The next morning, King shook the boys to wake them. Arthit and Kong woke up and saw each other in embrace.

" You are warm.." Arthit mumbled, burrying his head in Kongpob's cloak.

" Serves you right. .." Kong hit back of Arthit's  head " What are we doing at the lake? " Kong asked.
" I don't remember" Arthit frowned.

" If I get cold, I am making you wash my snotty handkerchiefs" Kong glared.

" Why ? I may get cold too ..."

"Good, then you will know it's plain stupid to sleep by the lake in a winter night. I am confident, it was your idea to sleep by lake side. You like this lake too much."

" Then, aren't you more stupid to actually agree to my idea? " Arthit asked, folding his hands and puffing his cheeks.

Kongpob's nostrils flared " I will show you intelligent ... never talk to me again."

And Kong stomped back to the royal palace, following the footsteps of the King, Arthit ran behind Kongpob, catching up to him, he poked Kong nonstop no making him kick his leg.

" Stop" Kong hissed.

Arthot made some hand gestures. " What are you saying? Talk "

" You said not to talk to you ..." Arthit answered innocently " I was trying to say, I'm sorry, don't be angry."

" I'm not angry, I'm annoyed Arthit. There is a difference. "

Arthit furrowed his brows " What Is the difference? You are not talking to me in both cases. I find them same. "

" Why do I even tell you anything ? " Don't you come near me."

Arthit stood a hand's distance apart, found a stick and put it between two of them so that it will touch both their bodies.

" I said don't touch me" Kong turned to him glaring.

Arthit looked at the stick and yelled " He said don't touch him. " Then he turned to Kong " I told him but he doesn't understand Kongpob. He doesn't has a brain."

Kong bit his cheek to stop laughing " Just like you " he chuckled

Arthit grinned , " You are laughing. Are we okay now? You will talk to me? "

Kong made a face " Will you ever let me be in peace if I stop talking to you ? "

Arthit grinned " Peace is only when we are together, Khun Arak and his charge"

The King smiled. If only the kids knew full meaning of the things they say.

Months passes in a blur, but Arthit and Kongpob's friendship was constant. They bickering, fought,  yelled, played but never stayed apart.

Arthit even asked for a room adjoint to Kongpob as his birthday gift, which King did grant him.

As promised to Saeng ( the golden wolf of Khun Arak/perawat/Arthit), the King did not reveal their true identities to anyone, not even to his dearest friend Kiet.

They laid at the rooftop, on a soft muslin rug, wrapped in fur blankets.

" Kongpob " Arthit turned to his charge, best friend  and butler.

Kong turned to look at him " What ? You know I was counting stars ! Now, I lost my count! " he looked devastated at the night sky.

" Sorry ..."

"...." Kong was just sadly looking at the night sky.

" I said sorry na Jaa.."

Kong turned at look at Arthit angrily, his cheeks puffed adorably while he glared at Arthit " I am counting those stars since one month ...I can't reach till thousand...today I counted till nine hundred! And you disturbed me ..."

" Sorry ..." holding the lobe of his ears with his hands, Arthit looked at his friend " Sorry na ja...I will help you count it..."

" Do you even know how to count till  thousand ? "

" I will learn na Jaa...you teach me..."

Angrily, Kong turned his back to Arthit
" No..."

" Why ? I want to help you na..."

"Why ? "
" Because , You are my charge and I am your Khun Arak."

" I don't want your help..."

" Because , you are my best friend..." Arthit tried to pull Kong towards him but later didn't buzz.

" No... everyone says alphas are only good friends with alphas..."

" Who Said that ? I'm an alpha and I am best friends with you. My Mae and por were friends before they married and my Mae is omega..."

Kongpob turned to Arthit " I don't want to be your best friend! "

" Why ? "

" Because alphas are not good friends, they leave and go far away...making other person sad... Alphas are bad ...like my dad"

" Your dad leave you ? " Arthit questioned.
Arthit had only once met Khun Kiet's alpha and didn't like him in first glance only.

Kongpob just threw Arthit a nasty look and walked away...

" Kongpob..." Arthit kept tailing Kong since last one hour but Kong wasn't talking to him.

The maids and other adults in the hallways kept throwing the duo amazed glance but, as always the pair were lost in their own world.

" Argh..." Arthit screamed as he purposely banged his foot against leg of a table. " I think I broke my ankle ....aarghh..." The nearest maid tried to run to his aid but he just shook his head at her.

" Oon..." all anger forgotten, Kong ran to him. " Does it hurt ? " He asked, lightly prodding the red area around the ankle.

" Naah..." Arthit shrugged, trying to look brave.

