As the gang settles down, having just woken up, Tanith takes the role of reading the questions without a fight. She grins as she scrolls through them, then clicks on one and reads it off to everyone else.

A few are interested by the question, the most of everyone is Tanith herself. Pikalus silently wonders if she picked out a question she personally really liked first.

Tanith: Yes! I grew up there and I've traveled all around the globe! Given it was mostly for times of bloodshed but there were a couple odd years where I got away with sight seeing. My favorites were some of the more tropical areas! I got so tan there and it was so warm...

Tanith sighs, now reminiscing and closing her eyes. Cody is the next person who finds the courage to speak.

Cody: Uh, yeah. I was actually found there. Was a doctor before Rasmus came. I kinda liked the place I lived! Strange people there but I had a life.

Cody grins, already deep in thought, and Pikalus cuts in.

Professor Pikalus: Yep, I was born there before my Mom immigrated into Atlantis. Plus a few trips gathering supplies and such has gotten me out of there.

CannibalCrab: Once! I've mostly been trapped in Atlantis but I saved up my vacation days for a really long vacation once! I like the big city, there was tons of places to gam-

KrakenKid's head snaps towards CannibalCrab, making him rethink what he was gonna say. His face becomes suddenly flustered.

CannibalCrab: GAME! Lots of gaming places! That's all, that's all I did! Nothing to see here! Stop staring at me!

Sam and Selena quickly butt in, effectively saving Cannibal before Kraken can ask questions.

Selena: Nope!

Sam: Atlantis, born and raised. We know every little corner there is, and believe me, there's a lot of them.

Selena: Though I'd love to go somewhere green! Atlantis doesn't have nearly as much as I'd like.

Sam: I'd probably go to a beach if I could. A proper beach, one with the real sun so I can sun bathe.

Blooper: Have you seen my Dad? Of courseI haven't! I wasn't able to leave the Conch Command on my own until a couple of months ago! Though if I could, I'd go straight for an amusement park.

Meanwhile, a ways away, Ace seems to stare at the question blankly.

Ace: ...Outside of Atlantis?

Chester sighs and speaks up for him.

Chester: He's never been, neither have I. Honestly, anywhere is fine at this point. I'll take what I can get.

The author suddenly appears, screeching something about 'Breaking the fourth wall' and then her words turn into utter nonsense as she drags the question with her and leaves once again.

You're... Not sure what that was all about but you're pretty sure breaking it again with result in something similar.

Tanith blinks a few times.

Tanith: I did what?

The author feels called out and retreats to her corner, hissing something about... Wait, why is she talking about a stream? What did those ever do to her? Either way, she seems to have this weird look on her face.

Best not to read into it.

A few people look quite confused, but Professor becomes oddly pale at the question. CannibalCrab gives him a look, snorting at him.

CannibalCrab: You gotta be joking, this is too good...

Professor Pikalus: W-what? Shut up, you don't know anything!

CannibalCrab: C'mon, spill the beans! This is a mostly judgement free zone. Mostly. Maybe. Depends what you did.

Professor Pikalus: ...I wrote Star Trek fan fiction.

CannibalCrab pauses, smiling at bit but shrugs.

CannibalCrab: Honestly, I was expecting worse-

Professor Pikalus: With Kirk and Spock in a romantic relationship

CannibalCrab bursts out into hysterical laughter, soon followed by pretty much everyone else. Professor tries to hide his face.

Professor Pikalus: I WAS REALLY YOUNG OKAY? YOUNG AND DRUNK!

Cody: I GOT TO FIND THIS!

Professor Pikalus has to leave the room for a moment while they all keep laughing. (And also because Cody discovers it)

While they're distracted, San quietly reveals that she's not only quite the famous fan fiction writer, but also that her specialty is romance, and even has written a few smut ones on odd days. She doesn't say what it's a fan fiction of.

In Chester's home, Ace has literally no idea what's going on. Chester on the other hand, Shrugs.

