Chapter 9

Thank you guys so much for 1K views, this means so much for me to reach this much views on my story. And, from pure inspiration, I wrote something for Percabeth. When I finished writing it, I thought I might include it in the 1K special for this story. It might not be much of a special but I owe it to you guys. I found the picture and it kinda fits what I wrote. It will be down below with my usual A/N so hang in there until the end of the chappie. Read on!

3rd person POV

The Avengers followed the Seven, Thalia and Nico to the grounds to discuss Capture the Flag whilst Bruce accompanied Will to the infirmary. Bruce knew that he couldn't be around campers with his whole issue but when things were under control and he felt much more comfortable about it all, he'd join in eventually.

Other thing is, he was told by Will about the game and knew he had to sit out because he barely knew how to defend himself, especially with their style of weapons but during the time that they stayed there, he knew he'd gradually learn over time.

They led the Avengers to the armour and weapons where each of them was confused, except for the four Avengers that knew about Percy's life to begin with. "Um, Percy, I thought we were gonna play Capture the Flag, not start WWIII." Tony spoke, still trying to piece things together.

As Percy looked back, the memory of last night hit him. "That's right, I forgot to talk about Capture the Flag with you guys, I just kinda summed up my whole demigod life without that much detail. Which was still a lot. You guys will find out why you have this stuff, just grab a weapon if you don't already have one and some armour and helmet if you don't already have it on. Trust me, you'll need it."

Glancing at each other, the Avengers grabbed armour and helmet that fit onto them well and Steve, Tony, Wanda, Pietro, Vision and Sam grabbed a weapon of their choice, either a sword, dagger or bow and arrows was up to them.

Making their way out onto the field, most of Camp Half - Blood was ready and the Hunters were prepared from the start so there was no need for them to grab weapons or armour. Once both teams were at the meeting spot, flags ready and the Avengers getting used to the customs.

Mr. D walked up to the front and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, alright, quiet now! Hey, Perry Johnson, quiet." Percy laughed to himself for a bit before quieting down. "Okay, you know the rules, this is a friendly game because the Hunters are here, even if I don't really like it that way, it must be done."

Chiron received glares from all the Hunters which some of the campers snickered at. "Okay, make sure the flag is easily seen but also easily defended, don't maim or kill otherwise no dessert for one week, blah bah blah, the river is the boundary line, whole forest is okay and all that. Now go, do whatever you need to do."

Running off, each team split up to opposite sides of the forests so they could place their flag and make a plan as to how to win. The campers were determined to beat the Hunters for once and with the Avengers to aid them, they had a much bigger chance to win.

Percy and Annabeth were made co-captains of Camp Half - Blood whilst Thalia was made co-captain with the second best Hunter on the team. Each team huddled to decide where to place the flag, the campers smirking because they had an extreme advantage when it came to speed.

The Hunters set up their flag near the Myrmeke Hill, not so close as to attract attention of the Myrmekes and clearly visible on a large rock. The campers decided on placing their flag near Zeus' Fist because it was still clearly visible and could be easily defended but also because they could not think of a better spot to place it without repeating any places they'd placed the flag in the past.

Each team huddled in for a group meeting to devise the plan they would set in order to win, and on the side of the forest of Camp Half - Blood's team, Percy and Annabeth left the job of capturing the flag to one particular Avenger who would give Camp Half - Blood the win they desired over the Hunters after being beat 56 times in a row.

And were the Hunters in for a surprise.

>>> After planning <<<

(Note: Not much talking because it's Capture the Flag, so yeah. And sorry if some things aren't accurate, if they aren't, tell me and I'll fix things up)

Each team was set for battle, positions secured and guards set. The Hunters, positive they would win, made the place for the start of the game on the side they had their flag but in the space in the forest where there were no landmarks.

With one signal from the Hunters, both teams charged forward, battle ready. Some of the campers were assigned to defend the Avengers who had the least amount of skill when it came to hand-to-hand combat, leaving the rest to do their thing.

Thalia and the other co-captain had set out the two most stealthiest Hunters on the run to grab the flag and both of them found their way around the battle scene. Annabeth knew that Thalia would send out some sneaky Hunters so when Annabeth saw that two Hunters had dispersed from the fight, she signalled for the plan to begin.

The campers that were stuck in the middle of the crossfire fought so that there would be a small enough space for Pietro to run through with minimum contact to any weapons, Wanda being the one who did most of the work. He did carry his own dagger for he may need to defend himself if the Hunters ever knocked him off his feet. Thankfully, the armour he wore didn't slow his movements down.

Once the space was wide enough, Pietro came out of hiding from the trees and bolted straight through and fortunately, no one noticed. Except for Thalia. Hanging around the Avengers means you got to know them better and she remembered seeing a blue flash whenever Pietro used his super speed.

The other Hunters thought it was either a trick of the light or it was Percy using his water powers to try and hit someone. Willing not to break the Hunter's winning streak, Thalia sent a group of Hunters out to stall Pietro so the other Hunters that were retrieving the flag had enough time to cross the river with the flag.

In the woods, Pietro ran every which direction, avoiding trees and keeping an eye out for the red flag the Hunters placed in the woods. Finally spotting a banner of red attached to a pole, Pietro halted behind a large tree, catching his breath and staying out of peripheral view of the guards.

