Prologue

15 December 20xx
12:00

The young man sat against his windowsill, head pressed against the glass of his window. His gaze was directed to the small Pomeranian jumping around in the garden. The puppy was panting, basking in the sunlight, having the time of his life. He seemed so content, so happy to be able to feel the sun on his mane and the freshly trimmed grass against his small paws, so glad to be alive. Tan had not a care in the world as he chased against the small squirrels with his tail cutely wagging behind his small figure.

As for the boy, a frown was imprinted on his flawless face. Although the dog gave him immense joy, it was yet another reminder that someone had left him. He let his brown locks cover his face, hiding his eyes that were coated in tears. Tears that refused to fall and instead decided to steal all his happiness and leave him surrounded and caged with melancholy. His big doe eyes never showed a trace of joy. Not since that day. Not since he lost something important to him. Someone important to him.

The man's gaze shifted from the dog to the Polaroid in his hands. He held it by his fingertips, scared to damage it in any way: he would never be able to forgive himself if it were scratched. This photo was the one thing keeping him alive; if it were damaged, he would become broken.

His face seemed to rid itself of its misery for short seconds as he looked at that photo. Yet, all happiness is bound to come to an end.

The longer he looked at the photo, the worse he felt. His face remained expressionless but his eyes held exceptional depth of emotion. His eyes looked like they had lost the world; like he had destroyed the one thing he dared to give his love to; like he wanted to give up. His masculine figure began trembling as he slowly hugged the Polaroid, placing it close to his heart. His vision became blurry as he lifted his hand to cover his mouth to choke his sobs.

One month ago

"Hyung! I'm not a child!" He whined as he let the older ruffle his hair. Unknowingly a slight blush covered the younger's face whilst he tried to push away the taller.

"Awwwww Jungkookie," the taller man chuckled, "you're so cute." The older man flashed a beautiful smile, one that left Jungkook's heart fluttering; the most handsome man in the world had just called him cute. The older wouldn't stop smiling at his friend, which only caused Jungkook's heart to beat faster. The box smile was his weak point; he could never handle it when his hyung would flash his smile to him when they were alone.

"Yah! Come on, we're going to be late" jungkook took the older's hand and pulled him to the large building.
The two spent the whole day together, laughing and occasionally bickering. Anyone could see that they were the bestest of friends, seemingly inseparable. So, when the time came to separate, it was especially hard for Jungkook to say goodbye to his favourite hyung.

"Awwww Jungkookie's going to miss me isn't he," he said as Kook slightly pouted, "don't worry, hyung will see you soon again."

At that moment, Kook  felt like he was going to die: his body was trapped in the arms of the big puppy. He was being squeezed in a bone-crushing hug, with their hearts blessed together, beating fast against one another.

At that moment Jungkook realised he wanted to stay by the other's side for the rest of his life. He never wanted to leave him. Never.

Two nights ago

Loud noises. Cheers. The clinks of alcohol bottles.

The other day, a couple of men decided to get together, to celebrate their friendship, to celebrate their first meeting. There were seven in total: a intellectual businessman , an extraordinary chef, a famous composer, a dance teacher, a police officer , a model and Jungkook. These men had been inseparable since their youth; they always shared secrets and were always there for one another.

The room was filled with loud noises as each member started drinking. There were a couple playing video games or eating while some were just laughing and sharing jokes.

In the midst of the fun, Kook's attention was drawn towards the model: his best friend. The man's face was flushed (he was clearly drunk), yet he remained beautiful. His eyes were glossed over, shining so beautifully in the light. His smile was on show for everyone, radiating exceptional happiness. He was laughing his heart out, and it made Jungkook smile with admiration too. He was so beautiful.

---------------

With streams of tears falling down his eyes, the man reluctantly stored away the Polaroid. He felt like his world was being taken away from him.

He fell to the floor, holding himself as though he had been severely injured. He couldn't hold on much longer. Not without his hyung. He couldn't hold back the sobs. His cover was drowning away. He was in pain. So much pain.

Crying hurt. It hurt so much to let out such strong emotions, only to feel empty again. It hurt to wail at the loss of someone so important. It hurt so much, that it felt like he was being tortured; that he was falling and would never be able to get up again.

"Hyung....it hurts...." he let out, "It hurts....come back hyung. Please. Don't leave me alone.

"I miss you Taehyung......come back to me.

Please.....Please. I'm all alone without you."
