Chapter Six
Though, there was something to look forward to. Kim Namjoon.

She had a way of walking that made her seem almost dead and completely lifeless. Her steps were heavy as though it was hard for her to keep herself standing straight. 'Kim Namjoon' was her only thought as she trudged her way across town. Her hand was loosely wrapped around her phone, the grip only strong enough to make sure the device wouldn't fall to the ground. For the past 30 minutes, Hye-Jin had been trying to get in contact with Kim Namjoon only to be getting declined and ignored from the other side. The whole failed attempt sent her mind into a state in which she lost all sense of reality, acting like a robot, emotionless.
Kim Namjoon. Friends. Kim Taehyung. Together. Night. Dead.
She wanted to be dead: her fighting spirit was wondering away and all that was left was emptiness. So, while having to deal with the emptiness, it became hard for the female to dial a few numbers and continue on with the case. Even if life gets hard, time won't wait and if you lose time, you lose everything.

With a deep breath, Ahn Hye-Jin tried to reignite the flame in her soul, even a spark would do, for she knew that in a few moments that spark would transform into blazing wildfire, completely unstoppable and beyond ruthless.
Within seconds she could see her destination: the bright yellow tape surrounding the secluded alleyway, the small plastic bags securing precious evidence. Unconsciously, a smile adorned Hye-Jin's face: she was at the crime scene.

.
"Ah, Hye-Jin-ssi glad you could make it. I'll let you get started, just wear these protective clothes and I'll have one of the newer kids show and tell you what we've found out. Oh, and read through the files of what we've found on his phone." Hye-Jin simply responded with a grateful smile. She stepped into the suit and snapped on the latex gloves.
"M-miss Ahn, Ill be t-taking you around the s-scene."
"Thanks Kiddo." She said as she ruffled the boy's hair. "Take me to the place where the victim was found dead." With a nod, the boy took her deep into the alley.
She crouched down, examining the scene, suddenly asking, "These." She said pointing to what seemed like splashes of blood. "What did your investigators take from these?"
"Th-they said it w-was most likely stained when a knife was slashed along Mr Kim's chest. It was the most logical explanation."
"Incorrect. You see, the slash across his chest was made starting at his right collarbone down to the left of his hip. If anywhere, the splashes of blood would be located here." She drew a circle around the aforementioned area. "But here, its completely spotless. The 'splashes' were made on the opposing side. Tell me, what does that mean?"
"Uh-Uhm...I don-"
She cut him off with a heavy sigh. "They were painted. Yes it is Taehyung's blood but it wasn't the knife that caused this. Either the murderer or her/his accomplice, if he/she has one, painted this on. You can see it and it looks weirdly not spontaneous. Anyone could tell these were fake." The boy was certainly left speechless and maybe even slightly scared of the woman. "How was Mr Kim's body found?"
"I-it was found in like a sitting po-position. They s-say it's likely he fell down from the pain."
"Wrong. Once again. If you look closely," she gestured him to crouch down to have a better look, "you can see that there is a slight dent in tarmac. This size of dent doesn't happen just from falling onto the floor. He was shoved down. The killer most likely placed their hands against the area where the neck and shoulders connect." She mimicked the action on the boy who started to fear the woman more, "and shoved him down into the floor," she said whilst pushing the boy to fall on the floor how she described. "The more intense pressure left this indentation. Understand?"
The boy frantically nodded his head. 'She's crazy' he thought.
"Now," Hye-Jin stood up and walked to the outer areas of the alley, "where was Taehyung-ssi walking from and to?"
With a gulp the boy stuttered, "F-From th-the left to-to the r-right, May-maybe he w-was walking ho-home?"
"Have you even looked at his file?! He lives on the other side of Seoul! This street has no correlation to where he lives!
"Walk with me, let me explain this thoroughly to you. Kim Taehyung started off in this path. He must have been wanting to meet up with someone. But why this late? It was past midnight. Who would agree to meet the man here? If you look at his phone, the last calls and texts were made five days prior to the incident, and they don't relate to this matter at all. This means that the two met regularly, perhaps once a month or perhaps once a week. They had a certain netting spot that Taehyung was travelling to. And, obviously someone must have been following him. See, here," she stopped slightly before the curving into the alleyway, "this is where the attacker made their first move. They must have creeped up behind Tae, slapped a hand in front of his mouth and dragged him in. I'm assuming you already know what happened in the actual crime scene, so I'll skip that part. It took around maybe a few hours. By this point, the person he was meant to meet must have come back on this path wondering why Kim wasn't there already. He/she must have heard the screams. So why didn't they respond? The two were supposedly friends, so why would he leave his friend to die?"
"Well, I've got all I need for now, hope you learned well kiddo," Hye-Jin ruffled his hair before unsuiting herself removing the protective gear and getting ready to leave. "Last thing. Make sure to tell the others know it was a murder. See you around kid." And with that, Hye-Jin walked away with a jump in her step.
"...Wow..." the boy turned on his heels to face his boss, "I quit."

