REAL LIFE

DIANA SPENT THE NEXT WEEK resting. she needed to be cleared to race in montreal and if that meant no working out or running around with her cat for a week or two, then those sacrifices had to be made. however, it did get quite lonely.

and when it did, she thankfully had oscar to keep her company.

"god, you're actually dramatic." oscar rolled his eyes as he entered the apartment and spotted diana laying lazily on her couch. since the race, diana had given oscar her spare key so that he could come in and help her unpack her moving boxes while she was "unable to do any heavy lifting" until she was cleared.

"i'll take my key back, thanks." diana responded, wincing as she sat up to face him. "what are you doing here? you finished helping me with the boxes yesterday."

"i came to spend time with you, of course." oscar scoffed, as if it was obvious. "you're broken and lonely and can't even play with your cat."

"i need a new neighbor."

"you're stuck with me, deej." oscar grinned at her, taking a seat on the couch next to her. he reached forward and grabbed the tv remote from the center coffee table. 

"deej," diana mumbled. "that's a new one."

"i've been watching a lot of 'full house' lately." oscar admitted. 

"it's cute." she smiled. "i like it."

"i thought you hated the nickname 'dj.'" oscar looked at her. diana gave him a small smile.

"that was obviously a lie. it's like how you don't really hate me calling you 'jack.'"

"how do you know i don't really hate it." oscar squinted at her. diana gave him a pointed look, as if the answer was clear as day. 

"you smile every time i call you that. you always did, even when we hated each other."

"shut up, i did not." oscar gasped. "did i really let my guard down that easily?"

"you did." diana told him. she reached forward, placing her other hand on her rib in slight discomfort as she grabbed the remote out of oscar's hand. "what are we in the mood for?"

"how far did we get in one tree hill?" oscar asked, remembering when they watched it on the plane back from australia. 

"i think we finished the first season, actually." diana said as she opened hbo max. "would you want to watch that? or maybe i can watch a show that you like to watch."

"hm," oscar thought for a moment. "we could watch that other show you like, the one with the mom and the daughter." diana blinked at him.

"you seriously want to watch gilmore girls?"
