Chapter 2
Jace's Pov
Finch was 3 now, I was teaching her how to read. As we read the old book, a fierce wind whipped under the bridge that we where living under. Our moth-eaten blanket was barely enough to
cover the both of us. I tucked
Finch under the blanket and
waited for her to fall asleep. I stood up and walked over to a posh house. I was 5. So I was small and nimble, I climbed though the window. I was in a kitchen and the cupboards were full of chocolate brownies, cakes and fruit. I took some and put it in my bag. Next I walked into a little boys room and took a new blanket for Finch. I'd just use the moth-eaten one. The boy had a football shirt. The name James Drippingwood was printed on it. I slashed the shirt into tiny pieces. And then trashed the room. The family must've been on holiday, as this room was empty and no one was stirring in the house. I looked round at my handy work, and smiled. I smashed the window and jumped out. The fact that I was a Hyde gave me a kind of super strength. I climbed up to the roof and ran along it, jumping over to another house. The alarm on the house I trashed went off. I smiled again. And then I jumped off the roof and into the dark street below.
