XXI: The House of Hades

TWENTY-ONE.

THE HOUSE OF HADES.

SHORI FIXED HIS glasses and couldn't believe what he'd just discovered, "Forgiving someone has always been a difficult decision. Forgiving doesn't mean that you have forgotten what happened."

"It simply implies that you are responsible for releasing yourself from your pain. Because holding on to feelings that aren't healthy to you will only make you unhappy."

"It just means that you value peace over pointless confrontations. Saku's twisted, but he can't just tell you in his heart that he's also compassionate even if he doesn't express it as much."

Shori has always been a good listener; he's simply too kind, or perhaps too good. Nanako doesn't know either. All she sees is how good of a man he is.

His tears are flowing, and he worries for Saku's life. Despite the fact that they are not very close. He can see Saku has been through a lot, can't he?

"You're actually crying for him!?"

Shori gave a nod. "For the times when he had been so hard on himself."

He understood. He understands that he is a decent person. He sometimes hides behind his villainous demeanor because he adores Minami. That's why he couldn't express his feelings to Minami, because he could love her more than he did.

"Alam ko naman. Iyon ang dahilan kung bakit si Kuya ay biglang nawala." Rino said, and he messed his hair up. He simply didn't know what to do anymore.

"He's always like that. Blaming himself when I'm there for him. Pakikinggan ko naman siya eh. Hindi 'yung ganito na mawawala na lang siya sa ganitong paraan."

"However, there's one way to fix this."Shori said.

The two of them gazed at him. Suddenly, Shori's sparkling smile turned into a gloomy look. Nanako gulped and took a step back. What happened to Shori? His appearance was different before. It was impossible for her to identify.

"Ah, I just remembered. Shori was suddenly taken aback by Raine's sudden actions during a heated conversation between the three of them. "About the decipher," she said as she approached the three of them in silence. "Really, Saku wanted to convey that you should be on the lookout for traitors. Someone who has the ability to control morality."

"Find that asshole," she said, tapping the three before gathering the evidence and handing it to Rino. "Hindi ako naniniwalang patay na siya."

Or so they believed. They had no idea that once his game began, everything would fall into place. He will soon set up a trap in the spider web, and no one can stop him from capturing the traitor.

There's a certain magic about the place. A pair of grey and blue eyes opened slowly. His key was in the other person's hand, and he sensed the knife's magic.

He sensed the thick cloud cover surrounding the area. This place is surrounded by eerie voices. For sure they're both in Hades' place.

"Wake up," He cooed.

This is where the invisible realm exists. The earliest idea of the afterlife in Greek myth is that, at the moment of death, an individual's essence (psyche) is separated from the corpse and transported to the underworld.

In early Mythology, the dead were indiscriminately grouped together and led a shadowy post-existence; however, in later mythology (e.g., Platonic philosophy) elements of post-mortem judgment began to emerge with good and bad people being separated (both spatially and with regards to treatment).

Some Myths and stories say that Orpheus, a poet and musician that had almost supernatural abilities to move anyone to his music, descended to the underworld as a living mortal to retrieve his dead wife Eurydice after she was bitten by a poisonous snake on their wedding day. With his lyre-playing skills, he was able to put a spell on the guardians of the underworld and move them with his music.

With his beautiful voice he was able to convince Hades and Persephone to allow him and his wife to return to the living. The rulers of the underworld agreed, but under one condition - Eurydice would have to follow behind Orpheus and he could not turn around to look at her.

Once Orpheus reached the entrance, he turned around, longing to look at his beautiful wife, only to watch as his wife faded back into the underworld. He was forbidden to return to the underworld a second time and he spent his life playing his music to the birds and the mountains.

This is where Hades' lives.

Their lives in the underworld were very neutral, so all social statuses and political positions were eliminated and no one was able to use their previous lives to their advantage in the underworld.

The idea of progress did not exist in the Greek underworld - at the moment of death, the psyche was frozen, in experience and appearance. The souls in the underworld did not age or really change in any sense. They did not lead any sort of active life in the underworld - they were exactly the same as they were in life.

Therefore, those who had died in battle were eternally blood-spattered in the underworld and those who had died peacefully were able to remain that way.

"My father is coming, so you must hide. I'll be there to get you. So, please wait for me," he said to her. "Just this once!" The girl decided to leave after ending to argument.

"You're finally awake." Hades glared. "Henry."

This was his Demigod name, so the story goes. He chose this name immediately following his reincarnation following the Judgement Day. He has a lot of questions for him, though. And if those three were able to understand his message regarding his case, everything will be put back in order.

They're different from each other. After what happened, it seems as though Hades will treat him differently. Not only was it extremely cold here, but he was unable to move his feet. He was able to breathe here, though, because it was also his home.

"Sino ka ba!?"

"You're in your own home and have no idea where you are?"

"Pake ko,"

KUNG IKAW ANG nasa posisyon niya ngayon, malamang na lahat ay uurong. Sa kanyang kasalukuyang posisyon, hindi man lang nagpakita si Henry ng anumang tanda ng pagkabalisa. This time, he wouldn't allow anyone play with him. Never.

"Do you really want to speak to your father, whom you haven't seen in years, in that manner?" Whatever the case, Henry could sense the difference between him and this man since he was near to him. His figure is hidden by the thick fog. However, he's a large man with a skull in his hand.

"Henry, you're aware of who I am. Don't be silly. I assume you're still on my side now that you're here."

And the man right in front of him was Hades. Hades was a dark and gloomy god, and he looked that way too. He had long dark hair and a beard that covered most of his facial features.

Hades wasn't well liked, and that was mostly due to his morbid personality and the joy he had when people got the punishment of death for their crimes. He didn't interact much with other gods, and he loved being feared.

However, he was one of the most just gods out of all of them. That is what Imetheos claimed about the majority of literature and what they taught.

That's not all. Hades is the Ancient Greek god of the Underworld, the place where human souls go after death. In time, his name became synonymous with his realm. It has to be said unsurprisingly - since he barely left it. Appropriately, the most significant myth related to Hades concerns one of the very few times he did - to abduct Demeter's daughter, Persephone.

As the ruler of the dead, Hades was a grim and ghastly figure, inspiring awe and terror in everybody. Consequently, he was rarely depicted in art. When he was, he was most commonly portrayed with a beard, and a solemn, mournful look.

He frequently wears a helmet, named the Helm of Darkness or the Cap of Invisibility. Cerberus, the three-headed dog which guarded the entrance to the Underworld, is usually beside him. Every so often he carries a scepter or holds the key to his kingdom.

At a later stage, he became associated with his weapon of choice, the bident, a two-pronged fork modeled after Poseidon's trident. As Plouton, he was sometimes shown with a cornucopia, the horn of plenty.

He's definitely on a different level.

He closed his eyes, and his eyes lit up against Hades, freezing the entire place in an instant. There's obviously something wrong here. In comparison to the First Domain, he finds it easier to use his powers. As if you had to play by the rules here.

"With that, son, you really should to be aware of what you are." Hades glared at him. "Now that you've arrived."

He's not sure if he can believe his words.

Henry wanted to see how his father would respond, so he said, "So I'm here for something about the silly Fates again?" If only he could.

His eyes became furious by what happened. If he's going to use him, he should understand what's going on with the Fates.

Dahil 'di lang din naman 'to tungkol sa kanya, it also applies to the Archduchess. But first, he needs to understand his current situation as a Demigod.

The surroundings has become even colder than usual. Can you at least thank me?"

Henry made his decision. He can no longer back out of this. For the time being, he will get along with him. To make sure his survival and to protect her.
