After their...informative trip to Gringotts, Magnus took Jamie shopping before they went home.

Later, that night they all sat down and discussed where Jamie would go to school and eventually agreed that he would attend the Dumstrang school in Bulgaria. Jamie was pleased by this decision because 1) he preferred the cold and 2) Headmaster Karkaoroff agreed to allow Jamie to stay with his parents instead of in the dorms.

A month before he was to leave for school, Jamie went through his inheritance. Much like his dad, Jamie had two marks that showed his status as a high warlock.

Magnus and Alec were beyond proud and treated him to a night out, buying him all his favorite foods and a sending away present for school.

While out, Jamie came across a pet store and, after puppy dog eyeing his poppa, bought a kit. He named the baby fox ombré, meaning: "shadow", for its unusually colored fur.

Ombré, as his dad later explained with fond amusement, was his familiar.
