The new girl bites

Rose's POV
The school was so bright it was almost laughable. The walls either white, yellow, orange or red, so obviously someone couldn't settle on just one colour. It was my first day and I'd already gotten lost once and ended up in the wrong lesson; even after i realised my mistake when my name wasnt called out on the register i made no move to get up to go to the right class. I didn't even want to be here, let alone follow the rules.

Sat in the last class of the day- maths, kill me now seriously I'd rather die again- I doodled on my sketchbook as the annoying rays of the bright sun shined through the windows. Scowling, I tuned out whatever the teacher was babbling about and focused all of my energy on the weather outside. I didnt hate the sun but it gave me a headache and i loved it when it rained, i was already having a terrible day so why shouldnt i get a little something out of it. Suddenly the sun disappeared behind the now grey clouds and fast droplets of rain poured from the sky. While everyone else in the class groaned and bitched about it, I grinned letting my mood relax.

I hear a dark chuckle from beside me. Murphy.
"Anyone would think you didn't want to be here." He whispered. We were both sat at the front due to the fact me and Murphy had to stand at front next to the teacher who made us introduce ourselves while every other fucker got to pick where they sat.
.........
"Okay everyone listen up these are the two new students. Why don't you two tell the class about yourselves while i get your paperwork and names on the register?" The teacher- Mr Kane- asked as if that wasnt completely unreasonable. Everyone's eyes were focused on me and Murphy as he stepped forward sensing my resistance.
"My names Murphy, the new cockroach of this place. My girl Emori is in another class but if anyone so much as looks at her the wrong way then we'll both skin you alive." His short speech was met with giggles and smirks. Except Mr Kane who cleared his throat giving Murphy a stern look. Murphy smirked and raised his hands in surrender as he went to one of the last seats remaining. "In a non-criminal way of course."
I rolled my eyes at the encouraging look on Kanes face and chose to have my guard up more around these people than the last school. Sarcasm is my only confidant.
"My names Rose, the new black widow spider. And i prefer silence than conversation given that im not here voluntarily." I fake smiled and dropped into my seat. I glanced at the back where i heard a stifled laugh and his dark brown eyes met mine.
............
I didn't need to lean closer to Murphy for him to hear me over everyone else's conversations."And anyone would be right. Dont worry though next time I'll be sitting at the back so you can drool over how much fun maths is by yourself."
I felt a sudden urge to punch Murphy and i glared back at him. Damn empath. Its a good thing I'm used to him trying to influence my emotions for his gain to ignore it at this point.

Looking down at the picture i drew i was startled to see it was a portrait of the boy at the back of the class. Brown curly hair, freckles dotting all over his cheeks, sharp jawline and dimpled chin. Otherwise known as Bellamy Blake. It was my first day yet his name had been muttered a lot over the course of the day by numerous foulish love struck girls. Was he handsome? Yes. Did he have sex appeal? Obviously. But thats it and i couldn't care less. And clearly im the only girl in school that plans on staying away from the popular bad boy. Even Murphy had been sharing conversations with Blake, John Mbege, Atom and Miller- the apparant mafia of this brightly depressing school.

I scrunched up the paper into a little ball, intending to burn it as soon as i get home before Indra sees it. She's our personal watcher to make sure me and Murphy behave ourselves until we get accepted to the realm. We need to know how to act as a human before we get to go to the realm; which means putting up with school until Indra gives the okay. It was the last year and we'd only moved schools from the last one because a group of boys had ganged up on Emori, leading to Murphy almost revealing himself and got expelled, while I continued to protect Emori until Indra sorted out the paper work to move us to another school. Indra wasn't impressed with how i handled myself either, going into the boys houses while they were sleeping and giving them the kind of nightmares that caused them to go to family therapy. Murphy had been ecstatic when he found out and we've been best friends ever since- well he would never admit that but he trusts me with the love of his life, we have eachothers backs, and we transformed around the same time, going through everything together. Basically family.

The bell rings and i immediately jump up and grab my backpack, heading straight out of the door without looking back. I walked at a fast pace that i tried to slow to match everyone else's as i made my way outside. We were all supposed to meet here, at the benches.
"How was your first day?" Lexa asked, the first to arrive.
I rolled my eyes, wondering where her girlfriend was considering they were joined at the hip. "Delightful. How was yours given you had to spend longer than five minutes away from Clarke?"
Lexa scowled but smiled when she felt Clarke's arms wrap around her. "Mine was torture." Clarke pouted until Lexa gave her a kiss which ended up being a full on make out session like usual.
"Okay guys this is not PG, definitely not suitable for the children leaving school. Can't you just wait to get a room?" My question was teasingly rhetorical given that i knew them too well.

