Annabeth's POV
It's amazing that we, Camp Half - Blood, with the help of the Avengers, managed to beat the Hunters! Finally our losing streak has been broken. Right now, we all sat in the mess hall, each of us already having given our offerings and happily eating our food.
Chiron, being generous, had organised an additional table where the Seven were permitted to sit, as well as anyone they invited over. Because we usually invite many other demigods to sit with us, the table was made bigger than the rest, meaning there was enough room for all the Avengers to sit with us and talk about what they thought about the demigod version of Capture the Flag.
"That was not what I expected it to be." Tony said, sitting down with his dinner and having made an offering to Hephaestus. The Avengers decided that they would make offerings to the gods of the cabins they were staying in, so it didn't seem rude and because they wished to learn more about the ways of the Greek.
Some, like Thor, felt uncomfortable about offering food to the Greek version of himself, seeing as it was weird for a god to be offering food to a god high above whilst he stood down here in what he called 'midguard'.
"Yeah, we really need to know what other strange things you guys do here in camp." Steve commented, sitting next to Tony and having already made his offering to mom. Eventually, all the Avengers had made their offerings, chatting and laughing with Percy's friends and family.
For those brief minutes, we demigods felt normal, which was really rare when you're a demigod, especially if you're Seaweed Brain and one of his friends. Me being his girlfriend, I was in the most danger, but under high protection. The closer you are to Percy, the more you are protected and the more you are in danger.
Sometimes I wonder how lucky I was to be Percy's girlfriend. Having been through so much, we were almost inseparable, but that reason is mostly because of these nightmares we've had of Ta- the Pit. That's why Chiron allows me to sleep with Percy in Cabin 3.
Which reminds me, since I wasn't there to comfort Percy during his nightmares, what had they turned into? Our nightmares would usually be memories of our time there, but for Percy, it was always about losing me. I'd have to ask him when we got ready for bed.
I also noticed, as I sat next to Percy during dinner, that he didn't really eat much. He ate a few minor things, a couple of chunks of meat here and there, but that would be it. Gods, he didn't even eat much of his dessert! Something is up with Percy to make him skip dessert; he always wolfs it down his throat, being the Seaweed Brain he is.
Something's up with Percy. And being me, I wanted to find out what it was.

Crawling into bed with Percy, I turned to meet his face on the bed, him straight away kissing my nose. I giggled before asking the question that had been on my mind since dinner.
"Percy, what were your nightmares like back at the Avenger's tower?" Percy stiffened when he heard my question. I called him by his real name, which meant I was being serious. He looked around frantically as I stared at him, willing Percy to give me my answer. Reluctantly, he let out some information.
"My nightmares aren't memories anymore. They're . . . they're . . ." He sucked in a deep breath before letting his words out.
"They're like I'm back down there again. Except, this time, I was alone." I stared wide-eyed at Percy. In our nightmares before, they were but memories, memories of the pain we'd endured or memories of the pain inflicted on the other.
If Percy said that it was like being back down in that, that, that torture chamber, it means that he was actually going through suffering and pain once more, that he was retrieving more scars every night that would never fade away. Staring into his broken sea green eyes, I made the look I always made when I pleaded for more information. Sighing, he spoke deeper into the topic.
"The primordial of the Pit himself comes into my dreams every night, torturing me until I awaken, which is always hard doing. When I do, I always wake up to all the cuts and burns he inflicted on me in my drea-" He clamped his mouth shut, and before he could do anything, I swiftly lifted his shirt up and gasped.
Percy's torso and abdomen were covered in new scars that overlapped his old ones, along with new burn marks and whatever other torture device you could use on someone. As quick as I'd pulled up his shirt, Percy tugged it back down, knotting his eyebrows with worry laced through his eyes.
I looked back at him, practically begging him to tell me anything else. If anything was wrong with him, I wanted to be able to help him through his pain. He's protected and cared for me so many times that I feel like I need to do the same. I feel as if I owe him everything, which you could say I do. If I had fallen down there alone, I would have never seen the light of day again.
Percy sought out any other information to tell me before saying it out loud.
"Loki's managed to pull me out of my dreams, but I still come out with the pain, blood always strewn all over the sheets. Someone else would get a bucket of water to dump it on me so I could heal myself and wash away the blood, but the memories and pain of the nightmare don't fade away."
Taking a deep breath so he could muster something to say, he let it out.
"Tonight, I can't imagine how much more pain he's got planned for me. Last time, it was worse than the first one so I'll just have to brace myself tonight. Also, as much as I love and need you sleeping next to me, I don't want my blood to get on those clothes of yours."
