CHAOS, THE BEGINNING.

❝Like cells develop and every breath you take, life is the most valuable thing you will ever have. It's the most important part of who you are and ever will be. A single life taken is an awful loss that you can never get back. Never give in to the pull of fate.❞ - Notes from the Book of Fate.

"HINDI AKO ang kalaban dito."
Saku narrowed his eyes and clenched his jaw as a wave of disgust swept over him. His lips curved into a scowl, accompanied by a string of scoffs that revealed his annoyance.
This only contributes to his interest. Why was Thanatos so desperate to be free?
What could be driving his ambition, and what price would be paid in the end? What will the cost be for all this?
Saku folded his arms, and his brows arched high in a confused manner as he looked at him.
"Well—" Just as he was gathering his opinions, a dramatic change came over the situation. A chilly rush of wind surged through the air, as if a hidden menace was approaching.
As they stood there, a sense of dread flowed over them, as if an unseen watcher was lurking just beyond their perception, anxiously awaiting their next move. This sensation pierced their entire being, echoing deep within their core.
It wasn't a chill that sent shivers down their spines; rather, it was something far more familiar, a connection that felt painfully personal.
From above, a voice said, "Aren't you just extremely adept at this, Thanatos? Hanggang salita ka lang talaga."
Hindi siya puwedeng magkamali. Kabisado niya ang boses na 'yon. Kilala niya kung sino'ng nagsalita.
A mysterious figure emerged from the deep forest above, perched smoothly on a sturdy tree branch as if one with the air that around him.
He carefully pushed down his cowl, revealing his gorgeous face. Wisps of white hair fell down, but as dark power swirled about him, it changed, turning the hair a flaming scarlet.
A deep, throbbing aura of black energy emanated from him, enveloping the place in a real sense of strength and doom.
Those scornful eyes.
The same smile was hidden in the darkness.
The identical face.
His face resembled a machine rather than a human.

Saku's lips quivered as he looked at him, a force tugging on his heart with each glance. Steeling himself, he clenched his fist, gathered his courage, and stepped forward, calling out, "Salvatore."
The boy's features had not changed with the passage of time. The young boy who had once found safety in his arms appeared before him, tall and distant, with an icy and unreadable look. Tears were no longer flowed; instead, a harsh quiet hung between them.
"What?" Salvatore's voice was frosty and angry, as he locked his attention on him. "Wala ka na bang ibang sasabihin, Kuya? Ni hindi mo ako tatanungin kung okay lang ako?"
He stood before him, his slanted eyes gleaming gold and silver, and a crack of thunder illuminated the right side of his face.
Saku gave him a sympathetic glance, his brow furrowing in concern as a small grin danced across his lips. Before him stood a younger version of himself, arms extended and appealing with foolish conviction.
"Sandali lang, Kuya! H'wag naman ganito... h'wag mo akong iwan."
In the darkest corners of his memories, a younger version of himself stretched a hand, pleading for help. But, as swiftly as it had appeared, the vision vanished, leaving Salvatore encircled by stifling darkness.
Alone in that chamber, the weight of solitude pressed down on him, becoming heavier with each passing instant.
Staying beside them only meant risking their safety. So he made the difficult decision to leave. He departed from his sister, Xandria, and from all of them.
We were just test subjects, the outcome of countless experiments, huh?
"Do you despise me that much?" Saku inquired quietly, his voice thick with sadness. "If that's all you want, just walk away and leave everyone else alone." He lowered his head, placed his palms against the cold floor, tears flowing down his cheeks and onto his glasses.
His shoulders trembled, weighed down by an invisible weight that felt far too enormous to bear. "What did I do to deserve this, after finally being welcomed into this family?"
If all you wanted was for him to appear ignorant or unimportant so that he could fit in with this family, he would oblige.
Her aunt chuckled quietly, her hand covering her mouth and narrowing her eyes playfully at him.
"You're quite the little monster," she teased, and a sly twinkle in her eye. "I suppose I can put you to good use."
