keystone respond to my heart, link our Aura and Mega Evolve! " I lightly touched two fingers to my Keystone pendant.
After the light faded, a Mega Lucario stood where she was. "Aura Sphere! "
Lucario formed not one, but three Aura Spheres and launched them, straight towards Altaria. All three hit their mark, and Altaria crashed to the ground. When the smoke cleared, Altaria was back in her normal form and out cold.
"Altaria is unable to battle! Red Platform please send out your last Pokemon. "Hydreigon, it's all up to you! "
"Dreigon! " It's shrill cry sounded throughout the Arena.
"Lucario, you did well. Return. " I recalled Lucario. "Gallade, Battle stance! "
My Shiny Gallade burst out of his Pokeball and landed on the battlefield, glaring fiercely at the Hydreigon. "And this Shiny Gallade surprises us by possessing Intimidate! " I am really starting to hate the commentator now.
"Hydreigon, Tri Attack! "
"Counter! " Gallade leapt up the moment Hydreigon opened its mouths to charge the attack, and hit it five times, one to each head and two to the stomach. Hydreigon crashed, but weakly got up. "Finish him with Close Combat! " Gallade ran at an impossible speed to Hydreigon, delivered a series of punches and kicks, the ran back to his own side of the field. All other people saw, was a black and blue blur that charged to and from Hydreigon.
The dragon fainted on the spot. "Hydreigon is unable to battle! Aeria Ventus wins the match! "
I smirked and recalled Gallade, then walked back through the tunnel, completely ignoring the awed and shocked stares of the crowd and the Traitors.
I heard the commentator's voice over the speaker. "Next up, on Red Platform, a Trainer believed dead and gone, Ash Ketchum! "
