REAL LIFE

DIANA WAS JUST ABOUT TO throw her helmet at the nearest wall (or person...whichever got in her way first). oscar always knew how to get her riled up before a race and she was nervous enough today as is, with it being her first real race in f1. she kind of hoped that oscar would lay off of her today, but of course, he had to make a jab on twitter. he was just so...frustrating.

"you okay?" nico asked, walking over to her from the other side of the gargage. "you look tense."

"just nervous." diana replied, setting her helmet down before she chucked it at the innocent teammate. "i always get tense before a race and then oscar always says something to get me just on the edge of exploding, every single time."

"oh..." nico nodded in understanding. like the rest of the drivers on the grid, he always found their rivalry quite amusing and entertaining. it was as if they were watching a drama show and all the drivers were making bets on who was going to confess their undying love first. nico, personally, had bet with lando that diana would never make the first move. she was too prideful.

"i can't let him get to my head." diana shook her head. her phone was in her little drivers' room back at the hospitality unit, but oscar's reply to her tweet earlier still had her on edge. she was starting to get genuinely nervous and scared. 

"then don't." nico replied, rolling his eyes. "ana, you're one of the best young drivers i'd ever met. just last year in australia, you finished seventh place. if anyone can get points in a car like this, and during their first race, it's you."

"nearly half the grid dnfed that race, nico. i was just lucky."

"lucky? ana, if that was the case, then this whole sport is based on luck. luck is something that comes with racing. the fact that you avoided accidents when they happened right in front of you and continued to drive through three red flags and safety cars during your first ever formula one race is impressive as hell. why do you think you got your seat?"

"i..." diana didn't know how to respond. in all honesty, her pride about that race went down the drain the second oscar had told her it was a miracle she even finished it. she knew he was just trying to make her mad, but his comment actually got to her head and now everytime she looks back on that race, she thinks that she didn't deserve the place and she was just lucky.

"you'll do great tonight, ana. not everyone can outqualify their teammate and qualify p11 at their first race. i believe in you." nico told her. "now, we should probably get going for the national anthem before we get in trouble."

"right." diana nodded. "thank you, nico. i really needed that."

DIANA ROSENTHAL GOES OFF ON RIVAL OSCAR PIASTRI

things got heated after the bahrain grand prix following a turn one incident that led to rookie driver ana rosenthal out of the race. even if you're new to formula 1, you've probably heard of diana, or better known as ana, rosenthal. shining in the junior formulas, she eventually made her spot in formula 1 after scoring one of haas' first points last year as a reserve driver during the messy australian grand prix. but all of her success so far has come with one thing that never fails to keep fans on their toes: her extreme rivalry with former f2 and f3 teammate oscar piastri. 

as soon as the lights went out in bahrain, rosenthal began to fight her way from p11 into the points. she was quick to approach oscar piastri in p8 going into turn one. unfortunately, rosenthal's glory was very short lived. as she was going into the turn, piastri made contact with her rear and while he kept going on, rosenthal's car was damaged and she was forced to retire, marking a very dramatic and unfortunate start to her formula 1 career. 

since it was a turn one incident, the stewards did not issue any penalties, but it was to no one's surprise that rosenthal was left seething about the incident, especially looking back at onboards and realizing it was, in fact, piastri at fault. once the race was over, cameras caught rosenthal storming over to her rival in the tv pen after filming the race reaction. while thankfully, nothing physical happened, there was a verbal altercation, with rosenthal calling out piastri in front of all the media. piastri was quick to argue back, making it an even bigger scene. 

once realizing the unprofessionalism, both drivers walked away from each other, but not before they were rushed with fans, interviewers, and even other drivers coming at them with questions. both drivers have yet to comment on the incident, but we can't imagine that they are currently getting into heated discussions with their respective public relations managers.
