a gone Man!

Summer ended. School was supposed to start back early in the month of September but a storm hit the island and spread havoc late August. Houses were left without their hats, streets were littered with the corpses of dead plants and animals and left the citizens in dismay. But the biggest tragedy were those who lost their lives to the chaotic wind or thundering flooding.

When the storm had started, so did the mystery. A boy our age who we were really good friends with was running. His name was DeeJay. The thunder brought shivers down his spine. The lightning lit up the roads which he ran upon. The rain soaked into his clothes and made it into a weighted blanket. And the silence destroyed his hope.

Feeling lost, empty and afraid he slipped under a tree to take shelter. He looked around, first noticing the fish that had washed up from the different water bodies about. He then looked up. Although he could see the raindrops which escaped from the leaves fall onto his skin he couldn't feel it. It was like life had no meaning no more. Like he had felt too much to ever feel again.

He only wanted to go out for a walk and met up with the unexpected winds. No cars were out, the street cameras all gave out thanks to the heavy rain and he was starting to tremble from the cold temperatures. Alone. All alone. Just like how he felt inside.

He hit his pockets searching for his phone but it was gone. And suddenly all the feelings he took the walk to forget about came back and his mind was made up. Everything and everyone else seemed to be against him so why not.

Nothing left to loose. A freeing feeling.

Lightning flashed once more and it revealed a telephone booth playing hide and seek in the blazing raindrops. DeeJay ran over to it and whilst trembling from the frosty temperature, he typed in a number and placed the phone to his ear. The person answered the phone seconds later and he started pouring his heart out. He apologized and said there was nothing anyone can do anymore then he hung up.

He slid down the wall of the phone booth and sat on the floor crying. Once he had calmed down he got up and slowly started to walk away. Little did he know these next four months were about to change our lives forever. The game's on, motherfuckers.