I heard Emori and Murphy come up behind us and they fake gagged once they saw clexa practically one person by how they were clinging to eachother. I smiled at my family. None of us were related, none of us knew eachother before we transformed. And here we are.
"There's a party later at a club downtown. You losers in?" Murphy called.
Lexa seemed apprehensive but Clarke quickly changed her mind, something along the lines of how they can be fun. Emori is always keen to use her pickpocketing skills, especially on a drunk crowd.
I shake my head in response. "No thanks. Im capable of getting drunk by myself besides I'm already a fifth wheel at home, being one at a party isnt any different."

"Actually it is because if you're at the right party, you'll be too drunk to notice that your the fifth wheel." A deep voice spoke and we all turned to see Bellamy Blake standing alone listening to our conversations.
"Who said we wanted your opinion?" Lexa threatened, which made Bellamy quirk a surprised brow. This seemed to infuriate her more until Clarke dragged her towards their car before things got suspiciously tense. The last thing any of us wanted was to move again. Or for any humans to find out what we are.

Emori nodded at me and i nodded back, signaling i was okay to deal with him alone. Murphy seemed a bit weird, smirking at Bellamy as if he knew something about the human that i didnt.
"Do you guys always travel in a pack wherever you go?" Bellamy confidently asked as if he'd been watching us since we got here. I needed to keep my guard up around this particular human.
Shrugging, i adjusted my bag on my shoulder. "Do you always ask questions that you can't have answers to?"
Bellamy's lips twitched. "Can't or won't?"
I cocked my own eyebrow but said nothing.
Instead once he seemed to assume we were alone, he pulled out a piece of scrunched up paper and showed it to me. Daring me to deny that it was mine.

"Normally i charge people when they make me their muse." The bastard seemed to be enjoying this far too much. I attempted to take it but he just held it further out of my reach and as much as i wanted to deck him, i cant reveal myself.
"Really? So how much is it to get rid of your company?" I snapped, scowling and his smirk just stretched wider on his face. Rolling my eyes i turned to leave, walking towards... oh crap the others had cars, they must've assumed i wouldn't mind walking, or Murphy did it to piss me off.
"Need a ride?" Bellamy asked, cockiness fading into sincerity as he fiolows my gaze to the almost empty car parking lot.
Shaking my head i continue walking straight through, rain still pouring but not enough for us to get drenched. "Ive got legs. They're perfectly operational."
"Suit yourself. You know I'll give you back the drawing if you come to the party?" He asked, still following beside me.

I come to a stop at his words. I tend to get a bit angry when people try to blackmail me. The air around me picked up on my mood, the wind getting stronger as it blew our hair and clothes violently. He wasn't competent enough to guess that the sudden weather change was my fault.
"Look Blake i dont give a rats ass who you are but NO ONE blackmails me. Im not going to that party and you can tell the entire school that i drew you, if you want. I don't care because high school isnt everything. And im pretty sure im making it clear that i prefer to be left alone."

The wind tore through my hair but i kept walking down the street until someone grabs my arm. I stop but glare at his hand until he lets go. His cocky facade seems to have faded away to frustration and regret.
"Hey look him sorry okay? Thats not what i meant."
"Then what did you mean?" I snapped but the longer i glared the more i just wanted to go home.
He seemed to take my question as a leeway to continue. "I wasn't going to show anyone, i was actually going to keep it. Its pretty impressive. I just- you dont have to come to the party but it might help you make some friends until graduation."
I stare at him, confused as to why the famous Bellamy Blake gives a damn about how many friends i have. "Don't you get it, Blake? Im the black widow spider, the person that just uses people when necessary but remains alone. This is my choice and its going to stay that way."

By the expression on his face i dont know if he was confused by my choice or if he somehow understood it. Either way the wind had slowed to a soft breeze and the clouds were opening to the sun. His expression was soft with those smouldering brown orbs. He started walking again down the street i was headed but stopped when he saw i wasn't walking beside him. "You don't have to come but the party is this way if you change your mind."
Shaking my head with a quiet laugh i catch up to him and walk beside the brute that was actually a bug softie. We walked side by side, occasionally brushing against eachother, with nothing between us but silence. And an answer to the decision that i will later regret.

Authors note: so this particular oneshot will probably turn into parts. But i do have another story that im dedicated to finishing so this mightbe slow for updates. If anyone has any requests dont hesitate to let me know! And don't forget to vote x
