Lots of people are getting mixed up about West Kelowna and Kelowna. To be clear, these are two different cities within British Columbia, Canada. A lake separates these cities, and they are connected by a bridge. Below, I've uploaded some maps to help you gain a better perspective on the cities and area in general. I've also added some views from hikes I've gone on. Please feel free to research the Okanagan if you're interested!

* Note about the above map. West Kelowna is located between Peachland and Kelowna*

The following photos are from Rose Valley Regional Park during the winter. Here, Rose Valley Lake will freeze over. Lots of people go skating and play hockey here.

The next one is from Blue Grouse Mountain, giving you a view of Kelowna (left), West Kelowna (right), and the bridge and lake.

These are from Kalamoir Park on the Westside/West Kelowna/Westbank. If any of these places are mentioned in the story, they're referring to the same place.

This is Terrace Mountain.

These are photos from Naramata (across the lake) at a winery. The view you're looking at is of Summerland and part of Penticton.

Finally, this is from a favourite hike of mine, Mount Boucherie! This mountain used to be a volcano, and is directly overtop of the high school used in this story. This trail is definitely not for beginners, and it will be mentioned in a bonus chapter.
