Since I can't concentrate on any of my other stories at the moment, I'll continue here for now. 

Zhan had said to Lana in the evening, when she asked him if he had now no longer a problem to work under Yibo, that he wanted to make the best of the situation, as long as he has no new job. He would concentrate fully on his work and try to avoid Yibo as much as possible.

In the morning, Zhan did not go directly to the office, but to his first appointment at one of the two corporations. He sat in a room with the 10 board members and explained the new all-around insurance package he could offer them for their group. They were all thrilled. They were all excited about the new all-round insurance package that he was able to offer them for their group, simply because they no longer had to sign many individual insurance contracts, but instead received a complete package that was also somewhat cheaper than the previous insurance policies.

So Zhan was able to sell them not only the total package, but even individual insurance policies to different board members. This appointment was more than worthwhile for Zhan. Since the board members know Zhan well by now, as he comes to see them at least every 6 months, they even promised him this time to give his contact details to the employees in their group in case any of them need one or more insurance policies.

Maybe they like Zhan so much because this board of directors are mostly women. Zhan is not conceited or arrogant, but knows that his good looks are one reason he has been able to sell so many insurance policies. In addition, when he was interviewed at the insurance agency, they told him that without experience and proper training, they were only hiring him there because he looked good and trustworthy and therefore he could sell insurance more easily.

Zhan found this very pretentious and had tried harder just to prove to them that he was more than just good looking.

Before entering the building of the second group he had an appointment with today, he emailed the documents to his office so that Yibo could already review them. Then he went into the building, signed in at the reception desk, and waited to be picked up and taken to the board of directors of that corporation.

Just a few minutes later someone came and had a big smile on his face. "Oh wow you are Xiao Zhan." He said as they entered the private elevator.

"Um yeah, I am." Replied Zhan.

"Do you know me?"

"Um, not that I know." Said Zhan. The man held out his employee ID card to him and grinned.

"I'm Wang Hai Kuan. Your ex-boyfriend's big brother."

"Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about."

"My little brother is Wang Yibo. Do you understand what I'm talking about now?"

"I merely went to school with Wang Yibo. But that's all."

"Oh, well, if you say so. I remember it differently. But, if you say you've never been together, then it shouldn't be a problem if I ask you out on a date, right?"

"What?" Zhan looked at him in shock, wondering what kind of sleazy guy Yibo's big brother was. And how did he even know that he and Yibo were a couple? After all, they had always been careful not to let anyone in their families know or overhear.

"Well, I'd like to get to know you better, and to do that, I'd like to take you on a date. You're just my type and it would be great if you gave me a chance."

"I really think there's a misunderstanding here."

"I don't think so. If you don't want to admit to having been with my brother, okay. But still, I know exactly who you are and would be very happy if you went on a date with me."

"As I said before, I think there is a misunderstanding here. Besides, I am happily married to my wife Lana." Replied Zhan, glad that the elevator finally came to a stop. He almost rushed outside when the doors opened.

Before entering the conference room, he texted Yibo from his work cell phone. "I'll kill you when I get back!" Then he set the cell phone to silent and entered the room.

Unfortunately for him, the sleazy guy, or rather Yibo's brother, was sitting at the head of the table. Zhan would have liked to turn around and leave. But he behaved professionally and also presented his new, more favorable total package to this board.

The board of this corporation, here there were 12 people and Wang Hai Kuan, were also excited about the new offer and voted to buy this new insurance package. Again, Zhan also took out a few additional individual insurance policies. As a result, today, he had sold two large total packages and 11 individual insurance policies.

Zhan was about to leave after the nearly 3 hour appointment when Wang Hai Kuan got in his way and told him he wanted to at least have a coffee with Zhan in the in-house cafeteria. "I actually have to go back to the office right now."

"No, you don't. I know your supervisor and can still give you some space." Replied Wang Hai Kuan.

"What's the point? I told you earlier that this must be a misunderstanding and that I'm married."

"And I know your marriage is just a fake." He stroked Zhan's cheek and continued, "I know your wife. Maybe you should tell her to be less open about the fact that your marriage is just a façade, so no one will realize who you really are."

"What, my wife would..."

"Say nothing? That's where you're wrong. She's dating one of my co-workers and I've been seeing her with her a lot lately. Recently they were both at a gay and lesbian bar kissing. So she doesn't have to say anything. It was enough to see them. And you don't have to lie about my little brother either. I know that about you two."

"Even if that's the case..."

"Well, let me finish speaking first Zhan. You know, I thought you were cute back then. But now, now you just look like insane, super cute and handsome at the same time. How about you go on a date with me and no one finds out that your marriage is just a façade? No, I don't want to blackmail you with that. I just want a chance from you. And believe me, you'll see that I'm a lot different than you might think right now."