Chester: When I get a hold of a computer, I've been known to dabble in it. Apparently making people cry is my specialty.

He grins.

Chester: If you ever find a particularly dark one, there's a possibility I wrote it.

You're not sure you like the grin you're getting...

While Pikalus is still out of the room, and Cody reads his old (And pretty cringe-y) fan fiction, Tanith pulls Cannibal over to show him the question. His jaw drops.

Cannibal seems quite for a moment, thinking to himself.

CannibalCrab: Like him? In the way you're probably suggesting, not really. He's rude and uptight and honestly, he could chill sometimes.

However, he seems to take a more unsure breath, glancing around to make sure the others are still distracted.

CannibalCrab: But I'd be lying if I said he wasn't pretty attractive.

Cannibal seems to hesitate before shaking himself.

CannibalCrab: But, I'm not allowed to like him! We're on opposite sides and I can't go around dating someone from the other side! Probably! Maybe... Hmm..

CannibalCrab is officially having a crisis, breaking down and mumbling about muscles or something like it.

You're not sure what to make of it? Though you wonder if those two had a different situation...

Tanith notices Cannibal's state and quickly brings up a different question to distract him.

CannibalCrab seems to pause for a long time, frowning.

CannibalCrab: Outside of the Tide Changers? Tough question, I've been with them for so long it's hard to imagine another life. But, that situation could go two ways.

Cannibal holds up one claw as he speaks, as if he's comparing the options.

CannibalCrab: On one hand, if I just said no to KrakenKid's offer, I'd probably be either hunted down and stuck in jail, or be living on the outskirts trying to survive on my own.

He holds up the other claw, glancing at it.

CannibalCrab: On the other, if I hadn't gotten into the situation at all, I might still be with my wife. Maybe have a family? Work as a businessman like I planned?

CannibalCrab thinks for a while, sighing.

CannibalCrab: If I'm being honest, all of that sounds kinda... Boring. Not really my style. Yes I loved my wife but, we got married really fast, I never actually got to be myself as much as I wanted to. My life, while risky, is always different and new and I'm not sure I'd ever want to give that up.

Cannibal looks to KrakenKid, and grins at him, even if he doesn't see.

CannibalCrab: He really has changed so many lives. Most think worse but, well, I think all the Tide Changers would disagree.

As the gang gathers back up again, the next question seems simple at first.

Most roll their eyes at the question.

Professor Pikalus: You're kidding me, right?

Cody: Oh this is easy!

KrakenKid: Even the Penguin could get it.

Professor Pikalus: No
Cody & KrakenKid: Yes

The three all look at each other, glaring now. Cody and KrakenKid share a 'The enemy of my enemy' look before turning on Professor.

Cody: It's a soup! Liquid base with bits of food in it? THAT'S A SOUP!

KrakenKid: Replacing the milk with broth would be the same as soup, it's simple science!

Professor Pikalus: Don't you talk to me about science! I AM SCIENCE! It's sugary! It's not broth! It's! Not! SOUP!

Sam: Yeah, I'm with Professor on this one

Selena: Same here! I wouldn't eat soup for breakfast!

Blooper gives Selena a betrayed look, jaw dropping and a shriek following it.

Blooper: SALAMI! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!

Selena: What?

Blooper: Cereal is a soup! I eat soup for breakfast all the time!

CannibalCrab: You guys are weird. It's not a soup

KrakenKid: CANNIBALCRAB! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?

CannibalCrab: OH COME ON!

Tanith, unable to pick a side, nervously Gulps and steps away as the fighting gets bigger, hoping nobody will ask her to choose. However, she's forced to join in when CannibalCrab and KrakenKid start to strangle each other, Cody throws a chair at Pikalus causing him to turn a sickly shade of blue, Sam has to leave the room and moments later, punches a hole through the door, and Blooper and Selena wrestle.

Ace and Chester give each other a look.

Ace: I'm not a huge 'Food' person? I only know what Chester tells me.

