As weeks go by Meachum puts together a team of the finest men and women working under him to assist him in the expedition. As the expedition begins, Meachum along with his entire scientific team discloses to Angela the entire operation that they are about to undergo. Unbeknownst to all the mercenaries onboard the expedition incognito posing as crew members and media members. Meachum discloses Operation Resurrection, a scientific collaboration between Russia and Germany that dates back to the early days of World War II which was intended to turn the tides of war. On the very insistence of Heinrich Himmler, the second in command of Hitler himself the operation was initiated to boost his morality of Hitler and feed the masses the aura and reverence of their messiah's capitalization of Germans' descent from the masterful Aryan race. Handpicked by Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin themselves only a few brilliant minds of both nations were selected to participate in the operation. Meachum further reveals that the team was recruited to achieve a breakthrough in the field of regeneration and endurance of soldiers on the battlefield to improve the soldiers instead of only armaments. The project was initially unsuccessful after numerous failures it finally succeeded owing to the contribution of the team's lead scientist Joachim Fischer. They had been able to develop a serum dubbed Mutagen Z which was found to have severe regenerative capabilities and endurance-boosting effects. Reportedly a few weeks back, a group of divers had found the remains of a sunken WWII U-Boat near the supposed last known location of the incident which was leaking a strange dark fluorescent liquid into the surroundings. After detailed forensic analysis, it was found that the liquid exacerbated the growth of flora and fauna in the immediate environment thus proving its efficacy and prospective benefits for a plethora of medical applications.
