She needed to apologize and she needed to do it properly. But... how? He isn't gonna want to see her after what she did to him. But she wanted to apologize so badly. And explain everything that happened to. She knew she wouldn't get any sympathy, and she wasn't asking for it. She wasn't asking him for understand and feel bad for her and apologize. She felt it was better if he just ditched her completely.
She suddenly bumped into someone which messed up her blue hair. She looked up, rubbing her forehead, glaring up the person, even more so when she realized who it was. Cia, the virgin slayer.
"Well, if it isn't little Lucina?" Cia said slyly.
"What do you want?" Lucina said.
Cia smirked. "Everyone! Could I please have your attention?! I have a little something to share about our dear Lucina here."
Everyone in the hallway turned to face them. She started feeling uncomfortable. Everyone's gaze was on her. "Cia, what are you doing?"
Cia turned to her, getting right up to her face. "Our dear Lucina here did something quite horrible last week."
Her eyebrows furrowed. "What are you saying?"
"I'm sure you guys noticed that Robin and her are quite close, right?" Cia said. Everyone tilted their heads and started whispering to themselves. it looked like they were saying "who's Robin?" That's... sad.
"Cia, what are you doing?" Lucina said, worry rising within her. Did she know? But how? There was no one else at the beach that day, so how would she know? Unless she had sent a spy. But why would she spy on the two of them? But why the hell would Cia care about them. All she cared about was getting laid by all the boys in the school. No one in her bitch group gave a shit either. Wait. No. Tharja did. She remembered Robin telling about how Tharja spied on him multiple times. Oh god. Oh gods no. No. No no no. If this is going like how she thinks it is, it'll give Robin a lot of attention, attention she knows he doesn't want. But what is she gonna do about it. She can't do anything. The audio is already playing. His confession had already been heard. Her plan was being revealed to the entire school.
Everything around her started spinning as the voices in the crowd got louder. She felt something be poured on her. It was black and sticky, keeping her stuck down to the floor where she fell. People started screaming at her, shaming her, throwing their books at her. anything they had in their hands, in ended on her. Someone even threw their pencil, which almost stabbed her in the eye. She wouldn't have minded if it had though. She deserved everything wrong in the world to happen to her.
Marth looked down on her, horror written all over his face. "Lucina, is that all true? Were you really using Robin to get back with that damn manipulator who did nothing but hurt you?!"
Lucina looked up. "Hurt...me?"
Marth shook his head, disappointed, and walked away. She looked back down. Hurt her? Palutena did nothing of the sort. She was always there for her, she made her her own, she always told her when something was wrong. Sure, she felt a little insecure at times, but that was normal in a relationship, right? It was normal to doubt yourself all the time while you were around them. It was normal to feel like everything that went wrong was your fault even if it wasn't. It's okay when they hit you but apologize right after. It's okay if you're not allowed to do anything you want, only what they want.
"Lucina!"
She slowly looked up and saw Robin making his way through the crowd, though it seemed like he was struggling a lot.
"Robin," she said quietly. "Please, go."
He finally reached the front and crouched down in front of her. He tried touching the gooey liquid on her, but his hand immediately retracted once he touched it. His brow furrowed as he turned to Cia, who had a smirk on her face, and the rest of the crowd. The glare he gave them rendered them all quiet, wiping Cia's smirk right off their face.
"What's that glare for? I think I did you a favor by getting some revenge," Cia said.
"This is NONE of your business," he yelled humorlessly. "And neither is it any of yours. Should I know that you people were getting in my business again, I'll make sure I don't let it go easily."
Everyone decided that for their own safety, they should run the living fuck away before they get murdered or seriously screwed up. He clicked his tongue and turned to face her again. He took her hands gently and helped her up, though she did almost fall back down to the ground because she was kinda stuck to it.
"Are you alright?" Robin asked.
"...why did you help me?" Lucina said. "Why?"
Robin said nothing. "You should go to the showers and get yourself cleaned up."
She looked up at him, shocked, but nodded slightly. He let her go and walked to the opposite side of the hallway. She looked down and walked away.

