Baby Daddy

It all started like this.
Bellamy was going about his week as usual, he liked to have a routine by the clock, ever since he was a kid,so he wouldn't lose his mind. He'd wake up at 6am, have some healthy breakfast, go for a run, get a quick shower and go to the history museum that he owns (because yeah, he's basically living the dream if he does say so himself) and come home if he isnt hanging out at the Arkadian bar with his friends. But today is Easter Sunday so it's the only day, except for Christmas (because despite what his sister says he isnt a complete nerd) that he has off. Which is why that he woke up earlier wondering to himself what he can possibly do for the day despite eating the chocolate eggs that Octavia had got him no matter how many times he argued that he wasnt going to eat so much chocolate. It was now only 9am, and having been just on his run and eating a full English breakfast due to working up an appetite, he heads to his bathroom to take a quick shower.
Which is when someone knocks on his door. He doesn't hear it at first but then the rapping gets increasingly louder as if whoever it is is trying to knock his door down. Stumbling out of the shower he grabs his towel to dry himself quickly and immediately starts pulling on his clean clothes.
Practically sprinting to the door of his apartment, he finally opens the door to his neighbour from across the hall.
"Miss Donavan? Is everything okay?" He asks the middle aged woman, who normally is so calm looks completely the opposite with worry lines creasing her forhead.
Nodding she fidgets with the coat she has folded over her arms. "Sorry Bellamy, I tried to stop the missis from leaving but she practically sped away in her car."
Bellamy frowns and the confusion seeps into his voice. "Stop who? Are you sure your okay?"
She seems to realise something then and reaches to the floor to grab something from his doormat. When she stands he finally sees what she's holding; a carrier for a baby. With a baby inside fast asleep. He has so many questions but none ever make it to his lips.
Miss Donavan seems to take pity on him. "I was just walking out from my door and heading to the elevator when i saw a young woman drop this little one at your door. She was going to leave him when i started to ask questions and ran down the stairs when i wanted to call the police. She just said he would be better off with you."
His mind felt like it was going 90 miles per hour but then not fast enough to actually comprehend what's happening. Looking down at the little baby again he sees the dark curls already forming and the skin tone just lighter than his but not by much.
"Did she say her name?" Bellamy asks slowly, dread creeping up and coiling deep in his stomach.
His neighbour shakes her head regretfully. "She only said not to bother calling the police because you had all the rights now."
After a few moments of silence, Bellamy tries to calm his heartbeat down to a healthy rythem. "What did she look like?"
"Tall, skinny, dark hair and fairly pretty," she pauses off her listing to add, "she did look like she had tattoos on her arms."
Bellamy tries to think of anyone he could possibly know with that description but comes up blank except Octavia but what would she possibly be doing with a baby? He only saw her yesterday and she didn't look like she was about to drop a baby on him, let alone to have one in the first place.
Shuffling again, its obvious she's struggling with the weight of the carrier and without thinking about it, Bellamy takes it from her and places the still sleeping baby gently behind the door.
"Thanks Miss Donovan, I'll handle it." He says aukwardly and she clearly buys the fake confidence he has. (He's a private person, and he doesnt want the entire apartment building to know about this before he understands it himself)
The older woman nods and after a few more words and pleasantries on the subject, leaves to go to her unfinished trip to the grocery store.
Shutting the door behind him quietly he stands there for who knows how long just staring down at the tiny baby tucked into his carrier that looks like its seen better days. He idly wonders what kind of person would abandon her baby on someone's doorstep without an explanation and just leave him there, defenseless.
It's that which makes him think back to the past couple of months and how he and his friends play pranks on eachother. They were on the scale of whoopy cushion (curtesy of Jasper who said they are hilarious and original) to the embarrassing, humiliating extreme. The last one he played was on Raven; they were in the karaoke bar and she was gushing (although she denies that word and says she was just stating facts) about Roan Snow, who works with Sinclairs company with her, and how she finds him infuriating yet hot at the same time. Which wouldn't have been all that bad until Bellamy saw Roan in the same bar and chose that moment to turn on the microphone Raven had in her hand and watch as she eventually heard what she was saying blasting through all of the speakers and Roan smirking at her. It took all of their friends to hold her off while he drove home as fast as he could.
That was a week ago and he knew how vengeful Raven Reyes could be, and considering he hadnt heard from her this would be an opportune moment to mess with him. So carefully carrying the baby carrier to the middle of his living room he sat close by on the sofa and pulled out his phone.
Bellamy: Raven did you really go this far just because of the prank war?
Raven: what the fuck do you want now Blake?
Which was her basic greeting to anyone so he allowed himself to believe that maybe this was all a mistake.
