SIX YEARS HAD passed since she departed the Kingdom, leaving behind a trail of both success and sorrow. Her absence had been deeply felt, but the impact of her actions on the Kingdom had been nothing short of remarkable. Those who knew her closely found themselves grappling with a bittersweet mix of emotions-pride for her achievements and yet an ache for her presence. But among all, the one most affected was the King of the Wilderwest, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock The Third. Camicazi, a crazy-haired blonde girl and one of his closest friends, had left an indelible mark on his heart. Now, on the cusp of his twentieth birthday, he found himself reminiscing about the days they had shared before she embarked on her journey.
Siz years ago...
"Hiccup! I mean, your majesty."
"Camicazi, haven't I told you not to call me that?"
"Sorry."
"What is it? Is something troubling you?"
"I wanted to seek your permission to go on a quest."
"A quest? For what purpose?"
"I wish to venture beyond the kingdom to make allies and secure a brighter future for our realm."
"No, Camicazi. It's far too perilous, and I can't bear the thought of you being endangered."
"You mustn't be overprotective, Hiccup. You know that danger is my favorite companion, and I won't be alone. Stormfly and Sky will be with me." (A/N: Sky is a Deadly Nadder, while Stormfly is a mood dragon.)
"Camicazi, you're still too young for such a quest. I cannot allow it."
"And so were you when we embarked on our past quests. Please, Hiccup, let me do this. I'm doing it for the sake of our people."
"Very well, but are you absolutely sure about this decision?"
"Absolutely."
"Then, when will you leave?"
"In a few days."
"Just promise me that you'll take care of yourself, write to us often, and promise me you'll return."
"I promise. A Bog-Burglar never breaks their word, and you know I can take care of myself. No one can keep me locked away."
A few days later, Hiccup stood on the cliff, watching Camicazi fly away from the Kingdom.
End of flashback
"Hello, Hiccup, to Midgard," said Fishlegs, waving his hand in front of Hiccup's face.
Fishlegs, a lanky man with curly black hair and blue eyes, was one of Hiccup's best friends and second in command, as well as the chief of the No-Name tribe.
"Oh, Fishlegs, it's you," Hiccup muttered.
"It's Camicazi, isn't it?" Fishlegs asked perceptively.
Hiccup nodded. "It has been six years since she left. When will she come back, or will she ever? Is she alright? What might have happened to her?"
"Relax. Knowing Camicazi, she's doing well and can handle herself. She'll return; she promised, and she never breaks her promises. Trust her."
Hiccup managed a smile, comforted by Fishlegs' reassurance.
"Thank you. That truly means a lot."
"You're very welcome, Your Highness," Fishlegs mockingly bowed.
Hiccup laughed and said, "You know that's very funny, and I told you not to call me that. It's too intimidating."
"I'm just trying to lighten the mood. That's what friends are for, right?"
"Yes, you're right."
"Now, you better cheer up because your birthday is just a few days away."
"Alright."
A few days later, Hiccup's birthday arrived, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and busyness. People wore their finest clothes and brought numerous gifts to celebrate with their beloved King. But amidst the jubilation, Hiccup couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness due to the absence of one person. As the night progressed, the castle hall filled with music and laughter, and eventually, it was time for "The Dance."
"The Dance" was the moment when the King, or Hiccup in this case, chose a partner from among all the unmarried women in the Kingdom to dance with.
"Listen, everyone! It's the most awaited moment of the night. The Dance is here! All unmarried women, please gather around the center, so the King can choose his dance partner."
The women were giddy with excitement, discussing who might catch Hiccup's eye.
"I bet it's me. I am the most beautiful woman here," boasted Harrietahorse.
"No way! I have the most elegant dress. He's sure to pick me," said Ruffnut.
"Dream on. I'm a royalty, just like him. He'll choose me," declared Fatnose.
Hiccup wasn't particularly thrilled about the prospect of dancing with any of them. His heart yearned for someone else. However, he had a duty to fulfill, so he chose a woman wearing a long white fur cape with a hoodie and invited her to dance.
"May I have this dance?"
"Why me? There are other more beautiful and taller women here."
"Because I believe you're different from them."
"In that case, Your Highness, I'd love to dance with you."
As they took the floor, Hiccup asked her to remove her hood.
"Is that really necessary?"
"Yes, please."
"Alright, then."
The woman removed her hood, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful young lady with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slightly freckled face. Hiccup was taken aback, for the face he beheld belonged to none other than someone he knew well.
"Camicazi! Oh, by Thor! It's really you. Thank the gods you've returned. I've missed you so much," he exclaimed joyously as he lifted her in the air.
"Put me down, Hiccup. Yes, it's me, you doofus. I missed you too."
"I knew it."
"And goodness, puberty has done wonders for you. You're physically stronger and, ahem, quite attractive," she said, blushing and paying Hiccup a compliment.
"Thank you. You're beautiful, too. Shall we dance?"
"Yes, and before I forget, happy birthday!" she said with a warm smile.
They took to the floor; their movements were gracefully synchronized, and the audience was captivated by their dance. When it ended, Hiccup and Camicazi took the opportunity to catch up with each other. Before long, Hiccup decided to seize the moment and finally confess his feelings for her.
"Camicazi?"
"Yes?"
"I need to tell you something, but don't be angry, okay?"
"What is it?"
"I have feelings for you. I love you so much," Hiccup confessed nervously.
Camicazi looked taken aback for a moment before a smile crept onto her face.
"Okay, I understand if you think it's a joke, but it's true."
Without a word, Camicazi leaned in, pressing her soft lips against his. A feeling of euphoria washed over Hiccup, and the world seemed to stand still. The kiss was long, passionate, and sweet, leaving Hiccup elated.
As they broke apart, Hiccup stuttered, "I-I.."
"I love you too, babe. Now stop stuttering and kiss me again," she said, making him the happiest man in the world that day.
The next morning, Hiccup woke up to find his room filled with gifts. But amidst all the material possessions, he knew that the best gift was Camicazi's return and her love.

A/N2: I hope you enjoyed it. My first one-shot is complete. While it's actually Hiccstrid but I decided to merge Astrid and Camicazi into one character for this story. Anyway, that's all for now.
A/N3: Hello! After years of being inactive due to pursuing personal endeavors, I've decided to revisit some of my past works and update them. I've added more vivid descriptions and improved the overall syntax of the story. I hope that you'll enjoy reading the updated version.
Sincerely,
ACNHHH