Chester: Its not by the way. Soup has to have some sort of meat, and unless your cereal is disturbing, it's not a soup.

Sam rhythmically taps her tail as she thinks. Cody tries to hide it, but he's pretty disturbed by the question. Selena quietly wonders if her sister could even die, given she's seen her do some extremely dangerous things without much harm.

Sam: When. I feel like if I knew how, it wouldn't matter because even if I try to avoid that thing, it'll eventually happen, and I'll just have wasted my life trying to stop my own death. If I know when, I can live life to the fullest until then.

The room is silent.

Tanith: Whoa, that's pretty dark. Fair though, we often can't escape our fates.

Cody hides how dark his eyes turn when he hears all of it, but KrakenKid still gets a glimpse of it, though stays silent.

You feel as though the topic of fate is sensitive to some.

Ace seems to suddenly jerk up at the question, looking around.

Ace: Who do I need to beat up?

Chester quickly calms him down, giving a comforting touch for him to settle back down.

Chester: No one, don't worry. And the clown. If they can do no damage, then it'll be enough for me.

Ace still looks around just to be sure there's no stalkers.

The room goes silent. Cody goes to speak but several people interrupt him.

Cody: Why th-

KrakenKid: Still hate him.

CannibalCrab: I'm still required to hate him

Blooper: Ask him what it's like.

Selena gives him a look before answering it herself. She smirks a little

Selena: Give him a month.

Cody suddenly looks alarmed.

Cody: A month? Why?

Sam glances at Cody while her sister laughs. She talks under her breath so nobody else can hear.

Sam: Become a lesbian

Tanith: Another for girls night out!

Professor Pikalus: I'm not sure if anything would change personality wise. Cody would likely still be Cody, girl or not.

Cody isn't even sure what to say.

Ace stares for a really long time

Ace: I... I don't see what would change?

Chester: Guess I'd have a queen then.

There's an alarmed aura at first as they all watch the puppy phase through the screen before a scramble. They all start to shove each other, trying to get towards it.

Cody: What a good- HEY! KRANKY! BUTT OUT, I SAW HIM FIRST!

KrakenKid: WELL CLEARLY HE LOVES ME MORE!

Tanith: I'm gonna name him Barry!

Selena: IF YOU CAN GET TO HIM YOU COULD, BUT THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!

Sam cuts through the crowd and blows a whistle. The puppy comes running into her arms, shocking the rest of them.

Sam: Mine now, suckers. Cody Jr is mine

Cody: I'm not sure if that's a insult or a compliment...

Another pops up for Ace and Chester. Both freeze as it wanders around before plopping in Ace's lap. Ace looks like he's gonna cry- wait, scratch that, he's definitely crying and hugging the little dog.

Chester: Huh. Always did have a way with animals.

Cody's eyes instantly light up, while KrakenKid sticks his tongue out at it.

KrakenKid: The Undertow? Seriously? What boozoo thought of that?

Cody: THAT'S THE BEST NAME EVER!

Professor Pikalus and Tanith both look at each other before shrugging. Sam gives a thumbs up to Cody when he's looking, but shakes her head when he's not. CannibalCrab pretends to hate it, but secretly loves it as much as Cody.

Selena: Not too bad, I could do better though

Blooper: Agreed! Like, 'Explosinators'!

Selena: ...On second thought, The Undertow is fine.

Ace seems to mull it over.

Ace: Under... Toe? Like the body part?

Chester: No, no. It's referring to a type of current that can't be seen, but is deadly. It pulls people under the surface, often drowning them. It's quite clever really.

Cody seems confused for a moment.

Cody: That's not a question- wait... Where'd my spear go?

Cody frantically pats himself down before rushing out of the room, screaming. Many of the others do the same, leaving the girls, and CannibalCrab, shrugging to each other.

Sam: Looks like we've been spared.

Chester seems hesitant, but gives in.

