On with Chapter 4:

(Y/N)'S POV

"Yuuji!" I exclaimed when I exited my house before running into his arms.

After hugging for a few seconds we then began heading to school.

"Hey, Yuuji." I called. "Hm?" he hummed to reply. "Do you wanna go on a date later?" I asked. It's been awhile since we've been on a date, and I miss going out with him despite seeing him everyday. Also it's a Friday, we don't have to worry about homework being due tomorrow.

"Ah, sorry. I'm busy in the afternoon. Maybe next time." Yuuji said as he ruffled my hair.

All I did was pout at his response. This was probably the 3rd time this week where he was busy in the afternoon. What suddenly came into his schedule?

"What do you have going on in the afternoon anyways?" I decided to ask since I was curious.

"Ah um.. I'm going to hang out with Kazuma and Takeharu today!" he said a little too loudly.

I just raised an eyebrow at his actions before nodding.

When we finally arrived in school, we changed our shoes to the indoor shoes before heading to our class.

"Hi there, Yuuji. How are you?" one of our classmates, (r/n) greeted him with a grin.

"I've been fine, (r/n). What about you?" Yuuji asked back with a grin on his face as well.

They've been close with each other ever since they had to do a project in pairs. The teacher assigned the pairs herself. I was paired with a classmate I at least knew whereas Yuuji was paired with (r/n)..

Because of the project, Yuuji and (r/n) decided that they would use the time during lunch and after school to do their work. I only managed to have few lunches together with Yuuji and only was able to go home together after our clubs.

But it's all for the project, so it's fine, right?

I mean, after the project, lunches together with Yuuji and him sending me home became more regular.

I don't mind Yuuji making friends with other girls, and I don't know if I'm just paranoid, but there were times where it would look like they were flirting with each other.

But they're not... right?

No! No no no! He would never do that! He wouldn't. He was the one who confessed first too!

'I'm probably just overthinking.' I thought before taking my seat and waited for class to start.

after school

Since I was going to go home alone, again, I decided to buy a snack from one of the vending machines before going home.

Usually I would just head straight home because I didn't want to keep Yuuji waiting. But since he's busy today, I guess my snack doesn't have to wait any longer.

After getting my snack(s) and changing into my outdoor shoes, I began to make my way home.

On my way out of the school, I saw Kazuma and Takeharu walking out of the school too. Where's Yuuji?

"Kazuma-kun! Takeharu-kun!" I called out to them before jogging towards them. I've hung out with them before when I didn't have any club while Yuuji still has them. They're fun to be around. We apparently got so close that quick that we were already on the first name basis.

"Ah! (Y/n)-chan!" Kazuma exclaimed.

"Nice to see you again!" I greeted and they nodded back. "So, where are guys going?" I asked since I just realized I didn't ask Yuuji this morning.

"Home." they replied. Eh, home?

"Home? Whose home?" I asked with confusion. All I got back was a look of confusion from them too.

"What do you mean, (Y/n)-chan? We're going to our own homes." Takeharu said. Now I'm even more confused.

"Aren't you guys hanging out with Yuuji?" I aksed.

"Terushima? We didn't plan on hanging out today, right?" Takeharu looked towards Kazuma in confirmation, who just nodded in agreement.

.....??

"Actually, I think I saw him walking out with, what was her name.. (r/..." "(r/n)?" I helped Kazuma complete his sentence.

I just stayed silent. 'Why would he lie to me?'

"A-Ah, is that so? I see. Well then, I'll see you next week at school!" I said before walking off. I didn't even wait for a reply from them.

I just walked home in silence whilst thinking if I did anything wrong.

Once I reached home, I sent him a text.

I managed to get home safely. Text me back when you're back home too!

It's already 10PM and I was already prepping for bed, but still no reply from Yuuji. 'Did I really make him that mad?'

I couldn't really do much right now and I'm already tired, so I decided to just send him a goodnight text
