My braid turns out better than I expected. It's a bit lopsided, but the way he gave a goofy grin, it was endearing how he looked so proud of himself. So I hugged him tight, saying I loved it. I kind of did.

We both ran back inside the castle, right before students started waking up, to avoid being caught. Hurrying back in, breath caught up in our throats, I looked at him. The smile played across his face. The blonde hair waving off his forehead. His hand in mine.
And I fell a little deeper in love.

'Lucky nobody caught us.' he huffed as we jogged our way in the common room, the slow light dimming softly through the windows. It was 6:30am, and people were about to wake up soon.

'Yeah.' I smiled wide.

He watched my eyes with wonder and admiration. Then he kissed me hard on the lips. My hands rested on his chested, and his were gripping my waist.

He moved a tendril of hair behind my ears, bending his head slightly so we were at eye level with each other.

'See you at the great hall?' he whispered.

My face hurt from how much I smiled, and I felt slightly faint.
I delicately placed a small peck on his cheek,

'See you.'

I walked back to my dorm, shutting the door quietly behind me. I sighed, my back leaning against it.

About 30 minutes later, it was safe to come outside. The building still echoed in silence, but eventually, students from the common room spilled out, hurrying to grab breakfast.
I followed after them, making my way to the hall.

It hummed in busyness as usual, but I couldn't find Draco anywhere. He wasn't sat at the Slytherin table, and he wasn't seen walking in.
I shrugged to myself, deciding to join the trio at the Gryffindor table.

'Hey, guys.' I sat myself down beside them.

Ron grinned through his mouthful of cereal,
'Morning Domi!' he said.

Hermione quickly whacked him on the arm with her Daily Prophet newspaper.
'Don't talk with your mouth full, Ron!' she told him off.

He turned to me, and rolled his eyes dramatically. We both giggled uncontrollably.

'I adore your braids, Domi! How did you do them so well?' Hermione exclaimed.

'Oh, thank you.' I blushed, 'Um. Draco did them for me.'

She gave a shocked smile,
'Oh my God, that is adorable!'

'Thanks!' I said, but my focus drifted to the entrance of the hall, waiting for Draco to show up.

Harry eyed me carefully,
'Where's Malfoy?'

My eyes flickered to him, and I flustered a little,
'Oh um- I don't know.'

Hermione gasped in excitement,
'Are you two dating now?'

My cheeks felt hot,
'Uh- I guess. I'm not sure-' I let out an awkward laugh, which sounded a bit horrific, even to my ears.

She squealed, clapping her hands together.

Ron nudged me teasingly,
'Didn't know you fancied gits.'

Hermione smacked him again,
'Don't call her boyfriend a git.'

We all laughed, but Harry looked a bit curious.

'I think I saw him walking down the stairs this morning.' he said, glancing at the entrance.

'Oh, really? I should go check on him, then. We have Herbology soon.' I smiled warmly at them, giving a wave before leaving,
'See you, guys!'

I jogged through the corridors, searching for the blonde boy.

I ran towards the stairs, and as I turned one corner, I found him.

With her.

Her head was resting on his shoulder, and his arms were wrapped round her body tightly.
She leaned into him, like she couldn't stand on her own two feet, and he rubbed her back comfortingly. He was whispering something that I couldn't hear.

I quickly flipped over the corner, so my back was leaning against the other side of the wall.

It all happened at once. My head blurs all of a sudden. I feel uneasy, and my breath turns rough. How many times have I seen them like that? Too many to count.

But they were broken up.

Suddenly, Draco appears from the corner, bumping right into me.

'Oh-Domi!' he blinked in shock.

I looked up at him, trying to make myself seem as casual as possible, so he didn't suspect that I saw what I just saw. But he knew. His eyes softened, and he stared into me worriedly. He stared so hard, I had to look down at the floor to avoid tearing up.

'Doms...' he began, 'It isn't what it looks like.'

I chuckled, to make it all seem fine, even when my heart thrummed painfully inside my chest,
'I know.'

His eyes filled with uncertainty, like he knew I didn't trust my own gut.
'Are you okay?'

If I opened my mouth, I think I would've cried. Instead, I nodded quickly, taking his arm and facing the other way so he didn't see my face,

'Let's uh-' I clear my throat, 'Let's go get breakfast.'

He carefully followed after me, until we reached the hall. We sat together, grabbing the last bits left on the table.
Throughout, he kept a steady stare. It's hard to eat with his intense eyes on me, but I gulped the rest down, patting remaining crumbs away.

He loves her.

He's always loved her.

I tried pushing the thoughts away. No.
They were just hugging.
Stop overreacting.
You're being such a baby.

I turned to face him.

He saw.

He knows.

I gave a wide smile, wide enough so he thought I was okay. Because I was. I think.

He grinned back.
'Hey, so. Do you want to have a study date tonight?' he asked hopefully.

My shoulders dropped down in relief.
'A study date?'

He gave a cheeky smile,
'Yeah, we can just do our Potions essay. I can help you.'

'Where would we do it? The common room?'

