Forty seven

It had been exactly two months since Taehyung left. At his request, no one was allowed to know where he was apart from
Jungkook. It was mainly for security purposes to keep him hidden from Kim Cha ha. The only thing they could do was talk to him on phone and even that itself was rare but the rumors about Taehyung's 'madness' had spread everywhere. The nurse that had injected him that night really couldn't hold her tongue and soon everyone knew that Taehyung was mentally ill and had left to treat that illness.

Jimin took over Bangtan shoes company. Slowly, he started to learn how the business operated. With time also, JM fashions began to take shape. Though, he was acting CEO of Bangtan shoes, he gave some managerial control to Sunmi since she knew more about the business than he did while he focused more on his fashion business especially when he finally figured out a theme to showcase for the Asian fashion show. Thus, it took up most of his time. At least it was enough to keep his mind far from thinking about Taehyung especially when he suddenly realized that Taehyung didn't really like him because he was obviously trapped in his old memories of Jessica.

Exactly a week after Taehyung left, Jimin felt pangs of loneliness hit him severely so he wandered into his room carelessly. Since they started living together, Jimin had never spent more than a second in that room. But now, with Taehyung's absence, he was free to explore and discover some hidden things about Taehyung he had been curious about so he did a lot of roaming around, opening drawers, cupboards, bags. He didn't know what he was searching for. Maybe answers to his burning questions. But he went on with his task until he came across a small black box tucked underneath Taehyung's reading table.

Full of curiosity, he grabbed the box and leisurely sat down before steadily opening it. As soon as his eyes fell on the contents inside, his heart fell. There where pictures of Jessica back in the days. Single pictures, pictures they had taken as a couple. Then a picture of a beach. That picture was something he had given Taehyung passively when telling him about his dream of getting married in a beach.

It was surprising to discover he had kept all these after all these years which meant only one thing. He never forgot Jessica. Jimin burst into bitter laughter as he discovered he was his own rival. Thoughts began to creep up subconsciously in Jimin's head as he remembered Taehyung's reaction towards him when he had changed his sex. Now that he thought about it, he realized that he had been really angry. Though he didn't voice out his displeasure, now, he could remember the look of fury in Taehyung's face the night before they attended Mintae's school conference.

Then why did you decide to change yourself when you weren't ready for the consequences" Taehyung had yelled

The burning pain Jimin had felt when Taehyung grabbed his arm digging his finger nails into his flesh.

"Taehyung, I...."

"You should have thought of this before you made a decision. Now you are going to have to deal with it Jimin. No more running...no more hiding. No more being a coward"

He sounded angry and ruthless. He had let him go harshly and Jimin remembered how confused he was by Taehyung's sudden change of mood. He could still see the anger shining in his eyes as he looked him over.

"Stop drinking. You have to be sober for tomorrow" he said before walking away

Then the fight they had after Jimin had avoided him for more than a month.

"I changed after ten years. You never told me how you felt about it"

"I never thought you wanted to hear my opinion!"

"But what do you think? You told me not to hide. You gave me courage to finally be myself but I still don't know how you feel about me changing my sexuality."

"Say something! Anything!"

Now Jimin could recall the sadness in Taehyung's eyes as he  bit his lips really hard "what does it matter what I think? You've already made your decision"

That had stung but he had continued
"But how do you feel about it?"

"I don't know okay, I don't know" Taehyung finally blurted

As his eyes surveyed these old pictures, it all became clear to him. The one Taehyung had really loved was Jessica but after he had changed, it was only normal he had felt anger and disgust towards him.

His hand fell. How could he have been so stupid to even have entertained the thought that Taehyung would have any feelings for him. He had probably only being confused because he reminded him of who he used to be. He wanted to cry but he held himself back. There was no need to anymore. He had to continue living his life. It wasn't like Taehyung was coming back any time soon so he packed up the pictures and pretended that everything was alright.

