11 | THE WOMAN IN THE DREAMS

"IF IT WEREN'T a Velasquez?" Estrella heard someone say behind her. She could recognize the voice of Pansy Parkinson anywhere. It's was hard not too due to its loudness.

Estrella smirked, looking at her over her shoulder. "What do you want?" Estrella asked her, raising her head tall.

"Just to remind how pathetic you are. Mudblood." She said to her.

Estrella let out a laugh, which shocked Pansy. "I pity you. Always needed to be a loud sifrina, lloriquiando por todo." Estrella said to her, causing confusion in her. (stuck up crying about everything) "What was it? Malfoy didn't return the looks you were giving him? Pobrecita?" She said mocking fake tears. (Poor her)

"I saw you cry in the halls!" Pansy snapped at her.

"At least I got an excuse to do so." Estrella said before flipped her hair to the side. Then she turned and began skipping her way down the hall. She was more than happy she was able to put Pansy on her place. But as soon as she spotted Malfoy and his goons, she stopped in front of him.

The blonde's eyes were already on her. "What?" He asked her, less harsh than before.

"I will watch out for Pansy. She can be a bit annoying." She said to him. She narrowed her calculating eyes on him. "What did you do? Ignore her?" Estrella casually asked him. "She is a bit more noisy this morning than usual." She added. It took everything on Draco not to laugh at the 'confused and curious' look Estrella was giving him.

But Draco knew the brunette was more clever than people gave her credit for. "Have good day Malfoy." She said to him before continuing her way down the hall.

As in on cue, Draco saw Pansy walk out of the hall Estrella came from. Since he saw her already walking his way, he raised his voice so Estrella could hear him down the hall. "Good day to you, Velasquez!" Draco yelled, smirking at Pansy. She scoffed before passing him.

Even if Draco couldn't see it, Estrella was smiling. She knew how annoyed Pansy must have been with Draco's words.

Estrella sighed, spotting the Weasley twins. "There is our queen..." Fred called out to her as both twins move so she could seat with them.

"Well, you look well rested." George said to her.

"There is a glow to you." Fred added.

Estrella laughed at them. "A bit better than most nights." Estrella said to them. She quickly grew quiet as she remember the woman in her dreams.

"Morning Ella." Harry said, sitting opposite to her. At this point she was the only one apart from Neville who was talking to him. She smiled at Harry, and he swore that it took everything in him to spill the contents of his drink.

Fred and George did kissy faces behind her back, which made Harry blush even more. However, they soon turned into scowls when they saw Malfoy look towards Estrella whose attention was solemnly on Harry.

"Pansy tried to mock me in the hall." Estrella said to him.

Fred nudged his brother who was on the other side of Estrella. "What's up with Malfoy giving her that look?" Fred whispered to him as the two of them leant back so they see each other.

"I swear I saw him smile." George commented.

"What for?" Fred asked him, then turned to Estrella despite George's warning. "What dirt do you got on Malfoy?" He asked Estrella.

Estrella laughed at the question. "What do you mean dirt? Nothing." She said, confused at the question. George shared a look with his brother. Estrella sighed turning her attention back to Harry.

"I did survive Ron last night." Harry quietly joked with her. Estrella giggled at him.

Bang!

Estrella and Harry jumped when a set of owl dropped between them on the table. Harry passed her the letter which she opened.

Dear Ella,

It took me a while to find it, but I added surprise you will enjoy. Just remember that you got friends, you are not alone. I met your mom while in Hogwarts, and she was my best friend. She kept my secret all her life, helped me when I needed it. Marauders were my brothers, but she was my family too.

The first photo was taken on our final year together. Your dad forgot to tell Peter about the meeting. You mother always had second thoughts about him, begged James to no tell the location. However, he didn't want your mom to be the target, even if it would been the best choice. Most people didn't know how close we all were.

- Remus Lupin

Estrella smiled at the letter, opening wrapped photos inside the letter. "Moony," She said to Harry with a giant smile.

Her face froze for a second seeing the photograph. It was taken on her parents seventh year. She could see her mom smiling sitting next to Remus Lupin with a bright smile. She was behind Lilly Evans, hugging the red head. In return she was leaning against her. She could see Remus whispering some joke to her mother. Next to them, was James and Sirius imitating Anna and Lilly. Then she spotted her father posing at the front of the group with a funny look. Much like Estrella, Martin Velasquez was a calm Gryffindor, who once people got to meet him, will see his sense of humor.

