chapter9: Spring Broken
Intro:
No One POV:
Blitzwolfer paused, lifting his nose to the air as a familiar scent caught his attention.
Blitzwolfer: "What?! I can smell something familiar, like from the overworld"
Blitzwolfer looked around, his muzzle twitching in response to the familiar aroma of grass and the metallic scent of blood, until he came to a halt upon noticing a black and dark gray building with black and white horns.
Blitzwolfer: "Hmm, it's coming from that building with horns. Better check it out"
Determined, he leaped from one building to another, his powerful legs propelling him swiftly through the air. He landed on the seventh floor of the designated building. With a swift motion, he broke inside, the sound of shattered glass echoing in the empty hallway. Blitzwolfer began his search, his heightened senses on high alert as he navigated the office room.
Blitzwolfer growled as he found himself inside a meeting room. He walked around, inspecting under the chairs, behind the water dispenser, and beneath a small CRT TV on a metallic stand in the corner.
After examining every nook and cranny, Blitzwolfer paused to reconsider, leaning against a wall with a big scowl. He already disliked the idea of breaking into someone's building, and he didn't know how much time he had before the owner or someone else noticed his presence.
Blitzwolfer: "There's nothing here, hmm..."
But the familiar scent still lingered in his nose, growing stronger. Blitzwolfer hesitated, freezing in place as a door shook, the sound of people arguing behind it.
His eyes darted around the room, searching for a hiding place big enough for him. Finding none, and with the door creaking open, he involuntarily slammed the watch without an alien in mind, enveloping himself in a bright green light.
Blitzwolfer's body was enveloped by a white protective skin, shrinking him inside and turning his form more humanoid. Inside the cocoon, two greenish-white hands with three claws each emerged, shredding the skin around his head to reveal a curved head with black stripes and a small purple eye. The remaining skin fell away, revealing his gaseous, slim body with black stripes and an elongated tail in place of his legs.
Suddenly, green chains erupted from behind him, wrapping tightly around his front, neck, and waist, and connecting at the center.
The alien squirmed, gripping the chains and trying to pry them away, but they didn't budge. Two cuffs then closed around his hands and shoulders, making him stop. His purple eye turned green, the Omnitrix faceplate appearing on his chest, connected to the chains, as he transformed into...
GhostFreak: "GhostFreak..."
GhostFreak whispered in an eerie tone before his body became invisible to the naked eye.
As the door opened completely, three imps and a female hellhound entered. GhostFreak watched as one of the imps walked through him, shivering as he passed to the other side. The imp glanced back, puzzled, and still shivering.
Moxxie: "Did it get cold, or is it just me?"
The taller imp, seated at the head of the table, glared at him.
Blitz: "Would you stop imagining shit and come over so we can discuss what the fuck we're going to do?!"
Moxxie rolled his eyes, walked to the table, and took a seat beside the female imp.
GhostFreak initially intended to fly away but was intrigued to see what they would discuss. Instead, he flew to one of the empty chairs and sat down, remaining unnoticed due to his invisibility.
Blitz flashed a wide grin as he surveyed the group, then slammed his hands on the table, shouting with exaggerated enthusiasm.
Blitz: "Alright, shut your assholes! Here’s how we’re going to handle this shit!"
GhostFreak listened intently, curious about what this boss would reveal, but he was unprepared for what was coming next.
Blitz leaned in, eyes gleaming with manic excitement, and gestured animatedly as he laid out the plan.
Blitz: "First, we find a fuck ton of clients. We portal up, have our fun murder time as per usual. Then we pile all the bodies into a big bucket canoe. We push said canoe into some water, light it on fire to attract the sharks and eagles, and eat this shit. Maybe a goose too- fuck it, if they come, they come. They’ll eat the bodies, we win the bet, and we rub it in that sloppy bitch's drunken whore ass face. Do you have any questions?"
He leaned back, crossing his arms with a smug expression, clearly pleased with his plan.
GhostFreak, lacking any visible facial features, displayed a blank expression that conveyed perplexity, confusion, and horror at what Blitz had just outlined.
GhostFreak: "What the fuck?"
Unaware that he had spoken aloud, GhostFreak's exclamation caught everyone off guard. The others glanced around in confusion, searching for the source of the voice. Even Loona, who had been distracted, turned her head in surprise at the unexpected interruption.
Blitz raised an eyebrow, acknowledging the interruption with a smirk.