When Yoongi called him, he didn't ignore his calls and answered him like he used to. The two of them where both at a cross roads confused about the state of their relationship. Yoongi wasn't ready to let go especially after hearing the news about Taehyung. As for Jimin, he wasn't sure leaving Yoongi was the right thing to do especially after discovering that Taehyung was still hung up on his past persona Jessica. Besides, it's not like he was head over heels in love with him to wait right? Taehyung hadn't asked him to wait for him or anything. He hardly even spoke to him on phone. He had to move on right?

So they started small. They went to movies and hung out. No one brought up Taehyung's name whenever they where together. Yoongi couldn't even ask about Taehyung because Jimin wouldn't talk about him so he went with that. He familiarized himself with Jimin's parents after they had formally reconciled. He was there when Jimin introduced Mintae to his grandparents and saw the happiness in the boy's eyes. He was so enraptured by the older couple that he didn't leave their side. Likewise, the older couple where besotted with him.

Mrs Park cried when Mintae asked where they have been all along. She just answered that they were far far away but they finally found their way to each other again. Mintae was satisfied with that answer.

It had been two months now and here Yoongi was sitting in the middle of his living room, gazing down at a box he was holding in his hand.

"Jimin seems like he wants to move on...I guess it would be okay if I propose to him" he murmured to himself.

His eyes was trained solely on the box when the door flung open and Namjoon entered with someone else in his arms. A man who looked really handsome.
Yoongi stared at them both as they entered.

"Wow...you are back. Haven't been seeing you for quite a while" Yoongi said.

"Didn't think you noticed dude. You've been so occupied with your own things these days" Namjoon said beaming.

"Whatever!" Yoongi said with a wave of his hand and fixed his gaze on the beautiful human beside his friend.

"Who is this new friend of yours? I haven't seen him before" he said.

"Sorry about that" Namjoon said with an easy smile and grabbed the other's hand interwining it with his own.

"This is Kim seokjin. My new boyfriend. We met on Instagram last month and we've been dating for more than two weeks now... and let me add, he's a psychiatrist"

Yoongi nodded seemingly impressed. "Wow, congratulations! Welcome" He said sincerely and stood up sticking his hand out to Jin.

"Nice to meet you" He said.

Jin shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too"

His smile was warm and gentle. Yoongi immediately felt relaxed.

"So we'll be heading inside now" Namjoon said, his eyes twinkling mischeviously as he led Jin to his room. Yoongi shook his head at him. Apart from being co owners of Big hit, they also shared a very big mansion together.

Namjoon and his boyfriend where indoors for quite a while until they eventually came out to join him in the sitting room. Jin was wearing one of Namjoon's T shirt while he went to the kitchen to fetch pop corn.

He returned with a bag of popcorn and soda drinks for the both of them. They sat together and Namjoon looked at his friend's direction only to notice the box in his hands.

"What's that?" He asked. Jin looked at him too with a curious glance.

Yoongi blushed. "Oh this?"

He cleared his throat nervously. "I'm going to propose today"

"What?" Namjoon shouted. "Are you sure?"

Yoongi shrugged. "It's better to do this now. Taehyung is gone and Jimin is opening up to me again"

"Wait! Jimin?" Jin blurted out, his face full of shock. The other men looked at him.

"Yes. He's my boyfriend. do you know him?"

Something told him not to expose his true relationship with Jimin so he lied. "No...I don't. His name just seems familiar"

Yoongi sighed. "I've been preparing for this moment for such a long time. When Taehyung appeared, I realized I shouldn't have waited any longer to ask him to marry me"

Namjoon stared at him. "Are you sure he's going to say yes?"

No answer.

"I'll try. This is my last shot Namjoon" he whispered.

"I wish you all the best Yoongi" Namjoon said. Yoongi nodded

"So what have you prepared for the big day?"

"I rented out a restaurant. Candle light dinner. Nothing too fancy but enough to charm him." He answered.

