Once upon a time there was a happy little cartoon studio in the woods.  There worked a talented group of cartoonists who worked on animating their stories for the world to see, stories that people no matter their age, no matter if they were big or small, would enjoy.

This studio was a little slice of paradise in the woods, where they were free to pursue their passions without judgement from the rest of the world.

In this studio, they worked on the drawing, the music, the voices, and all of the other necessary components to make a cartoon great.

And the story they animated had a very special little character as the star of their cartoon....

A  cute, mischievous little demon by the name of Bendy.

Here he is now!

But Bendy wasn't the only character in the story, oh no!

There was Bendy's loyal best friend Boris, who seemed to almost always get into as much trouble as Bendy did when he was around the little guy.

There was Alice Angel, a beautiful demon girl with the loveliest voice, who was no less as mischievous as Bendy, who always had a song in her heart and a shy smile on her lips.

But like every great show, there needs to be a great villain that will really set the story, one to torment the heroes and do anything to stop them.....

There was Dante, a demon like Bendy and Alice, but he wasn't exactly as nice at all. You see, he was more of an actual devil(implied to be The Devil), and he was a gambler, and a natural born salesman. But instead of gambling with money, he preferred to do it with souls. He was a strangely charming character who used such charms to ensnare the heroes into impossible situations with his dark powers.

But some would say there was something strange about these characters, like they almost seemed to be watching the people who drew them, waiting for something.....

But that's crazy talk, because everyone knows cartoons aren't alive, right?

Right?

These four main characters along with the rest of the creatures that populated Bendy's world all made the cartoon a wonder to watch.

And when the first episode was released, people loved it! They clamoured for more, wanting to see more adventures of the characters they had begun to love so much, and the studio did so.

But with every happy cloud there's a dark shadow that follows.

You see, there was a man, who had created this story, and he had done something very dark, very dangerous a long time ago.

He had done a secret ritual that had allowed him to contact.....

A demon.

And a very dark and powerful one at that. This demon had made a deal with the man. He would allow the demon to posses one of the characters that he had created and bring along a few other souls to possess some of the characters, giving them life. The demon in turn, would help the studio flourish.

But there was one small teeny-tiny detail in the plan. You see, the demon wanted the man to build a machine.

A machine powered by ink.

An ink machine if you would call it that.

And what did it do? The demon merely laughed and told the man that he would see in time.

But there was another small detail of the plan. You see, the demon required sacrifices of the human sort to keep it's strength in the human world so it could continue to "help" the man.

That's when things started to go wrong for the studio.

Strange things began happening with ink splots appearing in pools from everywhere, the characters seemed to disappear from the paper if you took your eyes off of them long enough, and there began to be weird voices heard from the studio's walls and basement.....

And then, a most horrible thing began to happen.

People began to disappear, some leaving the studio, some quitting, but many more.....

Never left the studio.

But that was 30 years ago, and the world has long since moved on, mostly forgetting about the cartoon characters created there and the ones who created them.

So, the studio was forgotten by time and human memory.

But those still inside never forgot........