"I apologize for being recognized as Madame's son. Hindi ko po gusto na kamuhian niyo," sabi niya habang lalo siyang yumuko.
Mula nang siya'y mapabilang sa pamilyang 'to, mayroong bumubulong sa kanya na may iba rito. Parang ang mga taong umampon sa kanya ay tila may ibang layunin — isang bagay na labis na hindi matanggap ng Tita niya.
"Napaka-ambisyoso mo!" sigaw nito habang lumapit at hinablot ang damit niya. "Ampon ka lang, bakit sa 'yo ibibigay ni Kuya ang lahat ng yaman niya? Ano na lang ang mangyayari sa kayamanan ko?"
Talaga bang ganito ang gusto niya? Na hindi siya maging bahagi ng pamilyang 'to? Nag-umpisang siyang magbago mula nang makita ang mga bagay na binibili ng ina ni Saku para sa kanya. He has all of the branded things—the PSP, the skateboard, his roller skates, and even the headphones.
It's as if he's drowning in their goods. But Saku is unable to shake the impression that this family is only using him.
No one wants to feel this way. He always feels like a by-product, as if his life has been shaped by previous blunders. It appears like no one in the world loves him, and what hurts the most is that his aunt sees him only as a tool.
"Hindi ko po alam," sabi ni Saku na agad napatingin sa kanyang paa na may kadena, napakagat na lamang siya sa labi. Ganito na lang ba kalalim ang kanyang galit? Dahil ba 'to sa kayamanan? Is money the only thing that matters anymore?
Hazel smiled tightly, her eyes flaming with fire as she made strong gestures towards him, each pointed motion matching the depth of her rage. "Hindi mo nga alam, kasi kinuha mo 'yung nararapat sa 'kin!"
What happened between us no longer concerns you. You were nothing but pawns in my big plan, Demigods! " She searched the room, her laughing reaching a hysterical pitch, embodying the character of a true villain.
"Baliw ka na," sabi ni Saku habang bahagyang tumayo. Nanginig ang buo niyang katawan, at bagamat ramdam niya ang bigat at panghihina, pinilit pa rin niyang itayo ang sarili.
Before him appeared a figure dressed in white, commonly referred to as a scientist in today's world. This person represented a family with deep roots in history; the Allard clan had long served as keepers of Craigsville Hospital, a history that had spanned generations. At least, that's what the news stated.
Or at least that's what they could have said. When you enter this place, you may expect it to feel normal.

However, the aroma of ethanol penetrated the air, becoming stronger with each step you went. It felt as if the environment itself thickened, wrapping around you like a heavy blanket of darkness.
However, what was hidden in this region had been transported from the heights of Mount Olympus and the mysterious vastness of the Twilight Vale.
Treasures were once taken, similar to the precious artifacts wielded by the gods and goddesses during their legendary battles. He was unfamiliar with the blackboards, as well as the numerous forms and languages. A sudden magic lit a candle, which was accompanied by a cylinder containing bubbling chemicals and surrounded by a magic.
A barrier changed, and a variety of shapes emerged. These shapes formed and became visible. They cannot be approached or touched, even once. External forces cannot shift the barriers; instead, they surround the magic as if it were their own.
The barriers can be hollow, solid, or a combination of the two, with a hollow center and a solid structure. Nobody can cross past them. Pages of swirling golden enchantment surround the walls.
Soft whispers floated around, repeating stories of fated encounters between legends from the past.
There was a disturbing tinge in what they said about this family, a shadow that could be felt even from a distance. It reflected their aunt's new demeanor, implying secrets and stories best kept hidden.

Everything is in perfect alignment with his magnificent design. That place was not featured in the plans—neither in the files nor in the main hallway. But the issue remains: why does it exist?
They called it Room 4B, a simple name that belied the mystery inside.
It was easy to get to; all you had to do was enter the elevator. That was the easy part—the entrance to whatever lay beyond that door.
