He knew he was wrong. He had already lost someone earlier, due to his mistake, and keeping that truth hidden from Aayat he lost her. He didn't want to lose her.

He was late, very late indeed, to tell the truth, to save his marriage, to not lose the one he loves.

"What happened Aayat?" Maira asked as she saw Aayat.

"Nothing! I am fine." She replied as she wiped her tears, and stood up.

"I know you are not, and you can not lie to me." Maira said. "You met bhai, didn't you?" She asked, and Aayat looked away.

"Aayat, I won't tell you to forgive him, neither will I tell you to solve everything between both of you. It's not easy for either of you. It's been months, neither do you want to move completely away, nor do you both want to get back. You need to think of something? You have your whole life in front of you, how will you stay like this?" Maira asked softly

"I can't move on Maira! I know the circumstances that lead us to this marriage weren't in our favor. Neither did I know that he agreed to marry me just for the revenge of my sister. But as time passed, I had accepted it, I love him Maira. How can I forget that? But he never did, I was betrayed, his love was fake, but mine wasn't. I can't move on, I just can't!" Aayat said as tears streamed down her eyes.

"I myself didn't expect this from bhai. His revenge, his fight, his mistake, bought us all here." Maira continued.

"His love for someone else, ruined my love for him. I feel like I am tied up in this marriage, in a knot, which has tangled to such an extent, that it feels impossible to untangle, even when I want to." Aayat spoke.

"Everyone has come, we need to go out." Someone in the corridor spoke, and Aayat wiped her tears slowly, and stood up.

"Are you okay? Do you need something?" Maira asked softly, and she nodded.

Both of them went out, and took a seat. While Aayat's sight fell on a familiar face...Zayaan.

She looked at him, while he glanced back, guilt in his eyes were clearly visible, but the pain in Aayat's eyes was taken over. She wished things to not be the way it was now, but what had happened was a bitter past, which cannot be changed.

His eyes were pleading, but she didn't want to think about him anymore, even though she knew it wasn't going to be easy for her to do so.

Words unspoken between them, but their sights fixed on each other. It was just the distance between them, that stopped him from speaking.

How hard he had tried to walk up to her, explain himself, clear out things, in these few months, but she didn't want to do so. She had lost her sister, and her life had been messed up ever since then, only that, she realized things a little later.

"Maira I will take a leave, mama will be waiting for me at home." She spoke, as her sight moved away from him.

"Wait for a while? I will drop you on the way back?" She asked.

"It's okay, I will go myself, thank you." After meeting her, she left towards her car.

"Aayat, for once listen to me. I know I was wrong, actually very wrong. But that isn't the thing anymore. I only love you Aayat, trust me." Zayaan said, and Aayat stopped in her tracks, and turned back.

"If you truly love me, then leave me alone. For the sake of your love at least. I can't get my sister back anyways right? Even if I forgive you, or forget things? For you our marriage was nothing but a revenge, and I wish I knew it before, I would have never chose to take Hania's place. At least Hania would be with me today, and my life wouldn't be the way it is now." Aayat replied, and went and sat in her car, without looking back at him.

Zayaan froze at the moment. He felt every word of hers deep, it had hit him, he knew he had hurt her. But he also knew that he only loved Aayat.

The situation earlier, was really different, and how much he had wished he had told her earlier about the revenge, when he had realized his love for her, at least Aayat would be with him today.
