EXTRA - Benji Is A Cupcake Cheater

HELLO!!! So this is just a v small scene I thought of last night while re-reading this story (I'm pretty sure Lucy and Benji are my number ones lmao) It was the part where Benji was telling Lucy about how his dad put things up high when his mom was mad so she'd ask him for help. Well, it doesn't quite work on Lucy...I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!! :) There will be another extra soon! It will be chapter 6 in Benji's point of view!

------------------------------

"Benji!" I yelled. "Get your ass in here!" My voice echoed through our house, hopefully reaching the stairs and into the guest room where Benji's was sleeping.

I kicked him out of bed the night before. We had a really small fight over the new bakery in town. He betrayed me and went there just to "check out the competition", but I don't think he needed to eat three cupcakes. When I thought about it, it sounded ridiculous. He betrayed Enchanted Sweets.

Upstairs, I heard Benji's footsteps and then he started walking down the stairs. He emerged into the kitchen and he looked like he was dressed and ready for the day. "You were up this whole time?" I asked.

He nodded and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "I have band practice. Now why the hell are you yelling at me again? I didn't go back to Cherry On Top."

My eyes widened. "You remembered the stupid name?" It's actually not stupid at all. It's pretty clever actually...and cute.

"So do you," he retorted.

He got me there. "I don't care," I said quickly. "Why is all my baking stuff on the top of the cabinets? And my step ladder is missing from the pantry."

Benji grinned. "I might have gotten back up after you went to bed without me last night."

I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him. "So you thought it'd be funny to put all of my baking stuff where I can't reach it?"

Benji nodded. "And because I knew you'd need my help to get it down."

I stepped up to him and jabbed his chest. "That's where you're wrong," I told him. "I don't need your help getting it down. I can do it by myself."

"Then why did you call me down here?"

Instead of answering him, I clenched my jaw and turned around to face the counters. I boosted myself up on the counter so I landed on my knees and then I slowly stood up. As I reached up, my fingers barely grazed the top of the cabinets. "I have to make my sister cupcakes for her birthday," I said, still trying to reach, so I lifted myself up on my toes.

"Go to the bakery," Benji replied.

"You know it's closed!" I retorted, getting even more angry because I can't reach. "They're still putting in the new tile!"

Benji chuckled behind me. "Bummer."

I braced my hands on the edges and slightly pulled myself up a little more. The only thing I managed to get was my container of cupcake liners. It was a small victory that made me a little happy, but then I thought about the rest I couldn't get. And by the rest, I meant all of it including the sugar and flour. That didn't stop me from trying to get the rest.

"This is not how this was supposed to work," Benji said and placed his hand on the back of my thigh, just under my pajama shorts.

"I know," I grumbled and tried to go for the sugar. "I'm not giving you what you want."

"You already do."

My heart skipped for a second. That could've been taken many ways, but it's Benji. I knew what he meant.

"Come on," Benji continued. "Let me get it so you don't hurt yourself."

My fingers barely touch the sugar. "No."

"Lucy."

"Benji."

He wrapped his arms around my hips and lifted me off the counter. "I'll do it," he said.

When my feet touched the floor, I stepped out of his grip. "I almost had it!"

Benji snorted and moved towards the counter. "By almost had it, do you mean at least touching it? There was no way you were getting it."

"If you would've given me a chance, I would've figured it out," I snapped.

Benji laughed again and kneeled on the counter to get the rest of my baking stuff down. He did it quickly, not leaving one thing up there. He got down and then stood in front of me. I had to tilt my head back to look up at him, but I'm used to it. "Are you done being mad at me now?" He questioned.

I settled my hands on my hips and said, "No."

"You made me sleep in the extra bedroom," he informed me like I didn't know that already. "It was the first time I slept without you in this house."

My stance was breaking.

"Enchanted Sweets has been closed. You got mad at me over a cupcake—"

"Three cupcakes," I corrected.

Benji was trying not to laugh. "You're being ridiculous."

"Then do something, Benji."

He raised his hands to my face, lightly grasping my cheeks. Bowing forward, his lips collapsed over my own. I kissed him back without hesitation. Benji makes me weak. He just kisses me and every ounce of anger disappears. Maybe I was being stupid. When I thought about it, I wanted to laugh.

I was mad at Benji over him eating cupcakes. Out of all the things I could get mad at, it was that.

"I love you," he murmured against my mouth.

Tilting my head back, our gazes locked. "I love you, too."

Benji poked the tip of my nose and smiled. "Band practice isn't for another hour," he whispered. "Come on. I'll make it better."

I followed Benji up the stairs and into the comfort of our room. Benji lead me towards the bed and dropped down before bringing me with him. He gathered me into his arms and held me close like I'd get away. "It's weird living on our own," I said softly. "It's been a month, but still."

Benji kissed my forehead. "I think it was about time it happened," he admitted. "Now I get you all to myself twenty-four-seven."

I laughed and lightly touched his cheek. "I guess we both have a problem with sharing."

"I'm still going to put things up high when you're mad at me," he noted. "It did get you to talk to me again."

"I know you will," I said. "Where's my ladder?"

Benji slowly smirked. "The coat closet by the front door."

I gasped. "You're so mean!"

Benji started laughing again. "You knew I had to hide it."

"And you knew I'd ask you for help," I said. "But I didn't because that's exactly what you wanted. I know you, Benji."

He kissed me softly, but still had a smile on his face when he pulled away. "I love that. I also knew that you wouldn't fall for it."

"Then why did you do it?"

"Because I knew you'd yell at me," he said with a grin. "So at least I got you to talk to me, Luce."

I kissed him again and continued kissing him to make up for being an asshole. "I love you so much," I told him. "The fight was stupid, but oddly funny. You cheated on me with somebody else's cupcakes."

A laugh fell from Benji's lips. "I'll never go there again."

"I don't care," I muttered. "It's cupcakes."

"But they're not your cupcakes."

I couldn't stop my smile. "Mine are better."

Benji wiggled his eyebrows, which caused up both to crack up laughing. "Yes," he said, "yours are definitely better."

I reeled him in for another kiss. Benji's lips were always so soft and very kissable, it's hard to just kiss him only once. He never had a problem with that either. I kept kissing him until I couldn't breathe. "I gotta go make those," I said quietly. "We'll do something tonight when you get home."

"I already have something in mind," he teased and dropped his head to my neck.

I weaved my fingers through the back of his hair. "Yeah?"

Benji hummed against my skin and slowly kissed his way down the center of my throat. He stopped there and dragged his lips to the side of my neck. His mouth parted and he sucked on the small patch to leave his mark. I gasped at the small pinch of Benji's bite and sighed. "I'll bring home dinner," he murmured and kissed the spot his just bit.

"That's fine," I managed.

"I should go," he said, but didn't stop kissing my neck.

I whimpered. "It hasn't been an hour."

"I never said I was finished," he went on. "I just have to put it on pause." He leveled his face above mine and kissed my lips.

"I'll never kick you out of bed again," I said with a teasing smile.

Benji's smile widened. "We'll see about that." He kissed me once more and climbed out of bed. When he looked at me, I could tell he didn't want to leave. "I'll call you before I leave Tyler and Maggie's."

I nodded. "I'll have cupcakes for you when you get home."

Benji fought another smile. "I love you."

My smile stretched to my ears. "I love you."