Chester: The basics of me are as follows: I'm the youngest of twelve kids and two parents who passed down magic to the rest of us. We're in the poor district, though we have a better life than most. I'm considered a 'Child Genius' due to my ability to learn at an accelerated rate, but I'm not the best with people. I befriended Ace, and he's pretty much one of my only friends.

You feel as though some chapters in Sea Serpent such as 'Ace In The Hole' and 'Calm Before The Storm' might contain more detail.

As he gets back, Pikalus grimaces. Unknowingly, he fiddles with his gun as he speaks.

Professor Pikalus: Not a fan. From experience, they're a rather big pain and can really screw with your identity. Hulk is mine, and while I would love to get rid of him, I feel like even if I did, he's always going to be a part of me. I can't get rid of him now that he exists.

Tanith laughs at the question, gesturing to Cody.

Tanith: My only problem is with predatory birds! If they're not really predatory or proven to be not a threat, they're fine! Cody can't fly, so he's already off the list! Some tropical birds are also off it, though Emus are actually on it. Those birds are the devil.

You're pretty sure she's had an bad encounter with an emu.

Tanith seems a little off guard by the question.

Tanith: Really? I'm the one getting it? I haven't seen my family in ages but... I can give it a go.

She looks around the room, before starting at KrakenKid.

Tanith: KK is definitely a Dad. He's got that kinda rough around the edges but sweet on the inside personality that fits well, and can get pretty protective. Sam is the older sister, she might get rough with you sometimes, but she loves you and will beat anyone up who disrespects you. Prof is the older brother for similar reasons as Sam, plus he's a little aloof.

Pikalus seems to grumble but doesn't argue. Tanith goes on.

Tanith: Cody is the middle child who actually turned out really well and is great in sports and stuff. He's the brother that has others saying 'Why can't you be more like your brother?' Even if he doesn't mean it. CannibalCrab is the dorky teenager born right after him and has never had an edgy phase.

Cannibal wants to protest, but can't seem to.

Tanith: Selena is the teenager girl who's always out doing things and has a guilty record of using her phone too much and sneaking out at night. Blooper is the baby of the family, who acts like an angel and gets away with a lot more than he should.

While some people agree or disagree, Sam finds it awfully funny that she left out the Mom spot, most likely for herself.

Tanith seems to brighten up like a child at Christmas, clapping her hands together.

Tanith: I love demons! Their stories are fascinating and while some get a bad rep, they're actually not too bad! The Elites are my favorite though!

The others seem to stare in confusion before Cody speaks up.

Cody: Uh... Elites?

Tanith: You know! Like the ones in the War Of The World!

Cody gives her a blank look. Tanith's eyes widen like he just told her he's dying.

Tanith: No way... You guys don't know the War Of The World? I heard it when I was a hatchling! It's the most important part of history and they don't teach it?

They all look at each other and shake their heads in unison. Tanith seems shocked, but straightens up.

Tanith: Then let me tell you!

Tanith takes in a long breath.

Tanith: A very long time ago, the world was divided, much more than it was now. Pride made all the kingdoms think they were the best, and fighting broke out. That's when the two beings stepped in to stop it!

She hesitates for a moment.

Tanith: Since there are a thousand different names for these two, I'm going with the universal ones: The Diplomat and The Warrior. The Diplomat spread peace where he could, and helped merge kingdoms together, and stop bloodshed. But, when it couldn't be stopped, The Warrior would step in, pick a side, or something even chose neither, and won the battle for whoever he was fighting for.

Professor silently wonders if he should get Tanith to be a history teacher.

Tanith: The Warrior's favorite soldiers were beings from another realm: The demons. There were three types: The more demon looking ones were very strong, the more human ones had strong magic, and the elites, who were both, had some of both. They were his strongest, and helped him win battles.

Cody: Huh, never heard that story... What happened to these two? Did they die?

Tanith: Some say they couldn't die, but, you can believe what you will about them.

You wonder if these two remind you of anyone...