Bellamy: did you play a prank on me today?
Raven: believe it or not i have better things to do than devote my time on you... like Roan ;)
Bellamy: so im forgiven then?
Raven: yes Blake I'll let your prank slide but only because im having great sex :p
Bellamy: gross Reyes. So you haven't retaliated?
Raven: you started this Blake so your damn right im going to go into detail about it. Think of it as your punishment. But no i haven't done anything, why?
Bellamy pauses, he didnt have complete belief that she had done this to mess with him but the other option just seemed so much more worrying and he already did enough of that. He dismisses Raven easily and decides to narrow down his one other suspect who matched the womans description.
Bellamy: hey, O did you by any chance stop by my apartment earlier?
Her response comes a little later but she was probably at the gym to work off more calories for how much chocolate she will eat later.
O: no why? I just got to the gym half an hour ago after Lincoln and I finished packing for our plane later xx
Bellamy: just one of my neighbours thought they saw you hanging around. Hope you both have a good trip, see you in a couple days x
At a loss for words, he sat there until 10am frozen as he tried to comprehend the situation he was in. He just didnt undertsand what was going on and Bellamy never liked not knowing something. He was just trying to think over his heart when the baby decided to wake up and start screaming at the top of his little lungs. Bellamy picked him up, remembering a time where he used to take care of Octavia when she was young. But after around 30 minutes of non stop crying, the baby seemed even more upset than before and so was Bellamy. He hated when anyone was upset but when children were it physically hurt Bellamy to see them like that, he had a soft spot for them.
He didn't have any baby food and there wasnt a bag of necessities with the baby that the mother shouldve brought. He had tried singing, humming, and talking all while he was cradling the baby in his arms walking the length of his apartment. Bellamy needed someone to help him but he couldn't tell his sister who wasnt great with kids and she was already at the airport with Lincoln for their delayed honeymoon. He couldn't tell any of his friends because they all lacked experience and were either too immature for something like this or they wouldn't be much help at all. He didnt just need someone to get the diapers or baby formula, he needed someone with experience. And only one person came to his mind.
With how big his arms are he carefully sat down on the sofa and used one arm to cradle the still screaming baby and the other to pull out his phone. He knew he'd get shit for asking Miller for Daisy's number but that was a problem for another day which paled in comparison.
Bellamy: hey, Daisy its Bellamy Blake.
It took her a couple minutes to reply.
Daisy: you do realise just Bellamy wouldve been fine? I dont know any other Bellamy's.
He tells himself hes mature enough to let that slide but really hes just hoping that his sisters best friend will help him.
Bellamy: i kind of have an emergency.
Daisy: kind of? An emergency is an emergency. You either have one or you dont.
The banter was distracting enough that Bellamy's ears weren't still bleeding but as soon as he thought that, the baby seemed to cry louder.
Bellamy: look i know we're not close friends or anything but i wouldn't be asking if it wasnt important. Could you come over to my place asap?
Her reply followed a few seconds after he hit send and his relief soared.
Daisy: I'll be there in 10.
True to her word she arrived at his door ten minutes later and knocked on his door the second it turned 10:55am. (Yes he was staring at his clock waiting for her.)
He carried the baby with him to the door and as soon as he opened it, Daisy's green eyes zeroed in on the small bundle that was still crying. He saw her furrowed brows and opened the door to motion her inside and she followed without question. She was dressed in her casual clothes instead of her nurse scrubs from working in Arkadia General Hospital. Their were dark circles under her eyes and he made sure to mentally note to apologise for waking her as she's been working nights for the past few days.
Daisy looked at Bellamy and she must have seen the distress he was trying to hide.
"Since when do you have a kid?" She asks over the babys screaming.
Bellamy doesnt feel like going through everything after almost an hour of listening to defeaning cries. "Long story, I'll fill you in later. Promise." His voice contains the silent plea he's trying to surpress.
She winces at him in sympathy as the baby keeps crying. "How long has the baby been crying?"
He shrugs and opens his mouth but honestly he's trying his best not to cry so Daisy steps forward.
Bellamy frowns but doesn't protest as she moves to picks the baby up from his arms.
"Trust me." She whispers over the cries and Bellamy's hold slackens as he lets her take over.
He watches as Daisy holds the baby to her chest, close and with one hand to support his head, her fingers gently swiping through his small dark curls. And slowly the crying stops.
Bellamy doesnt know how she did it but in that moment he slouches into his sofa and thanks all the mythic gods that she's here. After Bellamy adjusts to the silence and his headache decreases he opens his eyes to see Daisy still where he left her.
"Thank you." He says lowly to not wake the baby up again.