Pietro took a look from behind the tree trunk, seeking for a way through without being slashed. He found an opening from behind the area the Hunters guarded so, ducking back behind the tree, he ran out from the left, went through the gap and stopped, quickly grabbing the flag before mockingly saluting the two Hunter's guards before running off, flag in his grasp.

The guards chased after Pietro but knew they could never catch up to him, even with their enhanced abilities. As Pietro ran, arrows were attempting to graze his legs so he wouldn't be in the shape to run. Dodging each one just as easily as the next, he glanced ahead and saw the slow motion movement through his view of someone sticking out their foot.

Side-stepping it and any other person who tried to trip him, he kept holding tight to the flag and making sure he made it to the river. In the distance, Pietro could hear battle cries, shouts and the clashing of metal, along with the occasional lightening sounds or waves from the river, where the battle got moved to all of a sudden.

Pietro tucked the banner behind him as he checked how he was supposed to get across. The river was thrashing with Percy's waves and the battle had spread across so that there was no opening visible for him to run straight through to the other side.

Thor would bang his hammer every so often and Loki would create some illusions but otherwise stood aside, because 2 gods on the same team would be unfair to the others. Sam flew around every now and then, dodging arrows from the Hunters who were trying to loosen a buckle or two so that he would come down.

Wanda and Vision worked along side each other, a light beam or a deflection came every now and then to avoid arrows and to attack, but not really to hurt. Steve and Tony worked with each other, even if Cap was doing most of the work. Natasha and Clint worked side by side, daggers slashing and arrows being fired every which way. (For some reason, this moment made me picture Apollo and Artemis fighting side by side. Is that weird?)

Peter never went near any of the Athena kids and because there were many of them, he tried his best to stay on the outskirts of the battle. However, there were some Athena children with the Hunters so he used his skills to an advantage every now and then.

There would usually be an opening every few seconds in the battle for him to go through, but that would always be blocked off by someone being pushed or forced backwards during their fight. He knew that he couldn't wait there for a clear opening because a Hunter would see him soon and the others would catch up to him eventually.

Taking a risk for the next opening, he sprinted across as fast as he could, but a sword accidentally slashed his right calf, injuring him and making him unable to run. He'd stopped in the middle of the river, the flag still in his grasp. Every Hunter saw the glint of red fabric and immediately moved away from their fights to try and stop Pietro from reaching the other side.

Pietro had been through worse and knew he could keep going so before the Hunters descended on him, he shot back up and used most of the energy he had to just make it to the other side, waving the flag showing he'd made it across.

Camp Half - Blood cheered, all ecstatic that they'd finally bet the Hunters of Artemis after having lost against them 56 times straight. As he was just about to collapse onto the ground, he was lifted up by his sister and Percy, who were covered in minimal scratches, bruises and cuts.

Exiting the forest, he was met with applause from all of Camp Half - Blood, some congratulating him and patting him on the back as he was led to the infirmary to get patched up by Will, Bruce or any other Apollo child who were all tending to injuries from before the game, during it and right after it ended.

The Hunters were angry that they'd lost after such a good winning streak, and because the one who carried their flag was a boy, but many grew over the loss and the rest of the day carried on as it normally did. Some kids getting burned on the lava wall, the usual injury during training every once in a while, new demigods coming in and finding out about their godly parent, those type of things.

However, whilst the camp was celebrating a victory against the Hunters of Artemis, down below, the treacherous primordial of the Pit itself was getting ready his many torture weapons and devices to use for Percy that very night. Screams and sobs were heard down the hallway and all he could do was chuckle to himself.

"Those pesky mortals won't be there to protect you forever, son of Poseidon. Soon, they will perish by my hands, as well as you and whoever you hold dearest to you. You best be prepared Perseus, for my army is growing faster every minute, every moment you take a breath." The evil primordial evilly smirked.

"Best you use those last breaths with those closest to you, for they could possibly be your final ones." He took out a special blade he'd been waiting to use for a long time, examining it to see the blade in all its glory. His smirk building, he took a deep breath and hissed, with his low, hollow voice,

"Finally you will pay for what you've done to me."

A/N what did you guys think? Was this okay for a 1K special? Writer's block is so frustrating but I think I did well on the last part. I think. So, if you've been looking forward to what I wrote about Percabeth, then here it is:

Together, the power they possess is like the raging sea in his eyes.

Unstoppable.

Together, the attacks they inflict are like the stormy grey weather in her eyes.

Unpredictable.

Together, the love they share is like the string of fate that bonded them together.

Unbreakable.

What do you guys think? Comment here if it's okay or if I should make any improvements or adjustments.

Maybe I might be able to get over my enormous writer's block soon, we'll see. If I don't do the usual update I'm supposed to do next week, that's because I'm busy doing stuff for my birthday. Yes, my birthday is next week, and the Poseidon cabin is gonna be an absolute mess. Leo is going nowhere near the sugary stuff, he'll just keep setting things on fire and that's gonna be annoying.

If I can, I might be able to give you guys some blue cookies (if there are any left) or any food that is blue, so if you want some (virtually), make sure to stop by ASAP next week for the update.

Okay, gonna continue copying Percabeth images from the internet and from photos, so pretty much drawing them all out and putting them all in my 'Shipping Journal' in the chapter named 'Percabeth.' Fortunately, my brother and Annabeth are down by the lake so I can draw without being awkwardly disturbed. Oh wait, I gotta IM Tyson, he said he was coming by camp soon.

See ya for another adventure!
