Chapter Four

Kaldur was confused.

Could certain feelings just disappear? For that is exactly what had happened to him. He was so used to the tingling sensation in his stomach area when he had Tula made eye contact, but he no longer felt that. No, not since the new girl - Percy - had come along. Well, the feeling hasn't completely disappeared. It had slightly changed and now it had switched interests. No longer did stiles blue eyes ignite it, no, now the sea green eyes of Percy did. Her dark hair which fell past her shoulders in waves. Her tan skin which seemed to glow in the ocean light.

The feeling had multiplied and the one feeling he once had for Tula was dull compared to this new one. He didn't understand it, but he finally saw how Tula looked at Garth and how he looked at Tula.

He felt stupid for not realizing sooner that there never would've been anything between him and Tula, but he didn't have any bad feelings. No, right now all his feeling circled around a certain sea-eyes girl.

"Hey Kaldur," Percy said casually as she sat down beside him and set her lunch tray down. Kaldur hadn't touched his food yet, too lost in thought. Percy dug into her food and she was so glad that this school had so much better food than her last schools. School lunches were horrible, but here they were pretty good. Percy wasn't too surprised when she found out that the school had some traditional subjects as well. It was a school after all, not some type of club. It was a lot of work, catching up on all that the others had already learnt while she was still in a mortal school. But somehow she found herself enjoying it. Maybe it was because she wasn't repeating things she already knew, no, now she was learning new things!

"Sup Perce!" Garth exclaimed and sat down beside her. Kaldur felt jealousy twist in his stomach. But Garth liked Tula, right? He sure hoped so. He didn't want to lose her to Garth, but maybe that would happen. Garth has his charms, and what did he have? He was just Kaldur.

"Hey Garth," Percy responded. Her sea green eyes swirled, the colors mixing like a dangerous sea storm. Her eyes were gorgeous, and that was a fact. Just like the fact that he had totally and utterly fallen for her.

——

After history Percy decided to approach Garth and start her small plan. Well, it wasn't exactly small. Nothing with her was ever small and she had to admit it, she was overdramatized. Hades, her fathers side of the family were the most dramatic people she knew. She must've gotten it from them.

"So, Garth," she started as she walked up to him.

He turned towards her. "Yeah."

"So, you and Tula?" She asked. "Somethin' between you two?"

Garth laughed, but it wasn't one of his normal laughs. No, this one was bitter. A laugh of wishes that seemed impossible or one of roads not chosen.

"I wish."

Those were the only words she needed to hear to make all of this happen. Now she was one hundred percent sure that they, well, liked each other. Even thought it had been so painfully obvious. How they didn't realize, she had no clue. But then again, she was no master at understanding. More of a master of confusion.

Annabeth was the one who understood, but now she wasn't here. Now she had no one to help her understand. She was confused without her. Tears stung her eyes. Thoughts had never really brought her to tears before, but now it seemed like that could all to easily.

"Excuse me," Percy said and rushed away from Garth. His expression shifted, and now he was the confused one.

"Wait, Perce? What's wrong?" He yelled and ran after her and thank the gods Kaldur didn't see that. Well, that would've lead to a whole other level of confusion and misunderstandings.

But when Garth finally found her she was being comforted by Kaldur so he decided to leave them to it.

Kaldur jumped to all sorts of conclusions when he saw Percy running into the school yard, tears escaping from her eyes. He face was red, and her green eyes were like a hurricane about to unleash its power on an unsuspecting city. But he didn't think she was angry or mad. No, she looked... vulnerable.

Kaldur ran after her as he felt a sudden need to comfort her - but maybe that's what love was.

"Percy?" He called after her. After hearing his calming voice she came to a stop and turned around and started him in his gray-green eyes.

"Percy? What's wrong?" Kaldur asked. The tears had stopped flowing down, but her eyes were shining with tears.

"I-," She started, but paused. "I miss her."

Then the tears fell like a waterfall. She crumbled to the floor and Kaldur rushed to her side. He didn't really know what to say. He wrapped his arms around her and let her cry into his shoulder.

He tired his best to be comforting, but he hadn't been in a lot of situations like these before.

Percy just repeating the same sentence over and over again, and Kaldur started to wonder who she was talking about. But it was still the same phrase over and over again.

I miss her