Harry saw Estrella's face fall as the photograph fell through her hands. Her breathing sped up as she looked at the photograph, recognizing the woman her mom was holding. It was the one who visited her on the dreams, the one that came with the warning.

Fred and George noticed her panicked look, and picked over her shoulder to see the cause of it. "Wow..." Fred and George to her. "That's your mom..." They pointed out.

"And the Marauders..." Estrella whispered to them. Harry leant across the table, at the mention of them. He could spot his parents just like Estrella's.

"That's my mom." Harry quietly said, frozen as well.

"What?" Estrella breathed out.

Harry pointed at the woman being hugged by Annabeth Velasquez. "That's my mom, and that's my dad." Harry said to her, pointing at her parents. "Where did you find this?" He said to her, studying the happy faces of his parents.

Then he turned to the other pictures, spotting one with Estrella's mother getting a piggy back ride by Remus while they raced Sirius and James. Harry laughed at the moving photograph.

There was another one with an older wizard carrying a baby, and next to him was Estrella's mom smiling widely into the photograph. Estrella is giggling at something the older wizard said to her.

Harry flipped the photograph, and he found the description: Ella, Anna and Newt. "Who is Newt?" Harry asked her. However, she wasn't listening, her mind filled with questions about who she had been seeing in her dreams.

Estrella rose up quickly from her seat and walked to the Professors' table with the photo. "Professor McGonagall, so sorry to bother you, but you taught my mother, yes?" She asked her.

"Yes, I did." She said curiously at the shaken state of her. Estrella showed her the picture Remus sent her.

Estrella pointed at the image of Lilly Evans. "Who is this?" She asked to her.

"That's Lilly Evans. She is Potter's mom." Professor McGonagall said to her. The longer she looked at the picture, the more she paled.

Hagrid turned to look at the brunette. "What you got there Ella?" Hagrid asked her. Estrella walked down the table to Hagrid showing her the picture. He smiled at her. "That's your ma...yes....your dad..." He said look at the picture that was handled to him.

"Is there something wrong Velasquez?" Professor McGonagall asked her.

Estrella looked quite pale, while Hagrid was delighted with the photos. "I....I..." she looked at Professor Snape about to ask the question but stopped.

Without looking up from his food, he gave Estrella an answer. "I will rather not interrupt my breakfast. It is a sacred time that I will like to keep. Are you dying?" He asked her.

"No." Estrella said to him quietly, moving to stand in front of him. "Does it give weird dreams...the position to sleep?" She asked him. Then before he could replied to her, she cut him off. "I don't need an answer, just needed to tell you the question before I forget." Estrella said to him.

She walked back to Hagrid who had tears in his eyes. "Why are you crying?" She asked him. However, the way he was looking at the photo she could guess the reason.

"You mom and Lilly Potter were tied to the hip. They were good friends...Always were." Hagrid said to her. All she knew that her godmother had passed away when she was younger, never got to meet her. "I am so sorry....I...your parents...." Hagrid stood up from the table and hugged Estrella.

"It's okay." She said, patting his fur coat as he pulled. Then he handed the picture back to her. "Thanks Hagrid. You don't happened to know much about Demiguises do you?" She asked casually.

"Please don't tell me you got one inside?" Professor Flitwick said, hearing the name of the creature.

"Wouldn't be the first time, wouldn't it Albus?" Professor McGonagall joked to the headmaster. He chuckled at the distant memory of the Hufflepuff student who treated the magical creatures with as much care as Estrella did.

"What you got there?" Professor Dumbledore said to her. "Now that everyone is looking, I want too." He joked to her. Estrella walked to him, showing him the picture that was on her hand. "See?" She whispered to him. There was a twinkle in his eye.

"That's a nice picture isn't it?" Dumbledore said to her. "It's memories like this that transcend time." Dumbledore added with a smile.

Estrella sent a giant smile to Dumbledore, despite the anxiety inside her. She walked back to her seat, where she spotted Fred and George looking at the other pictures. Harry was taken back by one in particular. In Lilly's arm was a newborn Estrella fast sleep. Harry flipped the photo and saw it was a different hand writing than the rest.

My little star and me.

"These are all photos of Estrella's parents. Look is that Professor Lupin?" Fred said to his twin, looking at the pictures curiously.

"Yeah, and my parents." Harry noted. "Who is Newt though?" He asked them.

"Never met him, probably dead by now. Look at his face." Fred added.

