08 | RITA SEEKER?

ESTRELLA sighed, walking to the dining hall and quickly spotting a new face. She smirked seeing Cedric trying to avoid kindly the questioning of blonde woman who was being followed by a quill. The woman then ran off to Viktor Krum who quickly fled the scene.

Amused at the sight, she took advantage of the new sitting arrangements and walked to Harry. "Is someone sitting here?" Estrella asked him. Harry choke on his pumpkin juice when he saw her leaning down next to his face. "Hi." She said to him, holding back a laugh.

"Hi." Harry said to her.

Estrella handed him a napkin while his blushed. "Now, Harry we can't have you die before the first task. Can't we?" Fred said to him with a smirk.

Estrella looked over her shoulder at the woman who was questioning Fleur Delacour. "Who is she?" Estrella said to them. "Hogwarts normally doesn't get visitors." She quietly added.

"That is the reporter I told you about. Works are the Daily Prophet and is working on a story with the champions." Harry answered her.

"Rita Seeker?" Estrella said to him. Fred and George chuckled at her, shaking their head.

"Rita Skeeter." George commented to her.

"Works on the Daily Prophet." Fred added to her. "And prepare yourself...here she comes..." Fred whispered to them. Estrella felt someone behind her. She looked up to her curiously.

"The boy and the girl who lived." Rita said to both of them. Estrella frowned at her, confused at her words. Harry sighed, standing up from his table. "I am interviewing the champions for a once in a life story. I will love to hear more about what happen to your parents...maybe that's why the two of them get along so well. You were raised by trauma, by pain and loss." Rita said to them.

Estrella eyed the quill that moved and stopped consistently, not matching what she said. "What you got written, maybe I can add something." Estrella said curiously, keeping her eyes on the quill.

"Is that you accepting an exclusive interview?" Rita asked her. Estrella was about to answer, and from Rita's shoulder she could see Cedric giving her a warning look. Then she looked up to the woman.

"I will think about it. I would hate the remove the spotlight from our beloved champions." Estrella said, putting her best smile forward. Fred and George held back a laugh while Neville watched the event unfold. "Truly tragic...and fearful but our champions will pull us through." Estrella said to Rita. Harry held back a smile. Then she turned to him. "wouldn't you, Harry?" she said to him in front of Rita.

"Oh, of course he will. This is good....but about the interview-" She began but was cut off by Professor Snape.

"Interviews aren't carried on the dining halls. I believe Dumbledore explicitly said the assigned times and room for you. I will lead you to them if I could." Professor Snape said to her in his monotone voice. Rita eyed but was stopped by Professor McGonagall who was walking her way.

"There you are Miss Skeeter. I will lead you to the interview room." Professor McGonagall said, taking a good hold of Rita Skeeter and walking her away from the table. Estrella laughed loudly at the sight, quietly thanking McGonagall for the intervention.

"What's amusing Potter?" Professor Snape said to him. Harry frowned about to make an excuse but Professor Snape took off.

Estrella broke into another set of giggles. "He has it out for me." Harry said to her.

"Well, he did intervene. Didn't he? He could have let you made a fool of yourself." Estrella pointed out to him. Then she continued to look at Rita. "Either way, good look because she looks nosy." She whispered to him.

"Champions, please follow me!" Dumbledore loudly said as he entered the dining hall. Harry sighed, already standing up from the dining hall.

As she watched him walk out of the room for the interview, she could see the Weasley Twins murmured under their breath. "Good luck indeed." The three of them said at the same time.

. . .

Estrella sighed, walking to her next class. However, she jumped when she saw someone turned the corner she was about to take. She held back a startle gasp when she noticed Rita Skeeter. She had 'accidentally' encountered her.

"Miss Velasquez! Ebrella isn't it?" Rita said to her.

"It's Estrella." Estrella corrected her.

"Same thing, isn't it?" Rita replied to her. "About your interview? So what is your connection with Potter." Rita questioned her, taking a step to her.

"I am sorry?" Estrella asked, quickly reading the hints she had thrown.

"Is he in love? Write that down, grow up in pain, and death. United by one common goal, healing. It sounds nicely doesn't it? Although people see you with his red headed friend....is it a tringle? A Weasley and Potter? Like pure-bloods don't you?" Rita questioned her. Estrella kept her composure as she looked for an escape route.

Estrella sighed as she continued to walk. "I will be late to my class." Estrella said to her before she continued to walk quite quickly.

Tick, Tick!

