The noble Felinne
The noble Felinne
Beloved Bastet, mistress of happiness and bounty, twin of the Sun God, slay the evil that afflicts our minds as you slay the serpent Apep.
With your graceful stealth anticipate the moves of all who perpetrate cruelties and stay their hands against the children of light.
Grant us the joy of song and dance, and ever watch over us in the lonely places in which we must walk.
Ancient Egyptian prayer to the goddess Bastet.
The noble Felinne, or the children of Bast, are a well-liked and highly regarded type of myre. Able to shift into one of any great cats since childhood, they are both powerful and esteemed in the supernatural world. A Felinne is able to shift into one cat only and does so with grace and fluidity.
They are great warriors and skilled diplomats. Many have brokered peace between warring factions and races, mostly due to their ability with words and instant likableness.
It has been said that the first Felinne was the goddess Bastet herself, who ruled over Egypt for thousands of years. She was the adviser to many Pharaos and pulled the strings in their shaping of the world, hidden from direct sight.
Said to be fickle in their choice of mates and general approach of life, Felinnes are as mysterious as they are fascinating. To this day the royal ancients always keep one on as a trusted adviser.
Pure.
Powerful.
Of high caste.