"Jimin will love it"

"I hope so but I can't help but shake this nasty feeling off"

"About what?"

"That he's not over Taehyung"

"Then you'll find out tonight"

Yoongi smiled. "I sure will"

Jimin was working on his designs when he received a text from Yoongi telling him to meet him at a restaurant. He abandoned the work at hand, prepared and left for the address that evening. When he arrived, he was led by a waiter towards Yoongi's table. The other's face lit up with a huge smile as soon as he saw him.

Jimin looked around and noticed how empty everywhere was. The table looked extravagantly decorated with flowers and scented candles. He had to admit it looked nice but he suspected something was up.

"Where is everyone?" He asked.

"I booked the place just for the two of us tonight"

Jimin laughed. "what's the happy occasion"

"I think we should eat first. Order anything you want"

Jimin arched an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Really!"

Jimin ordered a lot of food. He began to talk a lot and Yoongi noticed the sweat in his brows and how nervous he was. When they finished eating, Yoongi decided it was time and gathered his breath.

"Jimin.... there's something I want to ask you..."

"Oh....I would love dessert. won't you?" He cut in and smiling nervously.

"Jimin...can you stop? I have to tell you something" He said.

Jimin paused biting his lower lip as Yoongi brought out the ring from his inner jacket. He swallowed hard as the other opened the box revealing a shiny diamond ring.

"Park Jimin, I have been in love with you since forever. Even when you where a woman. Even before now, all I've ever wanted to do was marry you but I've been waiting for the right moment to formally ask you"

He cleared his throat. "However, for some reasons, it got delayed but now, I don't think I can wait any longer so please...."

He knelt on the ground thrusting the ring towards him

"Will you marry me?"

Jimin didn't say anything. Actually, tears fell down his eyes. Yoongi stared at him. "Why are you crying? Is it tears of joy or...."

"Yoongi...please get up" he whispered. As Yoongi remained where he was, he went on. "Please Yoongi, get up!"

Yoongi stood up and sat back down feeling dejected already.

"The reason I'm crying is because I know how unfair I'm being towards you"

Silence.

Jimin continued "You are everything I want in a man. You are good, hardworking. You have taken good care of me for the past ten years and being a father figure to Mintae all these while....yet..."

His voice broke. "I betrayed you. I broke your trust and I really hate myself for that"

"Maybe in the past, I would have gladly accepted this ring but now, I don't have the heart to do it. I'm just being a fool"

Yoongi nodded his head. "It's Taehyung isn't it?" He said gravely.

Jimin shook his head slowly "No, it's not Taehyung. It's me. It's all my fault. Taehyung doesn't even like me, not as I am. I'm the one who is stupid. I'm the one who fell into a deep pit which I can't get out of"

Yoongi stayed quiet for a while before speaking again, his voice far from being accommodating. "But what is the use of all these? Taehyung is crazy and from what I hear, it will be a really long time before he regains his senses, if he even does. Won't it be right to move on?"

Jimin nodded his head. "Yeah, that would be the right thing to do but I can't do that to you. I can't marry you when I'm in love with someone else"

"You love him!" Yoongi bluntly said.

Jimin lowered his head. "Unfortunately!"

Yoongi's expression darkened "Jimin, I want to ask you this question...A question you have always refused to answer. Now, I want you to answer me, honestly... truthfully"

The silence that hit them both was extremely uncomfortable.

"Did you ever love me?"

Jimin was quiet and his silence was enough answer for Yoongi. He almost exploded with anger but Jimin spoke immediately looking at him with soft pleading eyes.

"I know how you must feel but I was willing to fall in love with you. I wanted to....I really wanted to. I tried as much as I could and for a while, I felt satisfied, comfortable but in the end, i couldn't do it and that's what I hate most!"

Yoongi stood up from his seat fuming. "Jimin, do you know what you are doing? Do you know what you are throwing away?"