Blitz: "Well, that was weird"
He clapped his hands together, drawing everyone's attention back to him.
Blitz: "Anyway, what do you think?"
The room fell silent for a moment. Moxxie was the first to break the silence, his expression blank.
Moxxie: "Uh, why was that nonsense?"
Blitz frowned, clearly unimpressed.
Blitz: "That wasn't a question"
Moxxie: "That wasn’t a plan. I’m sorry"
With renewed composure, GhostFreak began dissecting Blitz’s ramblings. He noted the contradictory elements—Blitz spoke of killing humans while they were stuck in hell, then mentioned some sort of portal. GhostFreak considered attributing it to Blitz’s apparent mental instability, but the notion of holding a whole meeting for what seemed like the incoherent babblings of a lunatic was unsettling, even by hell’s standards.
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, then glanced over to see Blitz moving toward Moxxie and putting a hand around his shoulder. GhostFreak decided to remain where he was, waiting to see where this chaotic plan would lead. Perhaps he could gather clues that might help him find a way back home.
Blitz grinned, his tone mocking.
Blitz: "But that was a flawless presentation of what we should do, Mox. It’s not my fault you’ve got a smooth little brain upstairs"
He tapped Moxxie on the head, prompting Moxxie to swat his hand away and cross his arms with a frown.
Moxxie: "Oh, what now?"
Blitz: "I’m calling you slow, Moxxie. God, why don’t you learn to take criticism, you talentless baby-dick troll?"
Moxxie pointed at Blitz, his anger rising.
Moxxie: "Well, why don’t you take an art class?"
Blitz snapped back in anger.
Blitz: "Why don’t you see how EXPENSIVE they are?"
Loona glanced up from her phone, a small smirk tugging at her lips.
Loona: "Hey, is there a way I can come with you guys this time?"
Blitz's brow furrowed as he crossed his arms in disagreement.
Blitz: "Absolutely not. I forbid it. It’s not gonna happen, sorry sweetie. Spring break is no place for young, vulnerable goth girls. You know the kind of freaks up there who drool all over you"
Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona all glared forward at the reader, their expressions a mix of annoyance and disapproval. GhostFreak was momentarily confused, seeing them all staring at a wall, but he followed their gaze nonetheless, unaware that he was also staring at the reader.
Loona: "Well, I can blend in with humans easily enough. Just let me tag along"
Blitz's interest piqued, and he leaned forward.
Blitz: "Wait, say that again?"
Loona: "I can blend in"
Millie: "Do you have a human disguise?"
Loona: "Yeah, don't you"
The three imps exchanged nervous glances, while GhostFreak remained puzzled by the idea of why demons needed human disguises.
Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie: "........"
Loona, visibly exasperated, spoke up.
Loona: "You three have been screwing around on Earth this whole fucking time without human disguises?!"
Blitz quickly adapted, clapping his hands together with a new idea. He scribbled something on a piece of paper and proudly held it up on the trestle, pointing at it with enthusiasm.
GhostFreak glared at the paper, which displayed a poorly drawn Loona with three stick figures and hearts scattered around them.
Blitz: "Okay, new plan. Looney can help lure the humans to us, and we’ll take care of the rest. How about that?"
GhostFreak facepalmed, exasperated.
GhostFreak: "For a bunch of bad guys, you sure are comically dumb"
Blitz’s expression darkened, and he clenched his fists in irritation.
Blitz: "Alright, who the fuck said that?!?"
Blitz glared around frantically, searching for the source of the voice, but received no response. Meanwhile, Millie nodded in agreement.
Millie: "Flawless logic"
Moxxie, with a serious expression, spoke up.
Moxxie: "I think you’re missing the biggest issue, sir. Isn’t it crucial to have a client who demands enough kills to win this bet? We aren’t just going up there to massacre"
Blitz waved off the concern with a confident smirk.
Blitz: "I got that covered Mox, follow me"
Blitz gestured toward the door while strolling over with a stack of flyers in hand. Moxxie sighed, rising from his seat, with Millie and Loona following him. GhostFreak floated over, phasing through the table to trail behind them as they headed outside.
Outside, GhostFreak flew and twirled around a pole before coming to a stop to spy on them. Below, Blitz slammed his hand on the pole, revealing a torn flyer that read 'Spring Break Victim: 50% Off?!?!', featuring a poorly drawn image of Blitz, a dead person, and horses.Blitz nodded proudly at the flyer, then stopped beside Moxxie.
