Attack

Seán followed JJ to a small house and watched him step up to the door and knock on it, not surprised when no one answered.

"Look, I still don't really know who you are, but I have more important things to-"

Seán broke off when the door swung open, Chase's eyes rimmed red as if he had been crying and a mostly empty bottle of alcohol held loosely in his hand.

"Leave me alone, I'm not worth anyone's time." Chase muttered before he started to close the door, JJ stopping the door with his hand.

"Chase, whats going on with you?" Seán questioned gently as he stepped towards Chase, the male retreating back further into his home with fresh tears shining in his eyes.

"I'm fine, I'm okay, there's nothing wrong with me." Chase muttered to himself as he ran his free hand through his hair.

"Let me help you." Seán pleaded, reaching for his friend.

"No, he's not real, I'm just going crazy." Chase assured himself in a panicked tone before he darted away from them, Seán and JJ following.

Chase stopped in his kitchen where a brightly colored gun was lying on the table next to a framed picture of him with two kids and a woman, presumably his family.

"One more round of drinks, one more round of roulette. Here's to hoping that this is the one that ends it all." Chase declared, taking another drink out of the bottle as he grabbed the gun off of the table and pressed it to the side of his head.

"STOP!" Seán cried, Chase already pulling the the trigger with his eyes closed, his expression peaceful.

"Damn." Chase growled as he slammed his drink down on the table, spinning the chamber of his gun.

JJ intervened by wrestling the gun out of his hand, which wasn't hard since he was drunk, the mute throwing the gun across the room before hugging Chase.

"You're not real, Marvin killed you!" Chase sobbed, JJ producing a box of tissues for him with a sad smile.

"Wait what?" Seán interjected, glancing between Chase and JJ with a confused frown.

JJ used the notepad he was still holding in his other hand to quickly write something down before giving it to Seán to read.

I met Schneep and Chase when they were working on the very first version of the antiserum. They needed a test subject, so I volunteered. In return, I gained these powers to create small objects at will by molding the matter around me.

"So that's how you do that...that's pretty fucking cool." Seán remarked, JJ smiling as he write more.

However, the antiserum has made me mute, which made my movie actor career end rather quickly. Marvin was a regular magician at the time when I passed by him on the streets, desperate to preform real magic. When he saw the powers I had, he tortured me within an inch of my life to try and get me to tell him how to make the antiserum. I pretended to have died so he wouldn't find me and try to kill me again.

"Damn man." Seán whistled, JJ turning to Chase and signing something to him with his hands.

"You know sign language?" Seán asked Chase as the male nodded, replicating the pattern with a sad smile.

"Yeah, he's the one that taught me. I still remember, even after all these years." Chase chuckled lightly.

"Well, what'd you say?" Seán prompted curiously, Chase shaking his head.

"You'll learn one day." Chase promised before he walked over to his gun and picked it up, cocking it before striding towards the door.

"C'mon, we've got a doctor to save!" Chase shouted over his shoulder to the pair, JJ and Seán running after him.

"Jack!"

Seán's eyes widened as an extremely pale person with blue eyes and pastel purple hair tackled Chase to the ground, sending his gun skidding away from him as the attacker bared his bloodstained teeth.

Pedestrians who noticed the fight started panicking, some calling the police much to Seán's irritation.

"The hell is this thing?" Seán grunted as he pulled the attacker off of Chase, allowing him to grab his gun and shoot at them.

"Me Robbie, Robbie told kill." The male stated as the bullet pierced his chest, seeming to not affect him.

"The fuck? What do we do?!" Chase blurted as Seán punched Robbie hard in the face, causing him to stagger back slightly before he tackled Seán to the ground.

"Wait..." Seán trailed off as he used his x-ray vision, allowing him to see a card embedded in Robbie's unmoving heart.

"Why are you attacking us?" Seán demanded as he managed to shove Robbie off of him so he could scramble to his feet.

"Is attack bad?" Robbie asked, tilting his head to the side as he stood up.

"Yes, attack is very bad!" Chase yelled angrily, Robbie flinching while his body tensed as if to brace himself.

"Marvin tell Robbie attack, if Robbie no listen, Robbie hurt." Robbie whimpered, lifting up his black and white long sleeve shirt to reveal several scars lining his body.

"Robbie no die since Robbie zombie, but Robbie hurt. Robbie no want hurt, Robbie want free." Robbie continued as he lowered his shirt.

"We'll free you, but we have to do something first." Seán spoke up grimly, disappearing into Chase's house before returning with a knife,

JJ frowned as he grabbed Seán's arm, an eyebrow raised as he pointed at the knife with a disapproving look.

"One of the cards is in Robbie's heart, we need it to find Schneep." Seán explained softly, JJ reluctantly letting Seán go.

"I'm sorry Robbie, please forgive me." Seán whispered as he made a clean slice down Robbie's chest with the knife, the Irishman gagging as he reached into Robbie's chest and pulled out the card.

Robbie cried out in pain as he looked down at his chest, holding his hands over the wound as he looked up at Seán with a betrayed expression.

"Oh god." Chase murmured as Seán dropped the card, the Irishman shaking as he bent over and threw up.

"I-I'm so sorry." Seán stammered, dry heaving while JJ comfortingly rubbed his back as sirens drew closer to them.

"Guys we gotta go, I don't want to have to explain any of this." Chase spoke up, Seán nodding as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before leading the trio to his house.

"Home sweet home." Seán sighed as they arrived, JJ staying outside with Robbie so he could sew up his chest.

"God, of course this card is the heart suit." Seán grumbled as he broke through the code, a video appearing on the screen of his computer.

"Two down, two to go! But, will the good doctor still be alive by then? Ooh the suspense is killing me!" Marvin laughed from out of view of the camera.

The camera showed Schneep's body hanging limp over the tank, the blood dripping from the wound in his side making the sharks snap at him.

"Bye for now super zero!" Marvin exclaimed before the video ended, the screen turning black.

"What're the suit we have now?" Chase spoke up quietly, Seán glancing at the two cards lying on his desk.

"The heart suit and the club suit." Seán listed off.

"Then we just need to find the diamond suit and spade suit." Chase sighed, rubbing his face with his hands.

"We should all get rest, it's been a hell of a day. You can stay here for tonight." Seán offered, Chase nodding in appreciation.

Seán set up a bed on the floor of his recording room for himself before making a bed for JJ on the couch, the dapper male insisting that Chase sleeps in the bed.

"Robbie no sleep, Robbie protect friends." Robbie decided as he sat by the front door, refusing to budge.

Seán looked up at the ceiling as he laid down on his makeshift bed, the Irishman eventually falling asleep due to his exhaustion.