Nodding she moves to sit down without jostling the baby boy. "Fancy explaining why I'm here holding a baby?"
"My neighbour knocked on my door this morning after she saw a woman leave him on my doorstep. I dont know who it was but they told Miss Donavan that he would be better off with me and that i have all the rights now." He sighs, finally letting the inevitable sink in.
"He's my kid." Bellamy admits for the first time and out loud.
Daisy nods and when he turns to her wondering how she was so sure she explained. "He looks like you with the dark baby curls and freckles."
Bellamy rubs his hands over his face and revels in the quiet for a little longer. He needs to think about what he needs to do next: take a DNA test, get some baby essentials, take time off work to care for him until he can figure out a babysitter, definitely move into a bigger place, etc. The list seemed to never be ending and not enough.
Daisy reaches out to touch Bellamy's elbow. "Its okay that your not okay with this. Its a lot to just be sprung on you."
"I thought it was a prank. But if it was i figured you'd know about it." He huffed, resting his head on the back of the sofa and turning his head to look at her.
Her lips twitch. "And you figured if i came over here I'd see the state you were in and confirm it or not."
He attempts a smile. "Something like that, yeah."
"im flattered." Daisy jokes, looking down at the sleeping baby on her chest. "But this isn't something I'd let our friends pull Bellamy."
"i believe you." He replied looking down at the baby. His baby. His son.
"Jesus." He mutters still scared about his next move.
Daisy giggles softly, her green eyes teasing. "Is that his name? Jesus? I wouldve thought it would be a greek God's name."
Bellamy raises his eyebrows at her in surprise and he was sure he saw her blush when she used her ginger hair as a curtain to cover her face.
"Your sister talks about you a lot. She told me you named her." She explained.
Bellamy realised that he didnt even know if his kid has a name, the only thing he came with was the carrier he was asleep in, and his curiosity won out as he pulled it over to him to look if there was any clue of who left him here. He was about to give up when he lifted the seat inside and found a full envelope inside.
He sits back wiih his elbows on his knees, holding the truth in his hands and hesitating to open it. Daisy gently lays his baby in the middle of them and reaches over to hold onto his arm, it helped to ground him and he offered a grateful smile.
Heaving a deep breath he opened it up to find a birth certificate with no name for the baby but his name was written where it said father and where it said mother was the name Echo Smith.
"Echo is his mother." He spoke aloud so he would have someone to witness all of this.
Daisy took the birth certificate from him. "Echo? The girl you dated a while ago, why would she not tell you? Why wouldn't she give him a name?"
He had dated Echo months ago, and come to think of it they had broken up around 9 months ago but with good reason. The disaster of their breakup was the reason he had gone back to one night stands and banning off dating much to his friend's annoyance.
Bringing himself back to the present he remembered that the reason he never bonded and became close friends with Daisy is because he took out his bad breakup on her.
He'd pick arguments with her out of nowhere, call her names and ignore her completely when their friends all went out together. All of their friends had given him enough shit for him to stop treating her like that but it was already too late. Daisy would go out of her way to avoid him, when their friends went out she would bring some of her own friends that only she knew from her childhood so she wouldnt have to be even a little close to him. And she'd never let him apologise either, not that he can blame her, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and because he didnt know her as well as all their other friends he didnt think before he took out his frustration and pain out on her.
Daisy had never responded to any of his harsh comment either, just looked at him evenly and either ignored his existence or left to hang around someone else. But she never, ever snapped back at him until the moments he tried to apologise. As if his apologies were worse than the harsh words he'd spat at her. He knew part of the reason she did it was because she was best friends with Octavia as his sister told him as much so they were civil on behalf of his sister. But they hadn't spoken to eachother directly or spent time together without any of their friends. This was their first time alone.
Bellamy shook his head remembering she asked him a question. "Yeah one of the reasons we would never work is because she hated kids, she never wanted any but i told her how much i wanted some. I guess thats why she gave him up."
It was true he'd had arguments with echo about where they both thought the relationship was going and kids were a big deal for both of them. She was nowhere near the motherly type and preferred to be places where there wasnt any loud kids. He can undertsand why she gave their son up to give him, she just wasnt ever wanting to be a parent.
"I can get you an appointment for a DNA test." Daisy spoke up to his surprise. He stared at the girl that has been avoiding him for months.
Daisy seemed to grow uncomfortable under his gaze. "He's yours without a doubt but you need to be sure. He needs you."
Both of them looked down at the child inbetween them, so small and defensless and completely dependent on Bellamy. The thought scared him and made him determined all at once. He couldnt fail, not at this. Not with his son.
.............