Turns out what she was covered in must've been black slime because it took her a lot of hours to get it all out of her hair. She didn't bring another pair of clothes so she had to go out in her gym clothes, aka a tanktop and shorts. How embarrassing. She walked out of the shower and nearly had a heart attack when she realized someone was right next the entrance. And that someone was Robin. Her nerves shot through the roof.
"Uh, wh-what are you doing here?" she asked.
He turned his head to face her and smiled. "I think we need to talk."
They sat under a tree in the back of the school, a large distance between each other. By that I mean they sat at opposite sides of the tree. Lucina could barely speak right now, her nerves wouldn't let her. She had no idea how Robin was being so cool now. Maybe he got over it. If he did then, she's glad about. But why would he want to talk to her, then?
"Lucina?" Robin said.
"AH! Um, ahem, uh, yes?" Lucina said.
"I want you to tell me everything."
"...what?"
"About your plan, about you and Palutena's relationship. Everything."
"Are-are you sure? Wouldn't you just rather forget about this and me... and move on?"
"I want to understand why you did what you did. I'll decide then if I could even forgive you or not."
"Alright..."
She was silent. How was she gonna explain this? Where would she start? The plan?
"Go on," Robin said.
"Ah, sorry, um," Lucina said. "Well, after Palutena broke up with me, I just, well, broke. I was so depressed. She was my world, I needed her to survive. And when she left, I felt so drained and like there was no point in living. So... since I knew Palutena hated it when I was out with other people, and she didn't know you too well, I... I decided I would use you to get her back, to make her jealous and come back to me. I was never genuine with you after she broke up with me. I stopped being myself, and only focused on getting her back. That time at the festival? I separated us from to group to go to the cotton candy stand because I knew that was Palutena's favorite dessert. I wanted her to see us and be jealous that I was out with someone else.
"Whenever I got really close to you, Palutena or one of her friends was around. Whenever I posted pictures of us online, I would always post it to my public account, which Palutena's friends follow and would hope they showed it to her. I just wanted her back, I wanted her to come back to me. And I want you to believe me when I say that I never wanted this to happen. I never meant to hurt you, I never meant for you to fall for me. I just wanted to get back with her and have everything be the same as it was before we broke up. But clearly, that didn't happen."
Robin didn't say anything for a while. She wasn't sure how to take that silence. The most reasonable way she could take it is pure hatred as pure hatred for her.
"You said Palutena hated it when you went out with other people?" Robin said.
Huh. After all that silence, that's what he says? Okay then.
"Um, yeah, she didn't really like my friends so she would get annoyed when I went out with them," Lucina said. Now that she said it out loud, she realized how messed up that was. So what if Palutena didn't like some qualities of her friends, she liked them and that's what mattered.
"Anything else?"
"Well, she would often do things and make excuses for them, so that I would... forgive her," Lucina said, quieter as she spoke. "She would tell me to do things and if I didn't, she would threaten me that she would hurt herself, she... belittled herself. She was passive-aggressive, she... she controlled me." She felt nauseous, every breath she took getting harder and harder to take in.
"Lucina," Robin said softly. He crouched his way around the tree, peaking around it to check on Lucina. Her face was red and tears lined her eyes.
"Oh my god, oh my god! She was manipulating me! She made me think I only needed her, oh my god, oh my god," she covered her mouth, standing up quickly and ran behind a different tree not too far away.
"Wh-wait!" Robin sloppily stood up and walked to the tree. He could hear her groaning, and considering she looked a little nauseous, he could only assume she was throwing up.
He heard her mumble something, he couldn't make it out fully, but it was something along the lines of "and now I've become just like her" which broke his heart. She stepped out, panting hard. She cleared her throat and looked up at him, sadness and heartbreak splattered on her face.
"I'm sorry, Robin. I really am. I'm not asking you to forgive me after this, 'cause no matter what happened in my past, it doesn't excuse my actions, it doesn't excuse the fact that I hurt you badly. So, if you never want to talk to me ever again, I completely understand," she turned around, walking back to the school. "Goodbye, Robin."
Within minutes, she was out of sight. He sighed, finally feeling his knees give in. He'll be fully honest, that wasn't how he expected the conversation to go. He was hoping to get everything cleared up, forget it ever happened, and just go back to the good old days where everyone was happy. But, maybe, maybe it was better this way.