The walls are made of ancient, weathered rock, with each stone bearing witness to the passage of time. As you examine the area, your eyes get a glimpse of a possible concealed entrance; otherwise, the surface looks to be a solid barrier of jagged rocks. However, there is a strange circular device dangling from the side—a cryptic relic that suggests its function as a mechanism for accessing this mysterious basement.
A quirky circle made in chalk near the elevator door catches your attention. It resembles a golden magic circle, with complex design and each section gleaming with ethereal light. The fine metals contained in the drawing emit a glittering brightness, heightening the overall bizarre and alien ambiance of this intriguing landscape.
Saku's brow furrowed, a jolt of desperation running through his heart. A cold rushed over him, stronger than before, as if shadows of something haunting flashed at the edge of his vision. "You wanted to exploit us," he said, his voice barely audible. "Do the gods even know what you're doing to us?"
"You can't be serious," he said, covering his lips and shaking his hands more than usual.
A sickening fear penetrated his own being.
"You wouldn't believe this place—it's like it's floating! The enchanted library drifts away on the wind, and the pages rustle as if they're catching golden winds. Greek letters seem to float and shimmer around, as if they have a life of their own." he faltered, his voice trailing off as a wave of dread washed over him, his eyes widening with the frightening truth he had just discovered.
"However, the interesting thing is that no one can notice it unless you discover it." Saku's eyes shone with an ethereal light, and the tattoos swirling down his neck pulsed rhythmically.
Dark magic engulfed him, its intensity increasing, engulfing him in a frightening embrace.
"Unless you're a demigod!" she said, her lips twisting into a teasing smirk. Her laughter was wild and infectious, and it was laced with something darker in her stare, making her eyes appear deeper than they should be.
"Wala kang gagawin sa kanila; kung may gusto kang gawin, unahin mo na ako! Stay away from my siblings!"Saku cried, his voice steady but intense, his eyes fixated on her, weighty enough to break through the tension in the air.
His brow wrinkled and arched dramatically, framing his eyes with furious intensity, as if he saw her as a potential threat.
That is how he continuously sacrificed for others, as he always did. Despite his efforts—moving to a new home, meeting family, and reconnecting with friends—he never felt satisfied. He remained to stay in the shadows.
All he knew was that he never belonged to anyone and no one desired him. He felt like a tool, not more than an item. Hazel immediately expressed that fear to him.
It just never seemed like home to him.
As Hazel talked, her rich, cinnamon-brown hair flowed in the strong wind that blew through the area, and a naughty grin playing at the corners of her lips.
"And you," she cackled, her laughter echoing across the room, "are just a stand-in for your brother!" Her eyes twinkled with mischief as she covered her mouth and shot a knowing smile at Salvatore. "No one ever escapes from here, and how foolish of Rino to bring that girl, all so I could finally possess this mirror!"
Mirror? The thought struck his mind like a flash of lightning. What exactly was the nature of Cienne's power within the mysterious mirror? It was supposed to have traveled across unknown realms, breaking down the curtain that separated planets and allowing access to everywhere one desired to go.
If this is the case, perhaps he could tap into it. Perhaps he could go there and rescue everyone.
They were both confined together, and during that period, they developed a deep friendship. This connection is where the problems begin.
A substitute? This idea repeated in Salvatore's mind as he shifted his look to his brother, the one he had always compared himself to. Deep down, he knew the truth: he was merely here to act as a piece in a huge experiment created by others.
He once went by the name Morgan. A man steeped in darkness, he lived in a world that frequently turned its back on him.
His only creed was survival, which drove him to make decisions that were far from morally sound.
For a long time, he walked alone, stripped of family and a sense of belonging, until fate brought him to a new family that embraced him warmly.
At least that was what he believed.
Salvatore lowered his gaze downward, as if an invisible load had fallen hard on him. His shoulders bowed in resignation, and a tremble passed through his body. "Kuya, kambal ba talaga tayo?"
He adjusted his glasses and diverted his look, refusing to meet Saku's eyes. As soon as Hazel's words rang in his mind, his doubts rose to the surface, stalking him like shadows.