"I..."

"Oh, and Zhan, I should probably mention that I know your in-laws well."

"That's definitely blackmail!"

"No, just a hint of what I know and who all I know."

"If I agree to go on a date, will you leave my wife and me, and my in-laws alone?"

"Of course. And I promise you, this date will be so great that you'll want a second date all by yourself."

"I doubt it. When?"

"How about tomorrow night? I'll pick you up from work."

"All right. But I warn you, not a word to anyone about my wife and me."

"And what about you and Yibo?"

"What about us? He's my department head and I know him from school, that's all."

"Okay, if you say so. See you tomorrow night then." Replied Wang Hai Kuan with a smirk.

Zhan felt really sick. Now he couldn't even blame Yibo for telling his brother about their past together, because then he would also have to tell about being forced to go out with his brother so no one would know that Zhan and Lana's marriage wasn't real. And Zhan doesn't want Yibo to know about it most of all.

So when he reached the office, he knocked on Yibo's door and said, "I'm back. And about the message earlier, that was an accident and it wasn't supposed to reach you. I have already sent you the other documents from the second group. If you give your okay, I'll take care of the documents so I can send them to the concerns."

"Who was supposed to get this message?" Yibo asked.

"Oh nobody. As I said, it was an accident. I'll go to my workplace then."

"Have you eaten yet?"

"No. But I'm not hungry either."

"I told you yesterday not to skip meals."

"I know. But if I eat anything now, I'm guaranteed to throw up. So I'll get back to work then."

"Zhan wait. What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"No, everything's fine."

"Don't try to lie to me."

"Everything is fine sir. I just want to do my job."

"Zhan..."

"I don't want to talk now okay? See you later." Replied Zhan, already almost running out of Yibo's office. He would have loved to yell at Yibo and ask how it is possible that his brother knows about them. And most of all, he would now want to yell at Lana for being so careless, and apparently slowly making the rounds that their marriage is nothing but a show.

Zhan sat thoughtfully at his desk, trying to think of something to get rid of Hai Kuan. Because he was afraid that just having one date with Zhan won't be enough for Yibo's big brother and that's why he might try to keep blackmailing Zhan. Somehow, Zhan had to find something to prevent this from happening. But what?

Yu Bin, who was on outside appointments all day yesterday, could see from Zhan's face that something was bothering him and asked him straight out what was going on. Zhan needed to talk to someone about it and told Yu Bin everything. The latter was completely shocked by what Zhan told him. "You have to tell Yibo."

"I can't. Then I also have to tell him why Lana and I are married. And I don't want to do that."

"I can understand you. But you can't keep this to yourself. At least confront Yibo and ask him how his brother knows about you two."

"I can't. Then I'd have to explain to him what happened. I know him well enough to know he won't give it a rest."

"Hey, you two shouldn't be chatting but working." Shouted He Peng from his desk.

"Shut the fuck up He Peng." Shouted Zhan back.

"That's enough, I'm going to report this." Yelled He Peng in reply.

"Go ahead you miserable rat. You can't do anything else anyway." Shouted Yu Bin.

Zhan looked at his watch. "We'll be off in five minutes. Before I go home, do you want to go out for coffee?"

"Sure. I don't have anything else to do today anyway. My sister is with her boyfriend again. So I have time." Replied Yu Bin.

When it was 5 pm sharp, Zhan and Yu Bin got dressed and hurriedly left the office. They went to the coffee shop across the street from the insurance agency and ordered a latte. Zhan then told him again and calmly what Wang Hai Kuan said.

Yu Bin shook his head, unable to believe it. "I still think you should tell Yibo. I mean you could at least ask him how his brother knows about you and him."

"Sure. But then he'd want to know more. Like I said, I know Yibo and he just questioned everything even back then. And as I mentioned before, he won't rest until he knows everything."

"But you can't let him force you to go on a date with his brother just so he won't tell anyone."

"Right now, I don't have a choice. But I'll talk to Lana later. I wonder who she talked to all about our marriage and if her girlfriend is really trustworthy."

"Do you think her girlfriend passed all that on?"

"I'm assuming so. At least for now. Because Lana wouldn't just go around everywhere telling people about our marriage. Especially because she's always afraid her parents will find out."

"Mhhh, you should talk to her as soon as possible. Who knows who already knows about you guys."

Zhan confirmed it and ordered another latte, as well as a sandwich, now that he feels he can eat after confiding in Yu Bin. The two talked for quite a while before Zhan headed home.
