Chapter Eight

⚠️⚠️ Homophobic slurs, may be upsetting.

Detective Sawamura reached the reception of the hospital as he noticed a man and woman walking towards him. The woman was being held tightly by her husband as she cried softly. A young man followed them, he had an uncanny resemblance to Iwaizumi Hajime so the Detective stopped them.

"Excuse me" he began bowing in front of them, "are you Hajime's parents?" The man looked warily at him, "yes, who are you?". The officer answered, "I'm Detective Sawamura. I'm dealing with the disappearance of your sons friend, Oikawa Tooru".

The woman looked at him with pure anger in her face, she stormed towards the man and slapped him across the face. He gasped feeling the bitter sting spread across his cheek. "I'm so sorry" Iwa's father stammed, "she's taking this really hard. Hajime is our only child and she feels like a second mother to Tooru." "I understand" the Detective answered, "you can go but I need to speak to Kaito".

The couple wandered off into the direction of Iwa's room, watched closely by the two men. "I've got time now" Kaito offered. "Ok, can you come back to the Police station with me" detective Sawamura asked. "Yes, that's fine" the boy replied. Both men got in the car and drove to the station. Thirty minutes later they arrived.

As the men sat at the table the detective made Iwa's cousin aware that the interview was going to be taped and the boy nodded in agreement. "Tell me what happened the day that Tooru went missing" the officer instructed.

"Ok" Kaito replied, "but things started to go wrong before that day". The officer just nodded for him to continue.

"We arrived two weeks ago to visit my aunt, uncle and Hajime. I've not seen them for about 10 years. I could tell that something had changed with him even though I hadn't seen him for so long. I couldn't put my finger on it until I saw him with his, er friend? the day after we arrived here".

"What do you mean by (friend)" Detective Sawamura asked. "It's embarrassing saying this but it was obvious that the freak had weird feelings for Hajime" his cousin stated with a scowl on his face. "What are you insinuating Mr Iwaizumi?".

After a couple of minutes of squirming in his chair he said, "he was obviously one of them and I was not letting him try anything unnatural with my cousin, disgusting"

Detective Sawamura could feel his blood boiling, he knew exactly what this gross human being was trying to say. "Spill it Iwaizumi" he growled. The boy looked at him shocked, "I mean he was obviously gay and trying to get in my cousins pants but I wasn't going to allow it. They should all be drowned at birth" he continued.

That was it for the Detective he jumped up and screamed at the boy in front of him, his eyes wide and blood vessels prominent in his neck. He knew that he was scary but he didn't care. "You piece of shit, if anyone should have been drowned at birth it's you. If yoy don't tell me now what happened that night I will end you. Do you understand?" "Whatever" the boy answered. The officer grabbed the boy with his shirt collar and screamed in his face "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, YOU PRICK?" " Er, yes sir, sorry sir" he mumbled.

They both sat down and he began. "We were all winding Hajime up about the boy having feelings for him but he ignored us. He knew that we didn't agree with that type of lifestyle but he continued to see his friend. We had gone to practice to pick him up and when he hadn't come out I went in to get him and saw him pinned against the wall by 'his friend' so I dragged the boy off him".

"What happened then?" the officer asked. "I threw the fag to the ground". Detective Sawamura looked at the boy and growled, "you need to watch your language when you talk to me about Tooru. Do you understand. I will not tolerate your biggotry".

"Ok sorry, sorry. I told Hajime that if he didn't teach the f... sorry boy a lesson for manhandling him then I would tell everyone including his parents that he was gay and believe me you do not want to make my uncle angry"

"So what happened next?" Sawamura asked. "My friends had just come into the gym so we were all watching him". "Did he hurt Tooru?" "No Hajime would never hurt him physically". "What did he do then, Kaito?" " He pushed him and called him a faggot and told him that he hated him." "And?" Sawamura asked. "He spat on him and then ran out of the room".

"What state was Tooru in at this time?" " He was crying like the little bitch he is. It was disgusting, he just kept screaming for Hajime and saying that he didn't believe him". "Did any of you hurt Tooru?" "No, we all left. I caught up to Hajime and we went to the nearby cafe and was there together until 11pm when I dropped him off at home".

"What about your friends?" "They left and went back to the holiday home and he came out shortly after and walked in the opposite direction but he was alive and well".

"Ok, I need the address of the holiday home to speak to your friends and you can go but in future if I hear you spouting this foul hate filled bullshit again, I will bury you. Now get out of my sight". The boy left.

Detective Sawamura felt the tears run down his face, 'that poor boy' he thought. He looked at the photo in his wallet of his strong, handsome and athletic son and his beautiful, caring boyfriend and promised that he would find Oikawa Tooru before it was too late.

I JUST WANT TO APOLOGISE IF THIS CHAPTER HAS HURT OR OFFENDED ANYONE. IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION. I BELIEVE THAT ALL PEOPLE BE TREATED EQUALLY AND THAT THERE ARE, UNFORTUNATELY BIGOTS AND HATERS ABOUT. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOVE WHOEVER THEY WANT WITHOUT JUDGEMENT..
