It has been a week since the Operation and the Emperor has requested that Nagato and Mutsu are tested for their states while fighting.

Nagato: I wonder why the Emperor has requested for us to see him at the testing grounds?

Mutsu: Maybe he wants to see how we fair in combat.

Nagato: **sighs** I guess we will find out when we reach the range.

They continue to walk to the range together and finally arrive and see the Emperor waiting for them.

Emperor Hirohito: Good, you are finally here.

Nagato and Mutsu: **bow**

Nagato: May I ask why you have called us to the range your majesty?

Emperor Hirohito: I would like to see how well you two fair in combat.

Nagato: Understood your majesty.

They follow the Emperor into the range and he walks up to the controls. An Shan is in charge of the controls.

An Shan: Nagato-san, you will be up first understood?

Nagato: **gulp** Y-yes.

An Shan: Good, the first test will be accuracy and range.

Nagato: Okay.

An Shan sets up the first target at about 11,000 yards away.

Emperor Hirohito: You may fire when ready Nagato. **smiles**

Nagato: R-right. **aims at the target**

She inhales and then exhales and fires her first shot. The round hits the target in the middle.

An Shan: Good, the next target will be at 13,000 yards.

She pulls the lever and the next target comes up at 13,000 yards. This time it's moving.

Nagato: You can do this me. **aims at the target**

She aims at the target and studies it's movement speed, calculating its speed to be seven knots. She waits for the target to come back around and fires a shot.

**BANG**

Emperor Hirohito: Good job, your next target will be at 21,600 yards and moving. You will multiple targets, I want you to use your secondary batteries okay?

Nagato: **gulp** Yes your majesty.

An Shan pulls up thirty targets at 21,600 yards that are moving and two that are stationary.

Emperor Hirohito: You may fire when you are ready.

Nagato: Understood your majesty. Secondaries, engage those targets!

Her secondary batteries come to life and aim and then open fire at the targets.

**BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG.....BANG....BANG BANG BANG**

Her batteries hit the targets with deadly accuracy, nailing all but four of the targets in the center in a minute.

Nagato: Secondaries cease!

Her secondary batteries cease fire and fall silent, their barrels smoking from the rapid firing of shells.

Emperor Hirohito: Good. Next target will be at 42,000 yards some will be moving and some will be stationary. You may fire when ready.

Nagato: Understood your majesty.

Ten targets come up at 42,000 yards and Nagato aims at the stationary ones first.

Nagato: **aiming** Fire!

**BANG**

Her salvo of eight Type 91 shells fly through the air after she elevates her turrets to 42,000 yards.

Nagato: Turret Alpha fire!

Emperor Hirohito: Good, next is speed.

Nagato: I can sail at 24.98 knots and I have a range of 9,850 miles at 16 knots.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood, radar?

Nagato: I have a Type 21 air search radar, two Type 13 early-warning radars, and two Type 22 surface-search radars.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood, armor?

Nagato: My deck armor is 207 mm or 8.1 inches thick. My turret armor is 280-460 mm or 11-18.1 inches thick. My Barbettes have 457 mm or 18 inches thick of armor.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood. Aircraft?

Nagato: I carry 3 Mitsubishi F1M bi-planes and each can carry two 60 kg or 132 pound bombs under the wings.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood, AA and AAA?

Nagato: I am armed with 4 x twin 127 mm (5 inch) DP guns and 98 x 25 mm (1 inch) AA guns.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood.

Nagato's results;

An Shan: Mutsu, you're up. First test is range and accuracy with main and secondary batteries.

Mutsu: O-o-okay.

She hops into the water as her rigging summons. She lands on the water and gets ready to fire.

An Shan: Your first target is at 11,000 yards.

The target comes up and she aims at the target.

Mutsu: **aiming** Fire.

An Shan: Next target will be at 13,000 yards and moving.

Emperor Hirohito: Fire when ready Mutsu. **smiles**

Mutsu: **smiles** Understood.

She fires at the target and hits it dead center.

Emperor Hirohito: Next target will be at 21,600 yards, some will be moving and some will be stationary. I want you to use your secondary batteries to destroy them okay?

Mutsu: Y-yes your majesty.

About thirty targets appear at 21,600 yards moving and five appear stationary.

Mutsu: **points her bell charm at the the targets** Secondaries fire at will!

Her secondary batteries come to life, aim, and then open fire at the targets. They also hit with deadly accuracy. Slightly better then Nagato's secondary batteries.

**BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG....BANG BANG....BANG...BANG BANG BANG BANG**

She destroys all but three of the targets within a minute.

Mutsu: S-secondaries cease!

Emperor Hirohito: Good, your next set of targets will be at 42,000 yards. Some will be moving and some will be stationary. Use your main batteries to take them out.

Ten targets come up at 42,000 yards, seven moving and three stationary. She aims at the targets and then fires a full salvo with her main batteries.

Mutsu: Third turret fire at those targets!

Emperor Hirohito: Good job Mutsu.

Mutsu: Thank you. **smiles**

Emperor Hirohito: Next is speed.

Mutsu: I can sail at 25.28 knots or 29.1 miles per hour. I have a range of 9,850 miles at 16 knots.

Emperor Hirohito: Okay, next is radar.

Mutsu: I am equipped with one Type 21 air search radar, two Type 13 early-warning radars, and two Type 22 surface-search radars.

Emperor Hirohito: Okay, next is Armor.

Mutsu: My deck armor is 207 mm or 8.1 inches thick, my turret armor is between 190-508 mm thick or 7.5-20 inches thick, and my Barbettes armor is 457 mm or 18 inches thick.

Emperor Hirohito: Okay, next test is aircraft.

Mutsu: I am armed with 3 MItsubishi F1M bi-planes that carry two 60 kg or two 132 pond bombs underneath the wings.

Emperor Hirohito: Understood, your finally test is AA and AAA.

Mutsu: I carry 4 x twin 12.7 cm DP guns and 10 x twin 25 mm (1 inch) AA guns.

After the Emperor shows them their results he takes them out to eat.

Emperor Hirohito: Are you girls hungry?

Nagato: Y-yes.

Emperor Hirohito: Then lets make a trip to the restaurant then.

Mutsu: Of course.

They walk to the restaurant and order Buns and Dumplings. Then they sit down and begin to chow down.

Emperor Hirohito: **wipes his mouth with a napkin** Do you girls like the food?

Nagato: Y-yes your majesty, thank you.

Mutsu: This food is strange but yet good. Thank you your majesty.

Emperor Hirohito: My pleasure.

Nagato: What will happen tomorrow?

Emperor Hirohito: Hmm, I'm not to sure. Most likely a patrol or two and maybe sinking a few of those mass produced ships that they occasionally send at us.

Nagato: They do that to gain more data for Project Orochi.

Emperor Hirohito: Then we need to find a way to prevent them from receiving data as we sink them.

Mutsu: Why don't we just lay down a minefield?

Emperor Hirohito: Just in case if we are on the retreat with them on our tails.

Mutsu: Okay.

Emperor Hirohito: Actually, we can lure them into the minefield because they won't suspect us to ever lay one down.

Nagato: So we lure them into the minefield like a trap?

Emperor Hirohito: Yes.

Mutsu: That isn't a bad idea.

Emperor Hirohito: Then we should prepare the sea mines we have storage underground then for tomorrow.

Nagato and Mutsu: Agreed.

They finish eatting and after they pay for the meal, they call it a day.
