⚔︎ Winter is Coming - Party All Night ⚔︎
Season 1 - Episode 1
Part Two
I carefully braid my hair back into smaller sections while adding jewelry to my inky locks as I go, having sent the servants away. I hate feeling like I'm being watched or waited on when I'm perfectly fine to dress myself. I twist back another braid, having two large pieces on either side of my head, with a few smaller ones to frame my face. The top is french braided down my back, reaching my waist. I have small jewels that look like snowflakes scattered through my hair and one blue Winter rose, mother's favorite, perched upon my left ear. Though I will pin it to my dress after, or rather if I, can pick one.
Her hair
I smudge some black along my eyes before padding over the cold stone floor to my trunk, to find a dress. "Hmm what to wear? It's too cold for anything I normally wear" I mumble to myself. My hands trace over the light silk dresses and I push them aside to the heavier fabrics with intricate designs. Father only buys the best for us, even if we ask him to save the money for the kingdom or paying back our step-monster and her father. But who am I to complain with all these beautiful gowns?
My hand stops on a dark blue dress that has black around the edges and small silver vines lining them. It's only a few shades darker than the winter rose that is still perched upon my ear. The long sleeves drape to the floor and the neckline twists around like a necklace. The fabric is heavy and soft like velvet, making it very warm. I pull the thick dress over my body and it fits perfectly. The fabric glides onto my body, made for every shape and curve, and feels like a second skin. I sling my black leather scabbard along my waist with my sword, Mortifer, which means bringer of death. My hands grip the familiar leather and my eyes trail up to the mirror, where I no longer see a girl. I see the queen I am to be.
Her dress
Her sword:
A knock on the door breaks me from my thoughts and I pick up the bottom of my dress and pad over to the heavy wooden door. When I open it Sansa and Rhaenys stand nervously, with the latter avoiding eye contact. They both look like gorgeous. Sansa has her long fiery hair loose, with only a single braid tying together her bangs. Shes wearing a long white gown with intricate beading and snowflakes along the bodice. She has a thick grey cloak that has white swirls around the edges and closes around her small frame. Rhaenys has her long icy hair braided back into a crown, showing off her violet eyes; the same violet that her brother has and most likely Rhaegar had as well.
Sansa's dress:
Rhaenys dress is made of the same velvet material as mine but hers is lighter and shows off her shoulders. It has white snowflakes along the top edges and a belt that hangs to the floor glittering. The sleeves hang like mine as well but hers has a second layer of fabric that loops through her fingers and keeps her arms covered. The light blue matches my winter rose perfectly so I tuck it into her hair and pin it, making sure it won't fall out even if she dances. "My brother will love the rose. I do hope we can be friends Rhaenys" I murmur with a smile. She nods her head in agreement "thank you and yes, I would love to be friends."
Rhaenys dress:
"Hello Sansa, you're looking absolutely divine. How are you this evening?" I purr, enjoying the pink stains on Sansa's cheeks. Rhaenys smiles and curtseys just as Sansa does the same. I wave them off and open the door wider "no need for formalities my dears. We are soulmates after all and we will be family soon" I say looking at Rhaenys. "Even if you chose not to be with me, I would never hold that against you. So just call me Rhaenyra or Nyra please" I tell Sansa.
Sansa answers, her eyes shooting to mine "I would never reject you, your- Rhaenyra." Sansa steps closer and takes my hand in hers, as her cheeks flame red "I would love nothing more than to be by your side. Though I would like some time to get to know each other better before any marriage." She shifts nervously from foot to foot but I send her a reassuring smile, then nod in agreement. She sighs in relief and relaxes beside me. "Yes, my father is excited about us finding our soulmates but he will not rush anything. This goes at our pace."
"Well Sansa dear, would you like to escort me to dinner then?" I flirt. Sansa loops her arm through my left and Rhaenys loops hers through the right. I begin to leave my room but stop, looking down to my feet. "Um I do need shoes first... and my crown" I sheepishly state. Both girls let out giggles and the sound of Sansa's laughter fills my heart with fire. I pad over to my trunk and slip on the thick boots, having thrown the heels that Cersei left me in the garbage. Well not garbage, more like Robb's direwolf Greywind. He was very happy to have new chew toys and Rhae couldn't stop laughing at Cersei's face when she found us.