Estrella sighed, walking back to her seat. She collected all the pictures in a hurry. "That's my mom." Harry told Estrella making her freeze. He showed her the picture he had been holding.

"Apparently she was good friends with my mom." Estrella said quietly to him. However the question still remained why Lilly would have visited her in her dreams. "She....I like lilies. My mom always used to buy them all the time." Estrella carefully said to him.

She saw how Harry was looking at the picture with the same sorry she had done once. "Do you want to keep that one? I can create a duplicate. There is probably a spell for that." Estrella said to him.

Harry handed it back to her. "It's okay." Harry added. "Come on." Harry said standing up from her seat. Estrella looked up to him as she put the photographs away. He lent her his hand, and she quickly took it.

From a distance Ron and Hermione watched the exchange. Especially the fact that Harry's hand was tightly holding hers as they walked out of the dining hall. "Why are they holding hands? They never used to hold hands." Ron said to her.

"What do you do when you like someone?" Hermione replied. Ron scoffed, stuffing his face with food. Hermione laughed behind her book, knowing Ron had too much pride to answer that question.

. . .

Estrella tapped her foot anxiously against the floor throughout her potions class. Draco even sent her a look. It didn't even helped the fact that the brunette had ran out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. But let's be honest, who would have blamed her though. At least that's what Draco thought.

"Velasquez? You are going to break the floor." Draco whispered to her from a nearby table.

"Sorry if I am bothering you." Estrella politely said to him.

"It isn't." Draco replied, but quickly shut up when both of their designated friends came back to their seats.

When the class ended, Estrella was the first one to raise from her seat. "Hi Professor Snape." Estrella said to him, watching everyone leave. "About..." She started but stopped when he gave her an appointed look.

"Please close the door." Professor Snape said to her. The brunette followed before turning to him. "I have thought about the question, and there are no side effects to the sleeping draught I gave you." Professor Snape said to her.

"I am seeing my godmother. I didn't met her when I was a younger." Estrella said to him.

"What does she presumably said?" Professor Snaped asked her.

"That I should not let my heart by filled with revenge. That she wouldn't let anything bad come to me." Estrella explained to him. She realized Professor Snape paled slightly at her words.

There was a moment of silence before he finally spoke up. "Well, maybe she is just reminding you that the one who we loved the most, never truly leave us. We can't not see them, nor feel them...But they do come to us in times of great need." Professor Snape said to her. Estrella nodded at him. "You have suffered great lost, but perhaps this is a reminder that you aren't truly alone. You are indeed attach to the hip of Potter, Granger and Weasley." He said with slight bitterness.

"I haven't been able to sleep since the day I lost my parents. I close my eyes and all I see the green light all over again. It was just recently that I saw her." Estrella explained to him. "I was alone....and she told me to take her hand. It will all be okay, but I should be careful." Estrella said sadly to him. "I...They were really...Do you believe in Death Eaters?" Estrella asked him.

She saw his eyes narrow at her. "What question is that?" He said a bit more guarded.

"They were the ones that killed my parents. Nobody believed my story....that's all I see. At the end of the day, whoever did it is out there somewhere. I couldn't stop them." Estrella said to him. "I am sorry for the question..." Estrella said looking down at the floor.

"We are never truly alone Ms. Velasquez. Neither in this world nor in the other." Professor Snape said to her, his tone a bit less harsher that most of the time. "A reminder of happier times are useful in times of distress, but you mustn't waver for anyone else. It can be taken away by fear, so mark my words carefully." Professor Snape said to her.

Estrella nodded at him. "You did everything that you could do. We...sometimes we can't save everyone." Professor Snape said.

"You lost someone too." Estrella pointed out, looking at his eyes. Professor Snape gave her a pointed look in return. "I wouldn't tell a single soul, I promised." She said before pointing at her own eyes. "I could see in through your eyes." She quietly added.

Professor turned away from her. "I will be brewing another set." Professor said to her.

"Thank you Professor Snape. It helped a lot." Estrella said to him. She walked to the door and stopped half way. "You are good man and a good teacher Professor Snape. Thank you for answering my question...and the advice." Estrella asked him before walking out the door. As she walked away, she didn't saw Professor Snape break his cold façade. He smiled a little knowing that with his advice, Estrella will sleep better at night. But it will mean more to her that what he thought. It will help her heal.

Because what others don't know is that when we consume ourselves in grief and fear, it helps having someone else to remind you that you are not alone. Whether in this world or the next, they will be there to guide you in the right path.
