Chapter 6
Percy's POV
Nick Fury, or Pirate Guy as I like to call him, lead me to an interrogation room, which I would like to call it since the only things in the room were a metal chair and table, and the entire room was nothing but white. Cliché interrogation room if you ask me.
Sitting myself down, my ADHD got the best of me, as I sat here thinking about this interrogation room. Seriously, can someone please make an interrogation room look more interesting? A person like me and all the other demigods don't like having something to distract themselves with.
Then again, Pirate Guy here was trying to interrogate me whilst my thoughts were elsewhere. If someone wanted answers, ask kindly, maybe just a normal talk, but being me, that will never happen. Who am I kidding, one of my biggest distractions since I got here! Should probably start listening.
"Perseus Jackson! Answer my question! Why'd you blow up St. Louis Arch?!" Wow, Director Fury seemed absolutely, well, you know, furious. It does fit his title though. Speaking of his title, how'd his last name end up as Fury? Seriously, if you were a demigod and didn't know him at all, you'd think he was an actual fury!
I could imagine that right now. Annabeth taking out her dagger that she finally got returned, trying to slash at Fury, scaring him away. That would be one sight to see. My ADHD was really acting up now because I hadn't noticed the blood dripping down from my right arm.
Looking down, I saw a shallow blade slash from a few centimetres away from my wrist and coming down centimetres before the joint section. Honestly, I had gotten so accustomed to being cut, whipped and burnt that I would feel absolutely nothing from a tiny slash.
Looking up to Fury, I questioned, "Um, was that supposed to hurt? You know, you didn't have to add to all the other marks on me." Fury was shocked but quickly regained his normal scowl. "Let me ask you one last time. Why'd you blow up St. Louis Arch, Mr. Jackson?" That just made me sound old.
"First of all, it's Percy. Second, I'm just a kid who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time so please just take "terrorist" off my file and everything should be fine." Fury wore a suspicious look on his face, walking around the room. "Then can you please explain what you were doing in Rome and Greece with other individuals?"
Let's see, what would I say, being the Seaweed Brain that I am? "Meeting some relatives. Haven't really seen them in a while." It's sort of true. And it is convincing, but my head will start to hurt with all these questions he's asking me.
Facing me, Fury queried, "Then explain to me how you keep going off of S.H.I.E.L.D's radar?" Oh gods, how do I explain this? Actually, I'll tell him with the Avengers tomorrow. Besides, they may have some of the same questions as Pirate Guy. I exhaled. Let's hope things go well.
Sighing, I explained, "Okay, I must admit, some of those things were lies, but if you want a full explanation, just come back here tomorrow morning so you can join the Avengers. I don't want to repeat the story over again." Fury glared down at me but all I did was roll my eyes.
Not many people can top my glare. Thinking about it, I don't know anyone who can. This will be fun to look at. I glared back at him and he flinched, yet understood, making a curt nod. Please, that wasn't even my medium wolf glare. Walking out, he addressed, "You've got some huge explaining to do tomorrow. And make sure to clean that cut."
Shrugging, I stood up and walked out the door, heading to the kitchen downstairs since my bedroom would be further that the kitchen and I just want to heal my arm as quickly as possible. Turning the sink on, the cut healed almost instantly since it was so shallow and left no trace that it was ever there.
"What'd he ask you?" I flicked my head back to see Thalia standing by the doorway. I had a casual face on. "You know, why I blew up St. Louis Arch, why we were in Greece and Rome and how I'd gone on and off of S.H.I.E.L.D's radar somehow." Thalia shook her head.
"Trouble always seems to find you, Kelp head." That is almost 100% true, because on rare occasions, I find the trouble myself. "Almost all the time, Pine-cone Face." She sighed, used to her nickname. It will never get old. Passing by, I heard her mutter 'boys' under her breath. Classic Thalia.
Turning back, I declared, "I'm heading to the pool. Wanna come?" I cheekily grinned as she looked at me as if I'd grown another limb. "And suffocate? No thanks. I think I'm just going to explore this place a bit. I don't think I'm gonna end up leaving anytime soon." Chuckling, I ran to my room, grabbing my swimming trunks and shirt before heading to the pool.
Ever since I've come out of 'that place', I didn't want anyone seeing the scars I'd gotten because it would send me in flashbacks, other people would be mortified if they caught even a glimpse of my abdomen and I didn't want any looks of pity.
Snapping out of my trance, I'd finally reached the pool and went to the bathroom to change into my swimwear. Of course, I changed rapidly because my favourite place to be is in my father's domain. Anywhere with a river, lake, pond, pool, I'd just dive straight in.
Rushing outside, I told Jarvis, "Jarvis, can you tell me when dinner is ready?" It still creeps me out that there's a voice in the ceiling that has no body. Well, there is a physical form, but that's just a duplicate. "Of course, Percy." Satisfied, I cannon-balled directly in the centre of the pool, sank to the bottom and relaxed, finally able to enjoy myself.