Kong narrowed his eyes " You are lying. "

Hearing this, big fat tears filled Arthit's eyes " I was trying to pretend hurt...but I really got hurt na,  Ai Kong ! " Arthit wailed freely, holding his aching leg.

Kong shook his head, " You are stupid. Why would you bang your leg purposely like that?"

" Because, you weren't talking to me..."

" So ? "

" I wanted to talk to you? "

" Why didn't you break your leg then ? I would talk all night to you —"

" But , that would hurt so much Ai Kong — "

Kong sighed " I need to change my Khun Arak! "

" You can't...you promised.."

Kong just gave him a fed up glance " Come on...get up " Kong pulled Arthit's hand.

Arthit remained sitted, looking stubbornly at Kong " First promise me , only I will be your Khun Arak?  "

" Do you see a line of alphas here, wanting to be my protector? "

" Promise me, even if there is, you will choose me"

" How can I promise you that ? Khun Arak is smart and strong and very good person. You are plain stupid. You don't even eat your vegetable, you hurt your own leg... what if you broke it ? Then how will you be my Khun Arak ? Khun Arak must protect his charge for life... and you can even walk on your own, I will have to help you.."

"I promise I will study hard, I will become smart. "

" What about strong part ? "

" I will eat all my vegetables and never miss my training. I will become strongest warrior , strongest alpha of our clan. " Arthit kept his open palm on his heart, as he has seen elders to do when taking an oath.

" Whole country. "

" Huh ? "

" I want my Khun Arak to be most smart and handsome in whole country..."

" Whole country then..." Arthit smiled showing his teeth, his eyes sparkled as an idea came to his mind. " But you have to promise to never stop talking to me.."

" What about you hurting yourself ? "

" Never do it. Promise..."

" What about stupidity? "

" I will become smart when you stop giving hugs for stupidity" Arthit grinned cheekily " until then, I aspire to be most stupid alpha in the whole world...." he shouted,  laughing.

" Okay, stop" Kong chuckled " people will think you are not only stupid but crazy too"

" i will go crazy if you stop talking. "

" You are already a menace, i shudder to think what will you becone if you go crazy. ...I will never stop talking, come "

Kong held Arthit by waist and helped him walk to the nurse.

Roof of royal palace

" Ai Kong ..."

" hmm.."

" Why were you counting thousand stars ? "

"If I count thousand stars, then Khun Arak will complete one wish of mine."

Arthit's lips trembled in anger "I  am your Khun Arak! "

Kong turned to look at Arthit " You are special  Khun Arak. Only mine. " Arthit grinned at him and Kong sadly smiled looking at the stars "I am talking about common Khun Arak... "

" What wish do you want to make ? "

" I have two...but Khun Arak only gives one wish at a time."

" Then let's count together. I will let you make a wish in my place. "

Kongpob's eyes lighted up . " You will ? You dont have your own wish."

Arthit nodded his head eagerly. " Yeah. But my wish is you and I already have you so you can have my wish.  What wish do you want to make?"

" A good alpha who will take care of my Por and never leave him alone." Kong answered morose.

Seeing Kong looking sad, Arthit hugged Kongpob. " Was your dad not a good alpha? "

"Worst.  He alpha commanded por to do things por refused to do. He brought pretty omegas home and told por how he was unworthy of being an omega.
I saw por crying every night. The day he left, he called por ugly and said he was going to live with pretty omega who knows how to conduct himself like an omega" 

" Was your dad blind ?"

" No..."

" He must be , because uncle Kiet is so beautiful! Most beautiful in our palace. " Arthit said, confused. " My Mae says, your por had many powerful aphas liking him."

" Your Mae said that ? "

" Yeah, mae and por were talking and I heard them. We were playing hide and seek and I was hiding in the cupboard. "

" You are such a big cheater" Kong narrowed his eyes " that is why I couldn't catch you that day, you knew I wouldn't enter King's chambers."

Arthit smirked " Isn't it for the best? Or how would I know that my grandfather was rooting for your por to be my father's mate. But your por loved your dad. "

" I wonder why would my por even mate a jerk alpha like that. You know, Dad said omegas are supposed to be pretty. Por has muscles , he likes excercise and duelling on occasion. Dad said it was not what omegas were supposed to do. Excercising and weapons are for alphas.   When por said omegas could duel, he alpha commanded por to duel with him without any weapon while he had dagger in hand. —"

Red descended Arthit's eyes, while his claws grew " He hurt uncle kiet? "

" No, he was about to, but I pushed him, he didn't budge, he raised his dagger at me and then fainted like a sack of potato...cracked his skull...spent three months in hospital " ( Kong unconsciously used his pheromones.)

