They say when your about to die that memories of your life flashed before your eyes. Good or Bad memories all are shown as if the judge is also watching trying to decide to send you to heaven or hell. They say time even seems to slow down as your body takes it's lasts breaths. With this Y/n should have saw Vermila and Nero heck even Dante, but instead he saw red. 'I can't lay down and die! Vermila would kill me! I can't leave Nero alone again! So move you bastard! MOVE DAMNIT!!!'

Dokuhebi's venom first attacked the nervous system, a small amount to shut it down. Then it got to work breaking apart the muscle, the nervous system in shock should shut down. 'so how is he still moving!' Dokuhebi thought as he emptied his fangs into the hunter. Y/n was weakly breathing while lifting his arm, as his hand barely made contact he dug his fingers into the snakes tough hide as he did the only thing he could. Y/n bit the snake. Shocked by the action Dokuhebi threw the hunter against the wall. Y/n fell and used the wall to help himself to stand.

"How is this possible?! Your very muscles should be unraveling themselves like an old sweater! Your nervous system should be crashing harder than a toddler from a sugar high!! So how?!!"

"You cannot kill me! I am not human!" Y/n's skin around his shoulders across his torso was a sickly shade of purple as his shirt and jacket were torn stained with blood. His body flickered through his devil trigger although slightly changing. "You cannot kill Me! I am A NEPHALEM!!" Y/n shouts stabilizing his Trigger as it looked different, his wounds quickly healing as his body dispelled the toxins in his body.

"I'm not dying here! You venom may be tough snikgozzle back home. But I'm not just a Devil, my father was an Angel making me an abomination all around!"

"Your the Nephalem.... Then I cannot win. But I shall not die like a worm!" Filled with the pride of a warrior Dokuhebi rushed forward. Y/n rushed forward as well meeting the snake head on. In a few milliseconds the battle was over. The victor clear as Y/n exited his Trigger and watched as Dokuhebi crashed into the floor and rolled into the wall. "I guess it's now time. Take my soul and go forth, become strong."

"That is one promise I can keep." Y/n reached out as Dokuhebi's body body shone a dark purple and red before shrinking and taking shape in Y/n's hand. "Heh who would have thought you'd change into this of all things."
Dokuhebi turned into a katana that's as long as Renegade except it had the curve.

When Y/n unsheathed the sword light hit the blade giving it a purple tint.

"Well ain't that neet..." Y/n sheathed the blade. Y/n starts walking over to where Renegade is but after one step he immediately falls to the ground and passes out. Who knew almost dying was so exhausting?

-time skip brought to you by Nero struggling to create summon swords before one manifested, then he got startled by Lady causing it to go flying off breaking something-

Dante walked out of the chamber with his hair a poof ball from all the lightning. But hey he got some cool new gauntlets so not a complete waste. The room was a dead end so Dante went back through.

"Damn it's gonna take forever to catch up to- wait is that Y/n?" Looking over it was indeed the other Devil hunter clutching a katana in one hand while Renegade was stabbed into the ground next to his head. Y/n was dead asleep. "Hey Y/n wake up!"

No response from the hybrid. Dante thought for a minute before having a genius idea he grabbed Alastor off his back and angled it right over Y/n before thrusting down. In less than a second Dante found three blades aimed at his neck only stopped by Alastor. Dante also felt the point of what could only be assumed as summon swords aimed at his back. Somehow in a millisecond Y/n unsheathed the katana, grabbed Renegade, brought forth D/S, and summoned a few blades aimed at his attacker. Needless to say Dante was impressed.

"Oh ish ooo." Y/n said with D/S held in his teeth. Getting a strange look from Dante he realized it and dispelled the mystical weapon basically absorbing it back into his body. "Why'd you wake me up? Are we done alread- the sun's still setting!? Uuhh this day goes on forever."

"Stop being a drama queen and get up we got things to do and demons to kill." Dante said while getting up and walking over to Y/n's door, checking it out and seeing the torch was out, lighting the torch to see if it did anything happened Dante's curiosity was never satisfied as Y/n quickly used his newly acquired Devil arm to slash through the doors and continued walking leaving the doors to rot and crumble. "Well that's one way to do it."

Dante and Y/n kept walking running into another demon except this one had yoyos and breathed fire. 'Man this is a really long day' both hunters thought.

During their time traversing the island they fought a giant talking bird in a coliseum, fought the Devil knight again, saw Trish for a bit, and vowed to defeat Mundus.

"Gods this has been a long day." Y/n said as he thought about everything that happened over the past 3 or 4 hours. Looking out the window as it rained. Thunder boomed and Dante turned to face the sound of a sword being drawn. Y/n turned to face the armored devil. "Every time we've fought you always left before you could finish, but you never fought unfairly."

"Someone with guts and honor. I like that... but it's a shame you serve Mundus."

"You know it's probably a coincidence but my son and you have very similar names." Y/n gave a light chuckle. Having found out the name thanks to Dokuhebi. "Nelo Angelo, if only you didn't serve Mundus I feel like we could have been friends."