Salvatore felt locked in a cage made of his own insecurity, resenting the very emotions that kept him captive and twisted his ideas.
Saku hesitated, unable to find the appropriate words for his brother. He took a glimpse at his brother's posture—shoulders squared, filling the area around him with silent rage.
Saku could feel the pain in his brother's expression, a wordless cry that tugged at his heart. It was obvious that under the stern façade, his brother was already carrying a huge load.
He noticed that his sibling was being compared. His actions speak louder than any other.
Hazel ensured it. A homunculus is an entity created rather than born. She said that she brought him to life using alchemy, a form of magic.
Saku allowed this to happen.
He forced a cheery expression on his face, putting his book aside and ruffling his hair. He took a slow step toward the row of shelves, where a neatly organized display of clothes and towels awaited him.
He reached for the towel and put it over Salvatore's head, carefully wiping away the moisture from his hair before letting out a heavy sigh. "Kambal tayo, kaya magkamukha tayo, di 'ba?"
He was untruthful.
He knelt before his brother, their eyes locked in a quiet exchange. With a gentle tap on his shoulders, his hands trembled so intensely that he couldn't keep his twin's stare. "Hindi kita pababayaan. Gagawin ko ang lahat upang maprotektahan ka."
But he went ahead and did it nonetheless. He walked away.
The air became dense, like a real shroud, and an atmosphere of fierceness and pride enveloped them. In close contact, the chill began to rise, a whispered breath of winter.
Salvatore let out a deep sigh, his body tensing slightly as unspoken tension settled in the air between them. He looked at the other man, who had an expression that indicated a plethora of thoughts were just beneath the surface.
"It's fine if you forget me; it doesn't bother me," he added, knowing deep down it wasn't true.
Salvatore approached his brother and wrapped his arm around Saku's shoulder. His voice, which was usually warm and friendly, now had an icy edge that sent shivers through the air between them. "Kuya, seryoso, nagtitiwala ka ba talaga sa tatay ko?"
He softly nudged his brother, a mischievous grin developing across his lips, and began clapping slowly, the sound piercing the tense air. He leaned closer, wrapping his arms around him in playful mockery. "Think about it," he continued, his voice full of excitement. "Thanatos teaming up with Hades? Who can say what they're brewing together? This war goes far beyond just Chaos."
With a cigarette between his lips, he sported his signature scowl, a storm developing in his eyes. As he searched for a lighter, a faint spark of flame lit the tip of his cigarette, sending smoke into the air.
He turned slightly and whispered, "Gusto mo naman siyang iligtas, di 'ba? Then stop trying to be a hero. Hindi 'yan bagay sa estilo mo. The only mistake you might make is to put your trust in those logosmiths, or even the gods."
He passed Saku a note with merely initials, which made his eyes expand. The letters were: L. A.V. No full name, only a cryptic message or possibly a codename. This was simply the beginning. Someone who recognized the truth was effectively manipulating everyone.
Saku tightly grasped the piece of paper, tucking it into his pocket as he moved past Salvatore. His goal was clear: he was on his way to Thanatos, his mind racing with questions.
"Thanatos," Saku said, his voice steady. He looked at him with a cold in his eyes, his hands deep in his pockets. "Ano ba ang gusto mo at tinutulungan mo pa kami? Wala talaga akong nakikitang dahilan para gawin mo 'yon."
He shot a quick glance at the cloaked figure, his eyes narrowing into slits, his brows knitting together into a thin line, and his jaw tightening, an obvious representation of his seething rage. Willhelmina's authority and importance were undeniably key to this battle. And the guy in front of him was not someone he could trust.
He spoke out, determined, "You gave us your word that you'd help us."
"Pero hindi ko maibibigay 'yang bagay na 'yon dahil tinulungan mo ang tatay ko. Baka naman tinutulungan mo lang kami para makalabas ka, pero may ibang plano ka pala." Isang ngisi ang lumabas sa kanyang mga labi. "Plano mong patayin ang anak ni Poseidon."