It had been a week since he'd first met his son and a lot had been accomplished in that time. He'd taken the DNA test which proved that he was Bellamy's son, and visited a lawer and made sure that he did have all of the rights over his son to avoid a surprise from Echo if she ever decided to be involved with their son again (which he knew she wouldnt but he wanted to be sure). Everything he'd done this week had also included Daisy. She'd kept her promise and gotten him the DNA appointment which she'd made an appearance in which helped Bellamy's nerves, especially when he knew for sure. She'd also helped with the shopping because Bellamy had gotten everything but baby clothes and seeing how overwhelmed he was, she offered to take his son to the store while he was at work.
Honestly Bellamy thought she was a godsend with everything she's done for him in the past week, so he wanted her to know that he'd finally thought of a name for his son. It'd taken him a week to decide ,because according to Daisy, he had too many nerdy prospects to choose from and the longer he took the more of a nerd he seemed. He had grown fond of her teasing remarks by now though, just thankful that she didnt seem to be ignoring him anymore.
She let herself in with the key he gave her (dont look at him like that, it was just for emergencies), and went straight to his son who was in his play pen in the middle of the living room. He was only a few weeks old so the only thing he could do was stare up at his toys in what Bellamy assumes is awe but in a couple more weeks he could be rolling around and then crawling and then taking his first steps. Bellamy tried not to think about it or he'd always tear up.
"How's my favourite boy doing?" She cooed down at him and Bellamy swore that he saw his son trying to smile. He didnt know whether to feel jealous or happy that his son liked her instantly whereas it took a couple days for both Blake boys to get used to eachother.
Bellamy walked back to the kitchen and continued to watch her play with his son while he cooked. "He's been fussy but i think he's just getting used to being here." He was going to ask how work was for her but he wasnt sure if they were at that stage of friendship yet.
She walked towards Bellamy, leaving his son to amuse himself. "What did you want to tell me anyways?"
He tried to contain his smile but it was pointless. "Augustus Blake."
Daisy's eyes narrowed then light up with laughter as she smiled. "I can't believe it took you a week to decide." She paused purposefully, sarcasm dripping fom her tone. "...Actually yeah i can."
He rolled his eyes at her because he could tell by her smile that she liked it too.
"You know your going to get shit from Octavia about his name and not knowing he even exists." She states as if he didnt know that already but she was just aiming to mess with him tonight.
Glancing at the door nervously, he tried to keep his mind on cooking. "Im going to get shit anyway. I just hope they'll all be distracted by Augustus to focus on me for a while."
Snorting, she raises her bottle of copperburg. "Dont worry, he'll have them wrapped around his little fingers in no time."
"Lets hope so." He murmurs as he hears the door opening followed by all of their friends.
He didnt know if they were all more shocked at the fact that him and Daisy were alone together and spending all this week that way or that he had a son who had been dropped on his doorstep. His sister had been furious with him for about 3 minutes until Daisy gave Augustus to Lincoln and his sister didnt seem to have any more arguments. He high fived Daisy when no one was looking.
"Augustus, Bell? Really?" Octavia teased as soon as the commotion had died down. Now it was Raven who was holding Augustus as he had been passed around the room all night to be gushed over.
Bellamy tilted his head with a smile. "Daisy likes his name."
Daisy was sat across from him on the arm chair, and she shook her head at him involving her in this.
Octavia turns to look at her best friend whom shed lost hope that Daisy would forgive her brother for being an ass. "I'm just glad you two are friends now."
It took everything for Bellamy not to wince because of course someone would have said something he just hoped they wouldnt want to risk it. Aukward silence follows and he was trying not to look at Daisy as she answers.
"Yeah, me too." She agrees and Bellamy cant help but look up at her through his lashes, unsure if she was just saying it for his sisters behalf.
But before she could subtly confirm it Augustus started to wail in Raven arms. Raven passed him to Miller who passed him to Monty then Jasper and finally to Bellamy. It took a couple of minutes for his fatherly instincts to kick in and realise that his son wanted someone else's attention in particular.
He handed his son over to Daisy, who took him with a fond smile and held him in her arms as she cooed down at him to soothe his cries. "Guess I'm your favourite huh Gus? Try not to make it obvious your dad's getting jealous."
Bellamy laughed and his heart did a funny flip when Gus gurgled back at her as if he was trying to talk to her.
That should have been his first warning.
..........
It was only a few days after that Augustus had started to gain a little cough and gain a temperature. Bellamy had thoroughly cleaned his entire apartment after he heard his son's first coughs but as the day went on and his temperature rose, the eldest Blake started to panic. He picked his son up and tried to soothe him but he was extremely quiet and that was very unusual for the littlest Blake. From his experience with Octavia, babies would normally cry when they were sick.