Nelo Angelo grasps their head as energy surrounded the dark knight causing a blinding light. When the light died down the helmet that Nelo Angelo wore was now gone now revealing their head of pale skin, long white hair, blue markings on their face, and glowing red eyes.

"Heh I guess this will be the final showdown."

"You bet Y/n." Dante said preparing his Alastor. "Let's get this party started."

"Let's dance!" Y/n said as he rushed in with Renegade and D/S. Both hunters charged in as the Devil knight ran to meet them head on. Y/n rushed forward using a Drill stinger but was deflected by Angelo's great sword. Dante followed Y/n using Alastor and slashing at the knight. Angelo was able to quickly maneuver the large blade to block Dante's swing but was soon met by an assault from Agni from above and Ifret from below. Thinking fast Nelo Angelo jumped back to avoid the attacks. Charging the massive sword it wielded with energy, Nelo Angelo counter attacked by rushing forward into a stinger like attack. Dante pulled out his shotgun and shot at the devil as he jumped into the air to avoid the blade. Y/n jumped up while shooting Nelo Angelo but kicked off the knights face to get more air time, while in the air Y/n used Dokuhebi to execute three Judgment cuts in a row before landing. Upon landing Dante and Y/n launch towards the distraught Devil with a stinger and rapid slash respectively. Y/n also sent several summoned swords at Nelo Angelo, to the Nephalem's surprise the devil could also use summoned swords and using their astral blades to cancel each other's out. Switching to Cryoreaper Y/n ran up and jumped into a windmill style attack.

Nelo Angelo held up their sword up to block the attack while Dante saw an opening rushed in to land a good 4 hit combo with Ifret while in Devil Trigger. With Nelo Angelo staggering Y/n took his own opening to his advantage, re-equipping Renegade and D/S Y/n dashed forward while Triggering then activating Doppelganger to summon his angelic double as they struck. Y/n attack in a fury of slashes as his Doppelganger did the same, Nelo Angelo takes heavy damage before dropping their sword as grabbing both Y/n and his double. Y/n was loosing oxygen and his neck was being crushed he didn't really have much of a way to get leverage, so resorting to the final option the Nephalem starts grabbing at Nelo's face and neck trying to do something anything before his vision went black. Dante was charging Ifret to the max before rushing in and delivering the nearly nuclear punch to Nelo Angelo causing Y/n to be thrown across the room.

Dante threw a few jabs before switching back over to Alastor and to everyone's surprise he also took out Force Edge and was duel wielding them. This tactic allowed Dante to gain the upper hand as Nelo Angelo was unarmed.

Meanwhile Y/n was on the floor gasping for air as his vision started to clear. Seeing something shine close by he blinked a few times to help clear up his sight. He saw what looked like a silver locket picking it up and opening it the hunters eyes widen in realization. Y/n scrambled to his feet and running forward.

"DANTE WAIT!!" Y/n shot Helios and Selene to knock the swords off course.

"What the hell Y/n?! I had them!"

"Dante it's Vermila!!"

"That's not possible."

"Catch," Y/n tossed Dante the locket as he went to check up on Nelo Angelo. He kneeled down "Hey there sorry for kinda kicking your butt," the injured Nelo Angelo simply looked up at him red eyes holding faint recognition but no dice. "I figured you just stay here you lost but you won't die here. I'll get you your soul back, as I bury Mundus in the ground!"

Y/n left a vital star as Dante returned her locket.

"Eh sorry sis don't worry we'll get you home to your little rugrat." Dante said as they both turned and left. Leaving Nelo Angelo to simply pass out.

- time skip brought to you by Nero in a ducky towel after a bubble bath-

"Oi Dante you think Nero would like this?"

"Like what?" Dante asked as he pulled his sword out of a disintegrating demon. "Also shouldn't we be a bit more focused on taking down Mundus?"

Y/n was digging around an abandoned ship that they were on for clothes as his were damaged beyond repair and a final look around for a souvenir for Nero. Emerging from the captains quarters Y/n could be seen wearing a different coat that reached his knees.

And underneath it was a black and gray vest that ended just above mid thigh.

"Did you just take a dead person's clothes?"

"They weren't using them, besides is we're gonna fight the demon king can't go in there all exposed. Imagine the scolding I'd get from Vermila."  Y/n said as he walked towards Dante. "Look at this I think Nero would like it."

"What is it?"

"I think it's an armband, but it's cool looking right?"

"I'm sure your kid'll love it but we gotta go find Trish."

"I'll just put this somewhere."

"Hey Y/n can I see that for a moment?" Dante asked as Y/n held it out for Dante to see it better.

"Sure why?"

"Nothing just thought I've seen it somewhere before." Dante finished as they continued walking. Y/n putting the armband in the space he put his Devil Arms.

A/n: alright well that's a wrap, I know I skipped over a lot of stuff but there's not really a whole lotta story cutscenes in Devil May Cry. Also I wasn't sure on how to write the saving Vermila part so some constructive criticism would be appreciated. Anyhow cíao.