The brunette took a sharp turn, trying to leave Rita behind but she was like a leach. Once she stuck it was hard to remove. "Esta hija de..." She began put stopped herself when she saw Rita sprint to catch up to her (son of a....). Then she moved blocking her view

"Well, that frightful night you...your dear parents. Experience with dark wizards were they not? I mean, they were rumors that they were tied to the Death Eaters, especially with the dreadful Sirius Black. People who knew your mother before the Potters' death said that she knew him." Rita said to her. Estrella couldn't contain the glare that came out of her at those words. Sirius Black? Death Eaters?

The brunette didn't necessarily knew Sirius as much as she would have wished. But she knew if he hadn't been thrown in Azkaban when she was couple of months old, she would have. Despite him being on the run, he had been more than kind to her and Harry.

"Goodbye." Estrella said, a bit more sharply this time while speeding up.

"Dreadful deaths, your parents. The best of Aurors compared to some in history...and yet dead. How many were they? What kind of---" Estrella stopped listening to her questions. She tune them down, not able to listen to them anymore. Her tears were starting to appear.

"Now, about that summer night, we all want to.." She began and Estrella turned around to her. The brunette was clutching her books tightly.

"You will be running late to your Transfiguration class." Cedric said to Estrella who was about to snap at Rita Skeeter.

Rita stopped seeing now the set of sixth year Hufflepuff waiting for their own class. "I recall Professor Snape mentioning you the rules this morning, Miss Skeeter. You don't to intervene in our education, wouldn't you?" Cedric asked her.

Another younger Hufflepuff in Estrella's grade walked up to the reporter as well. She recognized her as Hannah Abbott. "There you are, Ella." Hannah said, taking a hold of her arm before walking quickly away from the reporter.

Rita was about to follow them but was stopped by Cedric who stood in the middle of the room with two of his friends. The reporter sighed, walking away failing at getting past the Hufflepuffs. Because one thing was for sure: they always looked after their own.

Estrella looked at Hannah who let go of her arm once they were more than far enough for Rita Skeeter. "Thank you." Estrella said to her.

Hannah nodded back at her in return. "I was going the same way." Hannah said to her. The two quietly walked to their next class. As soon as she saw her group of friends, she relaxed. "I am terribly sorry about your parents, truly." She said to her before going their separate ways.

Estrella sighed taking a seat next to Neville. "What happened?" He asked her.

"I am wanted by Rita." She replied. "Insoportable, fastidiosa, que se mete en los asuntos de otros. La próxima la lazo, y que se la coma un basilisco." Estrella whispered to herself. (Insufferable, annoying, and gets involve in other people's businesses. Next time I will throw her for a basilisk to eat) A couple of student looked at her curiously, not knowing who she was talking to.

Ron looked over his shoulder at Estrella. "You aren't mad at me are you?" Ron asked her.

"Why will I be mad at you? Should I?" Estrella asked him.

"Not really." Ron said to her.

She frowned, noticing he was sitting with Hermione instead of Harry. "Mad of Harry?" She quietly questioned. Ron shrugged in response. "What for?" Estrella said, leaning more towards him.

"I am not mad." Ron lied, but he should have learned by now that his friend picked up on the little things. She saw straight through his lie. Ron sighed, turning back to her. Big mistake.

The concern in her eyes broke him. "He already has enough glory as it is." Ron replied to her quietly.

"Are you mad at me too?" She asked him carefully.

Ron turned fully to face her on his sea. "No! Are you mad! I wouldn't. You are really hard to get mad at, actually." Ron said to her. Estrella nodded at him return, but still wasn't sure about it. "Ella, I promise." Ron said quietly to her when he saw Professor McGonagall come inside the room.

. . .

Once the class ended, Ron was quick to catch up with Estrella and speed up so that Harry and Hermione were left behind. "You know that isn't nice." Estrella said, looking over her shoulder at the two other friends.

"Do you think the goblet will have chosen me?" Ron asked her quietly.

"I don't know. I would rather not." Estrella answered him.

Ron frowned at her. "Do you thought I would fail? What about Harry?" Ron asked her.

Estrella looked ahead. "You would have been more than capable with the help of Hermione. But I don't...It's dangerous. People die on these things, Dumbledore wouldn't had told us if he didn't want to warn us. Honestly, I have enough loss as it is." Estrella said to him. Then she looked at the floor. "You are my friend. If I...If I were to lose you I will be destroyed." She replied to him, trying to hide the breaking of her voice.

Ron in response took a hold of her hand. "I am too stubborn to just leave." Ron said to her. Estrella let out a small laugh, but tear were present in her eyes. "We are friends." He said to her, nudging her on the shoulder.

As they walked to their next class, Estrella looked between Ron and Harry. The two were inseparable, but stubborn on their own accord. So she made a promise to herself that she will amend Ron and Harry's friendship. She just needed time.