Tumahimik na lang si Thanatos. Saku could hardly make out the emotions on his face, so he squinted to elicit a stronger reaction. With a brave step forward, he went for the murky hood that concealed the figure's features, quickly removing it to expose what lay behind.
Thanatos is slender and muscular, with a regal expression, honey gold eyes, and black hair that cascades down his shoulders. His skin is the color of teakwood, and his dark wings sparkle in blue, black, and purple.
He was considered to be harsh and separate from others, disdaining both gods and humans. Saku understood the reasoning behind it.
"War didn't start with me," Thanatos stated, his voice echoing like a terrifying whisper through the shadows of his throne. A dense mist coiled about him, heightening the gloomy atmosphere that enveloped him. "You understand, it was never just that simple."
"Who can say," Saku said indifferently. "It doesn't matter to me. You won't find a way to get out of here."
The weight of his burden increased with each stride he took, bringing him closer to Thanatos. The Magus Transporter in his hands glowed with an exotic brightness, like a dazzling ball full of untold stories. Forged in the depths of shadow and legend, this relic has the ability to travel across realms and talk with gods. It was claimed to contain the mysteries of resurrection, which allowed the departed to be brought back to the realm of the living.
There's no time to explain. They have to hurry.
Salvatore trailed behind the two, his instincts tingling with excitement. Suddenly, he felt a strong wave of magic ripple across the air. As he swung the scythe, a burst of powerful magic surrounded him, making the air crackle with energy. Brilliant hues of gold, deep blue, and rich violet appeared, twisting and twirling as if alive, like shockwaves radiating outwards.
Each color danced in chaotic beauty, merging with a fragmented, ethereal energy that swirled around him like a storm, creating an otherworldly glow that brightened the dimly lit chamber.
"Huwag n'yo nang sayangin ang oras n'yo!" sigaw niya.
Then, from beneath, a violet spell emerged, creating a bridge of dreams in the swirling magic. A cord appeared, entwining Saku and Willhelmina tightly, and with each beat, it shone with brilliant sparkle.
"Soul Cord Destination."
"Ano na naman ang ginagawa mo, Salvatore?!" sigaw ni Thantos habang bigla siyang tumayo mula sa kanyang trono, kita ang kaba at pagkabahala sa kanyang tinig. Agad niyang hinugot ang kanyang death scythe at itinutok 'to sa kanila, handang ipagtanggol ang sarili o umatake anumang oras.
"You fail to understand the truth!" he screamed, irritation infusing his voice. "Your father's sole intention has always been to protect you! That's why he's gathering an army—to put an end to the logosmiths! Saku, please, you must hear me!" His voice, deep yet strained, resonated like metal scraping against stone, each syllable ringing with desperation.
As the chill in the air rushed over them, Saku shot a sidelong glance at Willhelmina, who appeared unconcerned about the situation. She caught his stare and shivered with surprise as his black eyes fixed on hers, followed by an eerie smirk.
In that moment, she realized she was facing someone very deadly. That look—the hint of mischief in his eyes—told her he was playing a game, one she might not be prepared to participate in.
"You mentioned that you unleashed those monsters for a test, didn't you?" he asked Thanatos, his voice hardening with a cold. His tone was thrillingly dark, as if he were dancing on the edge of disaster. "All right then, let's see what you've set in action."
A burst of energy shot through the air, enveloping them in a strange, electrifying hug. Saku recited an incantation, the sounds sliding off his lips like a melody from another realm, strange and mysterious to Thanatos. He had never heard such words before.
In the blink of an eye, a captivating aura spread about them, pealing like a distant bell that awoke the hidden beasts from their slumber. They pushed forward with an ear-splitting howl, a flood of rage and teeth, pushing headlong at him.
Tapos biglang bumukas ang portal, at may lumabas na kakaibang mahika mula mismo ro'n. A faint violet glow appears, changing into a shimmering trail that leads to a magical entrance.
The Celestial Isles.
And the land where Chaos reigns.
This is where it all began.