Worriedly, I held onto Percy's hand as he spooned me into a hug. "Seaweed Brain, I wouldn't care if I got blood on my clothes, it's happened all the time. However, I will get off the bed, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving your side." Getting up, I dragged a stool and placed it next to Percy who had sat up to be at the same level as I was.
>>> FLUFF WARNING <<<
Placing my hand on his knee, I reassured him, "I'll stay right here, right beside you, so you don't have to worry so much about me, and I won't worry so much about you. I know that if I ever lost you, my life would remain incomplete. An empty void that no other person could fill in, a void where you'd vanished completely. We've already had Hera split us apart, I'm not going to allow a primordial of the likes of him do that too."
Percy caressed my cheek and wiped away the tears I'd cried with his thumb, soothing me with every word he spoke, and every touch he made.
"Without you, I would never be the same, Wise Girl. Every breath I take, every movement I make has been to be there by your side, as well as the others, but most of that focus has always been on you. Our friends, no matter what they do to try and make me feel better, those attempts would always crumble into little pieces because I would've never been able to get you off my mind, knowing that you died instead of me."
I was shaking, tears pouring faster out of my eyes as Percy kept his hand on my cheek, brushing them away every once in a while. "You should know that from Elysium and back, no one would have the ability to split us apart forever. Like elastic bands, they could stretch us further and further apart, but we'll always bounce back to each other, no matter how far or how long we're separated, not even death will be able to separate us."
He put his cheeky face on before letting out another few statements. "Well, he could never really separate us; Thanatos is too nice to separate us from each other." I laughed along with Percy, knowing that I could always count on him to lighten up the mood during our darkest moments.
I ceased my laughing once Percy grabbed me by the waist and pulled me onto his lap, leaning his forehead against my own. Smiling, he muttered so only we could hear, "How did I get so lucky to have you?"
Returning his warm smile, I responded with, "Sometimes I wonder the same thing too, Seaweed Brain." Percy chuckled lightly and softly before pulling me in for a kiss. It was one of those few passionate kisses we shared with each other, soft, sweet and longing.
I gently wrapped my arms around his neck as he held onto my waist and had now cupped my cheek. Together, our lips moved in sync as we blocked out the rest of the world, just us in complete darkness and silence, nothing but Percy on my mind.
Continuing until we separated for air, he swivelled me around on his lap as he hugged me tightly from behind, of course, not so tight that I would get the air knocked out of me. He nuzzled his head into the crook of my neck, breathing in my scent as I relaxed under his touch.
He set me back down on my stool and lay back down as I stroked his hair, whispering, "I'll stay here all night, Seaweed Brain. You can count on that."
>>> Another time skip <<<
Making sure I stayed awake all night, I tidied Percy's cabin, seeing as he never really does it himself. I grabbed a glass of water and prepared an ice cold bucket to splash on Percy when he needed to heal. I knew that if Loki had to pull Percy out of his nightmares, then that meant that pouring a bucket of water over Percy would only heal him, but he'd remain trapped in his nightmare.
I set that down near the stool I sat on, and continued cleaning Percy's cabin. I'd waited two hours for any reaction, the time being 1:04 am. As I sorted out Percy's clothes, checking which ones were clean and which could be folded and used again, I heard creaking coming from Percy's side of the room.
It's quite normal for the cabins to creak or squeak, considering some of the materials they were made of, or some of the objects we had in them, so I decided not to worry about it. Minutes later, however, I got the faint stench of blood and I heard the creaking become the shuffles of someone wriggling in bed.
Seconds later, a loud scream was heard from Percy's bed, possibly loud enough to wake up half or all of camp. Running to his side, I began pouring some water on Percy in areas where he seemed to be the most injured, awaiting the arrival of the Norse God of Mischief to grab Percy out of the torture chamber he entered each time he slept.

A/N So, what'd you guys think? The surprise party that Percy and our friends threw for me was AMAZHANG!! Even though my birthday was the 23rd, we didn't have time to celebrate it until yesterday. The gifts they got me were just as wonderful (many of them being blue :) ) and being able to spend my birthday with my friends was absolutely enjoyable.
Thank you @ilove3101 for giving me that hint about when the characters spoke, I'll make sure to keep it in mind for future chapters. If your reading this (and you probably are), thank you so much! This makes my writing easier than it was before, since I couldn't quite decide how to even out some of the paragraphs, so once again, thank you!
Oh my gods, gotta go, I promised Leo that I'd play Undertale with him, and since I'd played it before, I'll have to teach him the ropes. With me around, he's doing the pacifist run, he gets way too hyped up when he's fighting monsters here, and he'll end up having a bad time if he does the genocide run. Gotta go, make sure to wait for the next chapter.
See ya for another adventure!