He paused,
'We could...do it in your room?'

My heart started racing.
'My room?'

'Sure. Besides, I saw your grades. You're failing.' he tsked.

I nudged him playfully on the stomach,
'Okay.'

-

When school ended, I walk into the common room, Draco was waiting, sat on the couch.
When he saw me, he stood up immediately, a bunch of books and parchment piled in his arms. He gave a big goofy grin, walking over to me whilst balancing the supplies.
I went over to him and helped him, grabbing a few books.

'Hi.' I said.

'Hey.' he replied, 'I need to go for a shower first, so can you wait in your room?'

'Sure.' I smiled, as he pecked me on the nose, before heading out the door.

I made my way inside my dorm, kicking the door closed with my foot, as I carried the books in my arms. I plopped them all on my bed, and grabbed a book.
I took out a hoodie, and some shorts from my trunk, putting them on.
I sat on my bed, snuggled under the sheets, and started reading.

About 7 minutes later, there was a knock.
Smiling to myself, I called out,

'Come in.'

Draco popped his head inside, grinning as he saw me in my pyjamas, my hair in a messy top bun.

He walked in, and it was then that my eyes adjusted to the fact that he was shirtless.

I widened my eyes at his toned body, and I quickly glanced back at my book, hoping my cheeks weren't as hot as they felt.

He chuckled cooly and stood by my bed, peeling the sheets back slightly, and getting in them.
I shuffled over so he could fit in, and my bed was quite narrow so when we both sat, our shoulders slightly grazed against each other, sending shivers down my spine. It was weird having a teenage boy in my bed. The bed where I spent practically all my childhood in.

He awed in sight of my cat, Benjamin, who was sitting by us, and said,

'What's their name?'

'His name's Benjamin.' I smiled.

Draco grinned and gingerly led out to stroke him. The cat surprisingly welcomed his hand, and purred with gratitude as he scratched the back of his ears. I take that to be a good sign.
He then carefully brought Benjy to his tummy, cradling him with one hand as he flicked through the book with the other.

Draco's hair was still a bit wet, and I looked over at him reading, his tall frame sloping as he sat upright. Why was he so gorgeous?

He sighed frustratedly,
'Why is this so confusing?'

'You're the one that's supposed to be helping me.'

'Yeah, but this shit is hard.'

I closed my book, turning over so my stomach was lying on the bed, my feet dangling off.
I flipped through the pages blindly, trying to read, but every time, my eyes drifted off to his abs. I couldn't help it.
Draco looked down at me, and chortled happily,

'Enjoying the view?'

I rolled my eyes, cheeks turning a bright pink.
'Why don't you have a shirt on? It's freezing.'

He shrugged,
'It's not that cold for me.'

'Apparently girls feel colder than boys.'

'Really?'

'Yeah, I read it in a muggle magazine once.'

'What's your obsession with muggle magazines?'

'They're just fun to read. I can learn things about the outside world. I've always wanted to live there.'

'Why would you want to learn about muggles?'

'It's always a life I wish I had. Just a simple, romantic life. They all live in little cottages by the countryside, and they go to these shops which have really interesting foods as well.'

'But isn't that so boring?'

'What do you mean?'

'The life they have. No excitement. It's like they're trapped in an ordinary, draining society. In this world, you can do whatever you want, live however you'd like, and you'd feel free.'

I gaze a little at him. I've never really heard him speak so full of passion before. He looked really grounded in that moment, like he was an older version of Draco. A more sophisticated version.

We ended talking about all sorts of things, and time flew by before I could recognise it.
The sky grew silent and darker than ever.
I looked over at the clock. 02:30am.
I had also realised we had done nothing.

'We haven't done anything.' I whined.

'Maybe next time.' he sniggered.

I playfully swatted at his arm, and he let out a laugh.

'You need to go back soon.' I said.

He lied down on his back, snuggling by the pillows.
I yawned a little, and he gestured for me to come lie with him.
I shook my head promptly,

'You can't stay here, Draco.'

He pouted, tugging gently on my hoodie sleeve.
'Pretty please.' and he kissed my hand dramatically for show.

Merlin, he looked so cute.
I giggled, finally giving in, and shuffled beside him. He brought me closer, so my head was resting above his bare chest.
Gingerly, I put my hand on his stomach, and I felt him smile against my hair. His arms tightened comfortingly around my waist, and all I could feel was the raising of his chest as he breathed, and his steady heart beat.

In that moment, I didn't care about anything. Just me in his arms. Just him.

He kissed me on the head, before whispering,

'Goodnight, bubs.'

My eyes instantly shot up, and I twisted my head up to look at him.

'Oh my god.' I exclaimed, 'Did you just call me 'bubs'?'

He smiled with his eyes still closed,
'Go to sleep.'

I giggled in delight, and rested my head back down. The cold skin of his bare chest against my cheek made my heart race rapidly.
We were both entangled in each other's arms under the blankets, and it created the most comforting warmth. It was better than a cup of hot chocolate. And it was better than what I've seen in movies. Because it was real.