Jimin sighed in resignation "I do but I can't keep lying and pretending anymore. I can't keep putting up appearances. Even though, I have to be alone, I can't keep being unfair to you"

Yoongi clenched his fist. "Fine. If you want to remain pining for someone who will never be with you, that's up to you but from now on, I'm cutting ties with you!"

Jimin's eyes widened "Yoongi...."

Yoongi's eyes turned red as he stared straight at him "I gave you everything. I was there when no one else was. This is how you decide to repay me?"

His lips where trembling and Jimin shattered.

"But you can't just do this Yoongi. You are important to me. I need you"

"No you don't!" Yoongi barked. "You need Taehyung but unfortunately for you, he's not going to be here for you just like I won't...."

"I'm leaving" He said finally before tucking the black box back into his jacket. With one last painful look, he stormed off. Jimin hit his head on the table and stayed like that for a while. There was no better way it would have gone. Only bad.

It was only when  he heard the rain falling outside did he raise his head. He regretted so many things and hated the fact that he was letting Yoongi go because of Taehyung, a man who didn't even like him. Why was he doing this to himself?

Dragging his legs, he left the empty restaurant and entered his car parked outside. It was a few minutes past ten. Everywhere was dark except for the street lights and the rain beat his car harshly.

Finally, he reached the mansion but froze as he saw a figure with an umbrella leaning against the gate, thereby stopping him from driving inside. He began to feel fear as the figure stood rooted to the spot unmoving.

Gathering enough courage, he climbed out of his car and with slow calculated steps made his way to the figure.

"Sorry, who are you? Please can you leave? I'm trying to get into my house" he whispered. His heart was beating frantically in his chest but there where cameras everywhere so for now, he was safe.

The figure moved and spoke in a soft gentle voice that sent goosebumps all over his body.

"Jimin...."

He panicked. He could recognize that voice anywhere.

"Taehyung?"

The figure came closer shielding him with the umbrella. Up close, Jimin finally saw his face and his breath hung in surprise.

"It's you...what are you doing here?" He said.

He was so excited to see him but at the same time, he was worried. He shouldn't be here.

"Did you say yes?" Taehyung muttered.

Jimin was confused "What?"

"Did you say yes to Yoongi?"

Jimin was stunned. "Wait, how did you..."

"Just answer me Jimin. Did you say yes to Yoongi?" Taehyung repeated.

Jimin was so shocked. He didn't know how to react. He hadn't seen Taehyung for two months. They hardly spoke on phone. He had rejected a very nice man's proposal all because of him when he wasn't sure of his feelings but here Taehyung was under the rain with an umbrella wearing an old faded jacket and baggy jeans asking him if he agreed to Yoongi's proposal.

Sighing, he raised his hands to show a ringless finger.

"What do you think?...."

A big smile spread across Taehyung's face. "That's good, which means I can do this..."

"Do what?"

But he was cut short when the umbrella fell loose from Taehyung's hand and the next thing he knew was soft lips meeting his. Jimin's eyes widened in shock as Taehyung wrapped his arms around his waist and pulled him closer kissing him senseless. He was still frozen until the latter whispered into the kiss.

"I love you Jimin"

It was like a spark had been ignited in his head. It was all he had ever wanted to hear. Finally, his eyes closed and this time, he returned the kiss with as much passion wrapping his arms around Taehyung's neck and entangling his small hands into his dark locks as tears fell from his eyes. Neither of them cared about the rain beating them or the cold they might later catch. The only thing that mattered was that they where skin to skin, thigh to thigh, chest to chest. Closer than they've ever been. After minutes of kissing, they finally separated, their noses red, their lips swollen, hair and clothes drenched in the rain. They clung to each other tightly as Jimin finally whispered. "I love you too"

Finally! They are together. Another long chapter. I don't know, there's just something about kissing in the rain that gets to me. Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope you all are taking care of yourselves. Tell me what you think about this chapter. Lots of love.