Blitz: "Now we wait"
Moxxie looked at the flyer with a skeptical expression.
Moxxie: "Sir, with all due respect, there’s no way we’re going to get enough clients by the end of the day with one, horribly misspelled flyer full of bad grammar"
Suddenly, the ground began to tremble. GhostFreak's eyes widened as he saw a group of demons advancing towards the pole, forming a line in front of the flyer.
Blitz shot a smug glance at Moxxie. Moxxie, arms crossed and expression unimpressed, turned away with a dismissive scoff.
Blitz: "Alright, who’s up first?"
Time Skip:
GhostFreak observed as Loona held a peculiar blue book, her eyes briefly glowing. She made a circular motion with her arm, conjuring a portal. One by one, the others stepped through it.
Intrigued, GhostFreak hovered closer to examine the portal. As it began to shrink, he quickly followed, slipping through before it closed completely.
GhostFreak’s vision was blurry for a moment as he emerged from the portal. Shaking his head, he found himself on a beach on Earth. He glanced around frantically, stunned by the sight of people playing in the water, lounging on the sand, and generally enjoying their lives.
If he could, he would have broken into a wide, toothy grin. He could hardly believe it- Earth! He was finally back from Hell. Without hesitation, he activated the Omnitrix, enveloping himself in green light and detransforming back into Ben.
He knelt down, placing his hand in the sand and lifting it up, marveling as the grains slipped through the cracks between his fingers and fell to the ground.
Ben: "It’s real—I-I... I’m home"
Ben stood up, taking a deep breath and filling his lungs with the refreshing salty air. He barely stifled a laugh, opting instead for a cheeky smile.
Ben: "Much better"
As he took in his surroundings, Ben was a bit surprised. Despite being out in the open, no one approached him for a photo or autograph. People merely glanced his way before continuing with their day.
Ben: "Weird"
His cheeky smile faded into a look of suspicion. He lifted his hand, the Omnitrix glowing faintly as he commanded.
Ben: "Omnitrix, call Grandpa’s number"
Ben’s heart pounded as he waited for the Omnitrix to process his command. His thoughts swirled with anxious possibilities, and he swallowed hard, desperately hoping that his fears were unfounded—that perhaps people were just disinterested in speaking with the savior of the universe.
After what felt like an eternity, the Omnitrix finally chimed in with its familiar monotone voice.
"This number is unavailable"
Ben’s brow furrowed as he gave the surroundings a wary glance before returning his attention to the Omnitrix, tapping it as if he’d misheard.
Ben: "Wait, what do you mean 'unavailable' in this universe?"
He tapped the Omnitrix again, his frustration growing.
Ben: "Stop fooling around. Isn't this my universe?"
The Omnitrix responded with its monotone voice.
"This is not Ben's prime universe"
Ben's eyes widened in shock, and he took a step back, his mind racing to process the revelation.
Ben: "Wait, what? This isn’t my universe?"
He looked around in disbelief, struggling to grasp the situation. The bustling beach, the lack of recognition, and the Omnitrix’s message all seemed to collide into a disorienting reality. He clenched his fists, trying to steady his breathing, his sense of urgency escalating.
Ben: "So, where the hell am I then? And how do I get back?"
Ben's thoughts spun as he tried to figure out his next move, his earlier relief replaced by a gnawing worry.
Ben’s initial worry quickly gave way to a searing anger. As the realization sunk in that this wasn’t his universe, a familiar surge of hatred took hold. The mental image of Vilgax appeared in his mind, fueling his rage and making his heart pound faster. His vision swam with fury as he snapped his head upward, his face contorted in a snarl.
Ben: "VILGAX!!!"
His scream erupted with raw intensity, drawing puzzled glances from those around him. Some looked on with annoyance, while others wore worried expressions, unable to understand the source of his outburst.
Meanwhile, under a dock, the imps and Loona hid among coral-covered rocks. Blitz looked around with a scowl.
Blitz: "Who the fuck got his balls in a bag of nails to scream like that?!?"
Millie and Moxxie shrugged as the screaming ceased. Blitz glanced back at the scattered people on the beach, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
Blitz: "Now remember, we can’t be seen, alright? Loose shots will likely cause panic, so Loona can help lead the targets to a better spot to off 'em"
He ran his thumb across his neck to emphasize his point before turning to Loona.
Blitz: "You got the list, Looney?"
