Ch:6 Save me from these lunatics

"So how was school?" Papa asked while chewing the end of his pen.

"Winter! Let her tell us if she wants to. Don't pressurize her into telling us, we are NOT that kind of parents." Dad shook his head to emphasize his point.

I raised my eyebrow and gave him a look, "You guys are already that kind of parents, whatever that means. But yeah, today was a good day. I became friends with the guy I have been telling you about."

Dad nodded, "James, right? Bring him around sometimes, I want to meet him."

Papa snorted and muttered, "So much for not becoming one of those parents, huh Jack?"

But Dad being Dad, ignored this comment like it was never said.

"Yeah, James Elliot. Heard about the Elliot family?" I asked digging around a bit.

Dad gave me a deadpanned look, "Unless their one kid is in my college, no I haven't."

Papa just shrugged and said, "That name does sound familiar. But I am pretty sure there could be many Elliot families round here."

"Yeah, but all I know about James family is that his parents are hardcore Harry Potter fans." I said, solving an algebra problem at the same time.

Dad snorted, "Yeah, that pretty much made them the best people in your eyes, eh Red?"

I smirked at my notebook, glancing up to give him a look, "You know me so well."

"I did changed your diapers when you were little and shopped for tampons, and pads when you hit your first period." He laughed.

I rolled my eyes, letting him enjoy what was left of his life before passing Papa note.

'Do it. You have my support.'

Papa smiled, because let's be honest he just can't smirk. Dad was still recounting my embarrassing memories of childhood and adolescence. Suddenly, too quick for Dad to even think what is happening, Papa jumped on him, tickling the life out of him.

Dad was silent for a whole second before yelling at Papa to stop, rolling around laughing, "W..winter I fucking swear to god, st..op it. Red, h...elp me."

I smiled wickedly, "I would but I have another forty two questions to solve, sorry Dad, you are on your own."

Soon enough, Papa had released Dad and both were in a heap chucking breathlessly.
I smiled, "I live with children."

Dad leaned on Papa and with twinkling eyes, he said, "Every one should never kill their inner child, no matter how old their body get."

Closing my book, I chuckle, "Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Dad. You and I, both know you are getting too old."

He snorted, opening his mouth to retort or something, when I jumped on him. That, ladies and gentlemen and the rest, started round two of ground wrestling.

Soon all three of us, were laying on the floor, staring at the ugly ceiling.

I smiled, there is nowhere else I rather be.

_________[ONE HOUR LATER : spongebob voice]________

I take that back, someone save me from these lunatics.

"You what?" I exclaimed, pacing in the living room.

Papa chewed his bottom lips, his eyes nervously going between me and Dad.

"I found Elliot's family number in that number book no one uses. So I figured, why not invite them? I mean, James is your friend right?" Dad said, examining his toenails.

I ran my hand into the black hair that looks just like him. I regret telling them James's name.

"I don't believe you, I am ninety seven percent sure that you would have invited wrong family over." I said, staring desperately at my Dad.

"Oh hush. I am not an idiot" I snorted at his response, "I invited the only Elliot family living in the area. There were four of them, until recently, but three of them moved away."

I raised my eyebrows, "So that means, I am going to endure a dinner -a whole fucking dinner- with you and his parents? Not to mention James too? God, the level of awkwardness I am going to face in one night." I stomped my feet, cursing my fate.

"Nora, language." Papa said rolling his eyes, too used of my over dramatical tendencies.

"Yeah, Nora fucking language." Dad snickered and ran a hand into his wild black hair.

Hypocrisy at it's freaking peak.

"Honestly Dad, you should had me when you were mentally prepared to be a parent. I sympathize with myself. No wonder I turned out the way I am."

"Hey! I am not the only one to blame, I think your aunt might have dropped you when you were a baby." He said, glaring at me.

"Actually, I can imagine Aunt Laurel can do it." I agreed, thinking about the women who looked way too much like Papa, the one who gave birth to me.

Papa hesitated, "You know you can call her Mom, she did gave you birth. Jack and I wouldn't mind."

Dad's eyes widened a bit, he rubbed his head and nodded, "Yeah, not like we both have anything to lose."

I stared at them long and hard, before taking a breathe to calm myself. They do have something to lose, they are my parents, not her. I don't have anything against Aunt Laurel, but she is not my mother or my parent. I have two Dads.

"Guys, I would not call Aunt Laurel mom, she is my surrogate mother, I have discussed this with her. She is not my parent, I won't call her Mom. Please understand." I begged quietly.

I never beg, I just hope this gets the message across.

"Of course, princess." Dad said, exhaling silently.

I smiled at him.
"Fucking cliché names you both call me. Princess? Red? Ray? Really guys? A four year old can pick better names" I snickered, doing a quick one eighty turn in my demeanor.

"Hey, I like the name Ray, it's cute. I picked it up the day you were born." Papa pouted, his gray eyes wide.

"Not as cute as Red." Dad muttered under his breathe.

I shook my head, "You dorks."

"Is that a way to talk to your parents, Ray?" Papa said, his eyes twinkling.

"Oh no. Don't you dare what I think you are about to do. I am a seventeen year old bad-ass, I DON'T need tickle attacks, no." I said, backing up against the wall.

Dad snorted, "You are never too old for TICKLE ATTACKS!"

I yelped as they both jumped on me, tickling me mercilessly. Trashing around wildly, I tried to yell at them, but as soon as I opened my mouth, Dad shoved a fist full of my own hair in my mouth.

Gross.

When finally they stopped I rushed to get cover behind the couch."No more." I grasped, as I tried to catch my breathe.

"Yeah, yeah. No more, roger that." Papa said, saluting me. I rolled my eyes, dork.

"By the way, I think it's time to discuss about the Elliot family. We do need to be prepared." Dad said, leaning against Papa's chest.

Papa grimaced, "Yeah, let's prepare for a battle."

More like a war.