I then grab my smaller crown for tonight, a black metal with intricate designs and various dark, shining rubies. It slides onto my head perfectly but the weight has my neck already screaming to take it off. You would think I would get used to the pain of the crown yet here I am. I turn around to the girls, who both are staring at my crown in awe. "Once we are married Sansa, you may design a crown of your own and have as many as you'd like. Though I would like to discuss a few things before then. Like I would want for you to start sword training if you haven't already and different studies, ones that only royals learn. I want you to rule along side me, not as a decoration or a broodmare. I want us to be equals" I state, watching my girl closely. Rhaenys smiles beside me nodding in encouragement to Sansa.
Her crown
Sansa speaks up, her eyes wide "I have to admit, I am surprised but very happy to hear it. I am more than ready to join your side, whenever that may be. I also have been trained since birth, like all the Starks, to fight and hold our own. Father often had us studying things that most women would never be near but he values our independence and self worth. You know, it's almost as if he knew we were soulmates" she mutters with s smile. I gently take her hand and kiss the back of it with a large grin.
Her face turns red and her large doe eyes meet mine "I truly would be honored to be by your side. I fear I'm not good with a sword still but I excelled in my archery." I lean in and gently press my lips to her soft cheek, leaving her blushing a bright red. "Everyone has their strong suits Lady Sansa. Now tell me, what do I have to look forward to tonight? Any wild Northern games or rituals?" I ask with a crooked smile. Rhaenys flashes a grin and cackles beside me "I knew you would be chaos and I can't wait to see what trouble we can cause together." I let out a loud laugh and sigh "oh just wait till you see Rhae and I together. Now that's chaos!"
I sit at a large wooden table, with Sansa and Rhaenys on either side of me. Rhaegar sits directly across from me with Robb and Aegon on either side of him. Joffrey sits with Cersei and Jaime at the head table, visibly sneering at any northerners. Elia, Ned, and father were sitting there but quickly moved when Cersei sat down. They are now talking loudly at the end of our table, with large smiles and jugs full of ale. Tommen, Arya, Bran, and Rickon sit in between us. They talk animatedly about their favorite games and I can't help but smile.
Myrcella sits by Robb her eyes stuck on Rhaegar, as she's his soulmate too. I sigh at the sight, wishing things were different for them. We've kept it hidden for years but Myrcella was the first soulmate of Rhaegar. Just as Joffrey was mine. But with a marriage pact to Cersei, and the fact that Joffrey is insufferable, we do not acknowledge the bonds. Well, Rhaegar does in secret. Him and Myrcella have a close bond, one that definitely goes past step siblings. But only Father approves, Cersei says it's wrong some we are siblings by law. But that doesn't stop her from fucking her twin brother. I cut my eyes to the Queen consort and snarl my nose up. She has her arms around Joffrey tightly, soothing him from something as usual.
My eyes travel back to Myrcella as she speaks to Robb, Aegon, and Rhaegar, with Rhaenys leaning over the table towards them. The five of them looking cozy. The other twins, Jon and Jocasta our other soulmates, are missing. I scan the large crowd, trying to spot either of the twins but fail. Sansa and Rhaenys talk quietly beside me as I pull at my now too-hot dress. The music is loud while the room smells of ale and sweat. I fan myself for a second as sweat beads down my brow before standing up quickly and almost knocking my chair over. "I will be right back" I blurt at Rhae, before anyone can ask me where I'm going and quickly walk away. As I pass by Dad, I pat his back and pull him into a hug. "Father, I am stepping outside for a second then going to bed. Is there anything you need from me?"
Robert's eyes crinkle up and he smiles broadly at me, his arms still tightly wound around me "no, my little princess. Take leave and try to get to know your soulmates." He nods towards the open door and I spot Jocasta with her brother, both outside in the snow. I kiss his cheek then slowly peel away from his warm embrace and bow to the Stark's. "Thank you for your hospitality and the beautiful celebration." Elia and Ned nod in appreciation at me before going back to the conversation with dad. I feel Cersei and Joffrey's eyes on me as I cross the floor to the door, making me want to send them a vulgar gesture. My boots thud along the stone as I reach the heavy metal door to outside. The metal groans as I slide it open and a harsh cold bites at my face. I discreetly use my magic, making a small bubble of warmth for myself then trek over to the twins.