Loona grabbed a long list, unraveling it until it rolled down to the ground. She sniffed it before turning to Blitz.
Loona: "Got it"
Loona stood up, casting a spell to transform her werewolf form into a human. A blue aura enveloped her body, gradually altering her appearance until she emerged in her human form.
Out of the light stepped a goth girl with a side cut, wearing the same clothes as her demon form.
The imps stared at her in a mix of shock and amazement.
Blitz: "Looney, look at you. You look downright awful!"
Blitz’s voice softened, a small tear of joy escaping his eye, which he quickly wiped away.
Blitz: "I am so proud"
He then pointed forward from behind the rock.
Blitz: "Now fetch"
Loona peered forward, her red eyes focusing on the crowd ahead until certain people were outlined in red, marking them as targets. A slight smirk played on her lips as she strolled toward her first target, a muscular guy with sunglasses.
As she approached, he turned toward her, and she pointed at him with slanted eyes, then motioned to herself, and finally indicated an alleyway away from the crowds.
The guy, giving her a flirty look, nodded and followed her. Once inside the alley, she leaned against a wall, looking unimpressed as he reached out to touch her.
On a rooftop, Blitz peered through the scope of his rifle, taking careful aim at the unsuspecting target. With a steady exhale, he squeezed the trigger.
The bullet rocketed from the barrel, cutting through the air. It bit into the man's cranium, shattering the thin layer of bone and pulverizing the delicate gray matter hidden beneath.
An explosion of crimson mist and pulpy brain tissue followed, a blend of organic material painting the grim surroundings. The man's body quickly crumbled to the filthy concrete.
Blitz then lowered his rifle, exchanging a glance with Loona before giving her a thumbs-up to signal the successful kill.
Afterward, Loona leaned against the wall in front of the alleyway, looking bored with a noose dangling in front of her. A blonde man ran toward her, arms outstretched. Just as he got close, the noose tightened around his neck. He struggled, his face contorting in panic, as Blitz suddenly leaped down from the roof, using the momentum to hoist the man off his feet. Blitz landed smoothly beside Loona, giving her another thumbs-up.
Meanwhile, the man was dangling, swaying his feet as he fought to talk, and every breath seemed like torment. As seconds ticked by, the oxygen supply dwindled, replaced by an overwhelming sensation of compression. The man's lungs strained against the lack of air, fighting for precious oxygen. His face flushed, then paled as blood vessels ruptured under the increasing strain, until his head collapsed limp, eyes wide open, immortalizing his terrified face.
In another scene, Loona sat on the edge of a rooftop, arms crossed, wearing the same bored expression as before. A blonde guy with yellow glasses sat across from her, stealing nervous glances.
Yellow Glasses Dude: "Sorry if I seem a little nervous. This is my first time with a beautiful girl like you..."
Loona rolled her eyes.
Loona: "Yeah, whatever. Just get it over with"
The man chuckled awkwardly at Loona's disinterested response. He stepped closer, his cheeks flushing as he leaned in to kiss her.
Suddenly, Millie leaped out of nowhere. The man's eyes widened in a mix of surprise and fear as she delivered a brutal kick to his head. He flailed his arms, tipping over and crashing to the ground. The last thing he saw was Millie grinning and giving Loona a thumbs-up before everything went dark.
Instead of the man's body hitting the pavement and exploding into a spray of blood, bone, and viscera, Moxxie, who was waiting in an alleyway, quickly opened a dumpster lid. The body fell inside, crashing to the bottom with a loud crack as his internal organs splattered, mixing with the crushed skeleton and liquified flesh. Moxxie swiftly closed the lid, wiping his hands with a satisfied smirk.
Outside of the alleyway, Loona was walking down the sidewalk with a fat man beside her, humming happily. Suddenly, a flower pot came hurtling down, crashing onto his head. The impact caused his skull to crack at the coronal suture, bruising the area around it and causing blood to drip down rapidly. The man felt a sharp pain in his head, his vision blurring before he collapsed, dead.
In another scene, a woman in a pink shirt and ponytail was admiring the beach, oblivious to Blitz creeping up behind her. His grin grew wider as his knife got closer to her head. With a swift, brutal motion, he shoved the knife down. It sliced through her skin, cutting deep and breaking the top of her skull like an eggshell. Blood and brain matter splattered as the knife dived deep and emerged from the bottom of her jaw.
