Chapter 1

Summer vacation was definitely something to remember and boy would I remember this one. I spent the summer with my best friend, Ben Tennyson, along with his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max. I only expected this to just be a normal cross country trip, it was except with the exception of an alien watch and dealing with other sorts of alien, magic, and all sorts of stuff.

Sadly, like with many things, it had to come to an end. I was just arriving in Bellwood, riding in the Rust Bucket. "Man, why does school have to exist?" Ben groans. Gwen rolls her eyes, "Come one Doofus. Lighten up." She tells him. "Gwen's right Ben. Before you know it, Summer will be here again." Grandpa Max says, trying to cheer up the brunette. But Ben lays his head on the table, groaning some more.

I sat across from him and reached my hand out to pat him on the head, "Don't worry B. Besides, who knows? Maybe we might get called to action soon." I said, pumping my fist in the air to cheer him up. Ben looked up and couldn't help but smile, "I guess your right, Shortie." He says, I pout when he calls me that name, "Hey! I'm still growing so watch it!" I rebuttal. He, Gwen and Max all laugh and I couldn't stay mad and giggled.

Soon, we arrived to my house and said goodbye to each other. Mom greeted me with a hug and I couldn't help but return it. "Oh my baby. How was it?" She asked excitedly. I wanted to tell her everything, but refrained from doing so. (She would probably have a heart attack). "Um, it was amazing! Got to see a lot of cool things." I told her, well it wasn't a complete lie.

Mom smiled and lead me inside the house. But when she closed the door, a sad look crossed her face. I was about to ask her what was wrong, but then look and found that there were a lot of boxes, "Mom. Why are there boxes all over?" I asked. Mom bend down and grab my shoulders, "(Y/N), you know I would never want to hurt you. But while you were away, I was given a huge promotion and now-" She paused.

I had a feeling of what she was going to say and prayed to be wrong. "Well, we're moving." She finish. I didn't know what to think. Bellwood has been my home ever since I could walk, it was where I belong. And also where I meant and became friends with Ben. Where I would have (F/F) smoothies and tease Ben about his distaste to the beverage.

I wanted to protest, scream, anything to have Mom stay here. But knew it was pointless. A soft hand lifted my chin to look into my mom's (E/C) eyes, "I'm sorry Sweetie. I wish it didn't have to be like this." She wraps her arms around my shoulders. I look down at my (S/C) hands and see a faint scar on one of them. I gained it in a fight, one of many I had been in while on vacation with the Tennysons.

"I already packed your stuff. So you wouldn't have to deal with the stress. How about I make you your favorite dish? A goodbye meal, yeah?" Mom said, trying to lighten the mood. I saw she was struggling to hold in tears and realized that she was hurting just as much as me. So, I nodded my head and Mom gave me a kiss on my forehead and got up to make dinner.

I went up to my room and once I closed the door, tears slid down my face. I had stayed strong for Mom's sake, but now that I was alone I collapsed on my knees, "This can't be happening after-. After all that has happened! How do I- What do I- What about-," I stumbled. I squeezed my eyes shut wanting this all to be a bad dream. But when I opened them again, a soft (F/C) glow was emitted from my body and my hair started to float. I freaked out at the sight but then try to calm myself. Once I did the glow disappeared and my (H/C) hair stopped floating.

This has never happen before, "What the what?" I whispered to myself. It was different from Gwen's magic, but do I even have magic? Mom called me down and I wondered if I should tell her or not. In the end, I figured what with the move and not wanting to worry my mother, this whole 'glow' would be my little secret.

The moving truck arrived the next day and it was the hardest day in my life. I wanted to ask Mom to stop by Ben's place, but in the end decided not to. It was probably going to haunt me, but what with the revelation of my new powers and moving away, it was all too much.

I looked out the window, lost in my thoughts until Mom spoke, "Now, think of this as a new beginning. Who knows you might discover more about yourself." She said. I looked at the rear view mirror, seeing my eyes glow for a second then revert back, "You have no idea." I muttered. Luckily, Mom didn't hearing me.