Tony's POV
I still can't get the image of Percy's scars out of my head! They were all over his chest, abdomen, around his back. There wasn't a place where bare skin was even visible! Burn marks, dagger slashes, whip marks, and Bruce told me that he'd been poisoned before. Bruce told me that Percy said, and I quote, "'Been poisoned so many times, I've lost count.'" A normal kid nearly 17 could have never gotten poisoned so many times, much less get that many scars.
Bruce also mentioned that only a small amount of those scars were abuse whilst the rest was part of the explanation tomorrow. Well, I'm not waiting for tomorrow, I'm getting those answers tonight! Steve's already called the pizza place since it's Friday and the pizza should be here minutes from now so I should probably find Percy. I've got to get him to explain tonight.
"Jarvis, where's Percy?" I demanded. A second later, Jarvis responded. "In the pool, sir." The pool. That reminds me, Percy was able to breath underwater for so long, you'd think he drowned already. "How long has he been in the pool?" Checking the clock, it was 6:13 and the interrogation with Fury ended at 12:20 so he couldn't have stayed underwater that long. "Nearly 6 hours, sir."
6 hours?! Percy could not have survived that long underwater, surely he'd come up for air. "He has not come up for air, sir, however his vitals are perfectly stable." Did I say that out loud? "Yes you did, sir." Great. But Jarvis said his vitals were fine and he hadn't come up for a single breath once. This kid is worrying, let me tell you. I ran as fast as I could to the pool, hoping Jarvis really wasn't lying.
Reaching the pool, Thalia sat calmly, twiddling with one of her arrows tipped with that strange metal Percy had for his sword. "Kelp head is fine, he does this a lot. Your tower is amazing by the way, the targets here are better than some at camp." There's that nickname we heard earlier in the day.
Percy popped out of the pool, finally relieving myself of the worry. But now, I looked at him, strangely shocked because he came out of the pool completely dry. "This day gets weirder and stranger every second." Thalia glanced at Percy and she pointed at me, then gestured to how dry he was.
Percy looked down at himself, then me and pursed his lips together. I could see he was wearing a shirt whilst swimming so no one saw his scars. Good, because I don't want to have those scars on my mind too much. Recovering from my recent shock, I announced, "Just change the explanation to tonight. There's no way I'm waiting till morning. And pizza should be here by now."
He shared a silent conversation with Thalia before nodding his consent. "Might want to get that Fury guy back here. He needs the explanation too." Slowly walking out the door, I smelt the pizza's aroma making its way around the floor.
I can't wait! Most of it for the pizza, some of that for the explanation. "Jarvis, contact Fury saying that Percy's gonna be explaining tonight." as Jarvis confirmed he'd contacted Fury, I raced to the living room to gab some pizza. It's an absolute catastrophe trying to get some pizza before anyone else does.
Reaching the lounge, I noticed Peter had been able to make it and told us that his aunt had to go out and visit an old friend of hers out of town but she made Peter stay since he had school to attend. Clapping my hands to get everyone's attention, I announced, "Percy's going to explain tonight." Each of them stared at me, surprised that Percy made the decision to explain tonight.
"You might want to get comfortable because it's a really long story." I jumped, startled that Thalia snuck up behind me. Will do, but first, we have to fight for the pizza. Everyone except Natasha, Wanda and Thalia rushed to get some.
Thalia shook her head, exasperated and walked up, snatching 3 slices and handing one to both of them. Finally getting one and getting comfortable, Natasha asked, "How'd you manage to get pizza? For the 3 of us?" Thalia smirked and answered, "When pizza night comes in our camp, you get used to this type of thing and eventually find out how to get pizza slices eventually."
Both Wanda and Natasha nodded. Even with multiple pizzas, the team still rushes for them. Especially me. Eating our slices, Percy walked in casually, Bermuda shorts and an orange shirt with a black pegasus in the middle and white words above it saying, "Camp Half-Blood". That must be the camp he goes to. Another thing to explain.
Fury walked in, also grabbed himself a slice of pizza, sat down and huffed, "Get on with the explaining then." Percy sat next to Thalia and pointed out, "Before I do, you 5 should explain where I can't. You know why." Wanda, Thor, Loki, Vision and Thalia agreed, then Percy breathed in deeply, before releasing,
"What do you guys know about Greek Mythology?"

A/N I know, not exactly a unique chapter ending but it's hot here and right now, my head can't think of a better ending to the chapter at this point. Also saying, if you like this, you might like my crossover story with PJO/HOO, the Avengers, HP and MLB (Miraculous Ladybug). They survive the games Slenderman and FNAF (MLB don't do Slenderman) but I'm not sure if I've already mentioned this because I've done it so many times on my other stories. Check the description for it for a better explanation. So many explanations! For now, bye!
See ya for another adventure!