A woman with short white hair, wearing sunglasses and a sun hat, sipped on her juice, oblivious to the danger behind her. Millie, shaking her bat with nails protruding from it, leaped up and swung it with force at the back of the woman's head.
The bat connected with the woman's skull with a bone-shattering impact. The force of the strike propelled her forward, her glasses fracturing from the brutal trauma. Blood bubbled from her scalp, trickling down her neck and staining her dress crimson.
She collapsed, slipping into unconsciousness before succumbing to death.
Another woman was engaged in conversation with a man before he waved goodbye and walked away. As she watched him through her sunglasses, her gaze lingered. Turning back, she spotted Moxxie from afar, pointing his gun at her from behind a bush. The gun's gleam under the sun betrayed his position.
She turned to run, but Moxxie had already squeezed the trigger. The gunshot echoed as the bullet tore through the back of her skull, exiting through her eye with a burst of blood and brain matter. She collapsed, lifeless, before she could make it more than a few steps.
Time Skip:
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Blitz and his team gathered the lifeless bodies, shoving them into large trash bags. The more mangled corpses oozed with blood and emitted a stench of decay, staining the outside of the bags. Millie bounced on top of one trash bag, struggling to fit the fat man inside, her efforts compressing the bloated, bloodied remains.
Blitz tightened a red rope around the neck of one trash bag, sealing it shut before letting it roll down. He rubbed his hands together with a proud smirk.
Blitz: "That's nine kills in the bag! I can't wait to see that whiny bitch try to top that number-"
Verosika strutted onto the stage,
emerging dramatically from the
smoke, her presence commanding instant attention.
Verosika: "Alright, spring breakers! Are y'all ready to get fucked up and make some BITCHIN' bad choices?!"
The crowd erupted in cheers as
Verosika launched into her
performance. One fan ripped his
shirt open, revealing Verosika's
name scrawled across his chest.
Fan: "Verosika!"
Verosika: "This is your final boarding call. All aboard!"
She shouted into the mic with a
seductive tone, scanning the sea of adoring fans. Her eyes briefly
caught sight of Ben sitting on a
nearby bench, clutching his head in his hands.
She registered his presence with a flicker of confusion before turning her focus back to the roaring crowd.
The atmosphere crackled with energy as Verosika gave a flirtatious wave to the crowd. The two giant screens flanking the stage flickered to life, displaying the bold, provocative message: "FUCK YOU, BLITZO"
(Stop at 0:47 or continue if you want; nobody is stopping you)
Blitz tugged on his horns in frustration, glaring at the chaos unfolding ahead.
Blitz: "DAMNIT! That bitch has started her mating call! Now she’s going to steal all these horny maniacs! We need to up our game, guys!"
A man with long blonde hair dropped to his knees beside Blitz, clutching his stomach. His eyes widened in distress before he vomited, collapsing face-first into the mess.
Blitz grimaced at the scene, pointing at the man with a scowl.
Blitz: "He on the list, Looney?"
Loona's gaze was fixed on the chaotic party, focusing on Vortex, worry etched on her face, barely noticing Blitz.
Loona: "Huh? Yeah, I think he’s on the list"
The man groaned, clutching his head, and squinted up at Blitz with a drunken haze.
Guy: "Whoa, are you some kind of leprechaun?"
Blitz nodded with a grin, lifting a black and red axe. He ran a finger along its edge, savoring the sharpness with a touch of amusement, clearly entertained by the slobberknockered words
Blitz: "Oh yeah pretty cool, huh?"
With a sudden lunge, Blitz swung his axe, cleaving through the man skull with ease. The sharpened edge of the axe sliced through flesh and bone, bisecting facial features and exposing brains in an instant.
The drunk guy, mutilated beyond recognition, toppled over, hitting the ground with a resounding thud. Blood poured from the decimated cranium, a fountain of crimson spewing from the gaping wound. His torn head sat on the sand, staring blankly, an eyeless, featureless gaze
Blitz: "But you sure as shit ain’t gonna tell anyone! Alright, next one, Loony, c’mon! Loony!?"
Blitz’s eyes darted around in a panic as he found Loona nowhere in sight. His frustration turned to desperation, and he shouted with mounting anguish.
Blitz: "WHERE’S MY BABYYYYY?"
Millie quickly pointed forward.
Millie: "Over there!"
Blitz’s gaze followed Millie’s direction, landing on Loona approaching Vortex, who was in his human disguise. He stood with his arms crossed, scanning the crowd intensely while keeping a watch over the stage.