Jon and Jocasta are training against each other, both in fighting leathers with heavy coats. I watch them intently as their feet glide along the snow and their swords clash like a spark of wildfire. They don't look my way, both focused on their training and I can't help but watch in awe. The way they move almost as if they're dancing with each other but the heavy clashing of metal says otherwise. Eventually Jocasta kicks Jon in the chest and slings her blade to his throat with a smirk. "I win.. again. Maybe you should focus more on our training rather than the pretty princess" she snarks, sending me a predatory smile.
I match her smirk with the turn of my head and pull the long blade from its sheath on my scabbard. Mortifer shines in the torch light, with my magic pulsing through the silver metal and the old runes light up in a dark red. Large spikes branch off the blade and the tips turn a scarlet red. The hilt warms in my hands and I see the two visibly step back, their swords slack in their arms. Jon raises his hands up first "twas only a joke your majesty. My sister did not mean it." He bows his head before dropping to his knee. Jocasta just raises a brow at me "my brother doesn't speak for me. I would love to train with you, Princess."
Her sword with magic:
This will change with her powers
The way she sneers Princess has my blood boiling and my blade now steams with the fire that courses through my veins, just ready to be released. And if Merikh was here, he'd have already roasted the brunette. I tip my head back and raise my sword higher "let's go then." Jon tries to protest but Jocasta pushes him away with glare. Sansa, Rhaenys, Myrcella, Robb, Aegon, and Rhaegar all come out at that time, flocking to us. "Nyra come on, don't kill one of my soulmates before I can even woo her" Rhaegar shouts with a smirk. Jocasta snarls her nose at him and meets my eyes, with nothing but hate in them. I flip him a bird while holding Jocatsa's glare "she challenged me. So whatever happens falls on her shoulders not mine."
Rhaegar tenses but nods, taking his place behind me. Jocasta smirks, twirling her blade in her fingers and mutters "won't be much of challenge." I suppress a sigh and ignore her comment, then roll my shoulders back getting into fighting stance. "Wouldn't you rather change from your pretty dress, I mean can't have the princess dirty" Jocasta sneers. I raise a brow but ignore her pathetic excuse to rile me up. She just shrugs then quickly swings first though I easily block her then shove my sword towards hers, knocking her back.
She snarls at me with a feral look on her face, then charges at me with her sword aimed at my head but I twirl around her. She yells, slinging her sword behind her and missing my head by inches. The bitch is trying to cut my head off! Please don't Nyra. I ignore my twin as the fire builds in my chest and anger takes over me. Jocatsa swings again but I'm quicker. I put my full strength into the swing and Jocasta's sword flings to the ground. She dives for her sword but I sweep my boot under her legs, sending her straight to the snow before I lazily placing my sword to her throat. She narrows her eyes at me, breathing heavy but drops her sword in surrender.
I throw a hand out to help her up but don't sheathe my sword, just in case. My anger and magik still pulses through my veins, intertwining until it's all I feel. Like hot embers smoking in my chest. I don't notice the red and black magic shining through my veins or the way my eyes almost look like flames. As if fire was living and breathing inside me. Jocasta takes her hand in mine and I pull her up. But before I release her I allow my anger to speak, so I draw her ear to my lips and whisper "if you ever try to attack me again, soulmate to my brother or not, I will have your head on a spike."
I push her back harshly and she stumbles back to her brother, her face as white as a sheet. I sheath my sword finally and stomp towards my room. No one says a word, not even at the ground which was just covered in snow but is now burnt to a crisp. Or the large flames that licked my fingers, singeing my dress.
Because it was one thing to see magik and dragons, but it was another to feel the wrath of the Princess of fire and ash.
The Princess that didn't just dance with the flames but licked the ashes of death from the ground.
For she would either rule the world,
Or let it burn