◁ 22:00▷
The night rolled over, killing the people of Seoul into a deep sleep, covering away light in the process. The sky transformed into a painting of deep blues and black and the the stars acted like a nightlight, illuminating the darkness above. The air was still and heavy as a cool breeze swept the streets, seeping into the occasional open window.
Hye-Jin let out a small shiver before placing her phone on the nightstand and snuggling into her blanket. The day ended well and she was ready to have a good, peaceful sleep. ((Idk if this sounds grammatically correct))

"My. My. My. Did little Hye-Jinnie try to chase me? You tried to be all smart and want to trap me, don't you Jinnie." A cold ominous voice echoed in her room. Hye-Jin had her eyes open in an instant and sat up straight. She glanced around the room, looking for the mysterious man.
"You won't find me Jinnie~
I won't let you find me~"
Hye-Jin stood on her feet, and reached for her phone while looking straight ahead to try and be sneaky. To her surprise, the phone wasn't placed where she remembered it; rather than on the right of the stand, it was positioned on the left. 'Strange,' she thought 'I remember having it on the other side." She took the phone in her hand regardless and looked in it for her reflection. Black. It was black.
"This is a dream isn't it. You're the murderer aren't you."
The man let out a small chuckle, "you sure are smart Ahn. But I'm not letting you escape from this so-called dream. You're stuck her until I'm done with you. That okay with you sweetheart?"
As he spoke, Hye-Jin attempted to wake her sleeping body, trying to lift her hand even a finger would do; she needed to regain consciousness. Now. Yet, as expected it was useless. She lost all control. She was simply a puppet and the strange man was her puppet-master, pulling her strings ready to torture her, ready to make her do anything.
When she had brought her attention back to the 'dream', there was an unusual silence. A silence that caressed her skin like a cool summer breeze. It bit into her soul, making it jagged, dropping it into a deep dismay.
An escape; that was all she wanted.
She felt a cold sensation strike on the left of her neck. 'Metal?' She thought. With a hitch in her breath, she tilted her head down only for her to see a knife. A knife. Pressed to her neck.
"I see we're in a little situation aren't we. You've been a bad girl, trying to find me. Let me teach you a lesson." At a foreign stinging sensation, the phone fell out of the female's hands, colliding with the floor. Pieces of glass and plastic were sprawled across the wooden surface. The knife pressed further into her neck and somehow she truly felt pain. 'This doesn't feel like a dream at all..what's he going to do to me..' her mind was buzzing as the wound become deeper and more painful.
"Don't mess with me sweetheart. I'll take you to hell and leave you there to burn."
The blood dripped, little by little, falling on the shattered phone. It decorated the floor as though it were paint and the murderer the skilled artist. Both lost all sense of time as the knife danced across Hye-Jin's body. Blood fell faster, fleeing from the veins and arteries. The painting was almost complete.
And there was an ominous silence as the the two stood in a puddle of blood.