" Good" Arthit hummed " He should have broke his fingers and hands too."

" I hate alphas like that."

" Me too. " Arthit hummed munching on his chips. " If he comes again, you let me know, I will separate his 206 bones apart."

Kong just shrugged " He said por not to make me like him."

" That is why you train so hard? "

" Yeah." Kongpob's jaw clenched " I am going to be master every weapon, not just duel on occasions. And I'm going to grow so many muscles that people will mistake me for alpha."

" I don't think so." Arthit looked at Kong " I think you will still be pretty beautiful. "

" Nobody thinks a man with muscle with beautiful."

" Then, people are stupid" Arthit took out a chocolate " There are so many omegas, everyone different but all of them are beautiful because they care for people around them. Most of the healers, caretakers, gardeners are omegas. Omegas can make beautiful things. Alphas destroy them.
No matter how many muscles omega gain, he will still have a kind face and beautiful heart."

Kongpob looked at the almost empty hamper, the pile of wrappers was just getting big and big." Stop pigging, leave something for me too."

Arthit scratched the back of his head " There is just one kit kat left."

Kong fumed " You ate all the chips and ice cream and chocolate too? Do you have a stomach or black hole? "

"I will bring more for you, wait a minute. "

" and you will not eat one more chocolate..not even one bite.." Kong warned.

Arthit mock saluted him and ran to find someone that will bring  them more food to eat.

After few minutes, Arthit came back and sat beside Kongpob
"Ai Kong "

" Hmmm..." Kong hummed absent mindedly.

"Do you want me to ask my por to find a good alpha for Khun kiet ? "

" No.." Kong shook his head " I only want to ask Khun Arak."

Arthit's shoulder sagged . " Okay...tell me second wish.."

" A good alpha mate who will never leave Kong, even if he is angry."

" This wish, I can give you " Arthit excitedly turned towards Kong " When we grow up, you marry me. I will never leave you.."

" No..."

" Why ? Did I ever leave you, you get angry at me every five minutes... "

" Then who will punish my alpha if he breaks our promise and leave me alone ? " Kong shouted. " If my alpha ever leaves me, you punish him....you ..you break his leg so he can never walk away again and break his hand too, so he will never touch another"

" Do you want a lame alpha? So he won't be able to run away ? "

" I will make you break his leg, so he will not be able to run away with anyone then i will leave him. I dont want to live with alpha who don't want to live with me."

Arthit looked at Kong warily " You are very dangerous.."

Kong averted his eyes " I don't like alpha mates who leave their omega alone."

Arthit hugged Kong " I will never leave you."

" You are not my mate."

Arthit scrunched his nose and narrowed his eyes " I am more than your mate. "

Kong took a minute to think " My alpha Khun Arak! "

Arthit grunted.  " Your Alpha . Your Guardian spirit. By the way, if you are going to grow so many muscles and learn every weapon , then why do you need me to break your alphas leg? You can do that on your own? "

Kong knitted his brows in confusion " Why will I dirty my hands when I have you ? "

Arthit mock shuddered " You are very very dangerous, Kongpob Suthiluck.  I fear for the alpha who will mate you."

Kong smirked " That's why I said, don't mate me."

Arthit shrugged " I know how to handle you... whenever you get angry at me, I will just ask the kitchen to make meatballs."

Kong chuckled " you got me figured out"

Arthit shrugged " my por says Any alpha who doesn't know how to handle his furious omega, isn't an alpha worth his salt. "

They bickered back and forth for some time before settling in to their blankets.

"Now, let's count stars."

For six Whole months, they counted stars each night. They were able to complete one thousand count only on two days, both being done by Arthit, Kong was long asleep by then.

Arthit wished on his behalf.

" Dear Khun Fen. If you are listening, send a good caring Alpha to love Uncle Kiet and Kong. Also, in future, give Kong a strong, smart and good alpha who likes Kong very much. He must share his best things with Kong and love him like a treasure even if Kong grows muscles like Hulk. He must never leave him, no matter how big the fight is...just like me... and if he hurts , give me so much power that I will separate his 206 bones apart." 

The moon smiled at them..

Arthit frowned " I asked for three wishes, didn't I? " He scratched his head, thinking for solution then smiled " Do you have overdraft system like credit card? You grant me the wish first and I promise to count thousand stars within a month?

in past too , Prachaya(singto) didn't easily give in.
Also, in this life, they are best friends, so he is just bickering. He doesn't say anything seriously. If someone else will dare call Arth stupid , Kong will break their teeth for sure 😅