He didnt even hesitate to call her.
It took Daisy 7 everlasting rings to pick up. "Hello?"
"Somethings wrong with Gus...hes-hes sick or-, i dont know but-"
She hears his panic and quickly cuts through his stuttering. "Bellamy calm down and talk slowly. Whats wrong with Gus?"
Behind her calm methodical voice he senses her panic too. "He's been coughing a while but now he's burning up. Daisy i dont know what to do."
She doesnt hesitate either. "I'll be there asap."
True to her word she arrives in five minutes which is quicker than he was expecting but he doesn't have it in him to comment about it right now. She practically rips the door open and immediately goes into nurse mode, taking his son's temperature and asking Bellamy questions which he answers as much as he can.
She heads to the bathroom and Bellamy quickly follows them as she starts giving him orders. "Bellamy close the door and turn the shower on to the hottest temperature. We need to get the entire room steamed up."
And thats exactly what he did, as in minutes the room was condensating with all of the steam and both of them were relatively wet from the heat. But his sons coughing had stopped so Bellamy had zero complaints.
"The steam unclogs his lungs and makes it easier to breathe. Not all babies go through this but some do." She answers to his very silent question.
He nods his head, staring lovingly down at his son in her arms. "I'm just glad he's okay, thanks."
They both sit there a while longer and Bellamy looks down at his watch and sees it is quite late. And then he remembers why Daisy wasnt already in his apartment tonight like she was most of the time, she had a date.
He makes sure to ask carefully. "Didnt you have a date tonight."
She nods and looks at him shrugging. "Yeah but it wasnt going well anyway. Even if it was I'd still cut it short for Gus."
Bellamy smiles at her love for him. "You got here quick."
"I may have broken a few speed limits and traffic light violations." She admits shyly as if it wasnt the most adorable thing he'd ever heard.
His son starts to gurgle at him so Daisy passes Augustus back to Bellamy. The older Blake feels her gaze as he gazes at his son.
"Can i ask you something?" She asks, uncertain.
He nods looking up at her.
"Why did you call me that day? Out of everyone, why me?" Which yeah was a fair question given they werent even on speaking terms at the time. And they hadnt even talked about any of that since his son turned up and she'd forgiven him.
Thinking it over, he wanted to be completely honest with her. "I called you for a lot of reasons i guess. Because you are a nurse, because you're the godmother to a lot of your friends kids," and because the moment is a little too serious, he adds "and because lets face it the rest of our friends would've panicked."
It does what he intended, she smiles.
He looks down at his son again, his heart softening while his tone is serious. "But i knew i could count on you even if we weren't on the best of terms. And you'll never know how grateful i am that you replied to my text."
Daisy wants to ask more, ask why he treated her that way when he clearly saw what she was like. But Bellamy looked more gentle than she had ever seen, and decided if he wanted her to know he'll tell her when he's ready.
..............
Its Augustus's first birthday when he finally tells her. By now Bellamy had witnessed his son crawling, and taking his first steps which Octavia had recorded since he'd started to cry (it was an emotional moment, O) and his first word which was "dada" courtesy of Daisy who'd been trying to teach him for months without his knowledge. But after he'd told Daisy, he didn't miss her words of pride to Gus when she'd thought he couldn't hear.
"So proud of you Gus! You did it! You made your daddy happy with just one word, we'll work on a sentence next. Your my smart little man, aren't you?"
He waited a couple minutes to walk back into the living room, because she was right, it did make him cry. And her words may have produced more.
The party was in his apartment with all of his friends bringing too many presents, the music not too loud, and Daisy's friend's kids playing with Gus. All in all it wasnt so bad, and Bellamy was genuinely enjoying himself as was his son until a knock came at the door. Daisy had volunteered to see who it was and it wasnt until he saw her back freeze and her expression as she turned to look at him that he grew concerned. He walked next to her and saw who was standing at the doorway. Echo.
She didnt smile, so much as let her eyes flit around, which Bellamy knew meant that she wanted to talk. He could feel Daisy's eyes on him but she didnt press, didnt ask questions. Just waited for his assuring nod before she left them in the doorway to talk alone.
Echo, seemingly very uncomfortable, cleared her throat. "How've you been, Bellamy?"
"Why are you here, Echo?" Bellamy bit out, straight to the point. Not harsh but gruff.
She nodded her head as if she expected his reaction. "I just came to see if you were okay. If you kept the baby."
"Of course i did, he's mine." He replied immediately. If it were anyone else he would've thought that she came to take Gus back, to have sole custody or be in his life. But the resigned look on her face spoke for her. She wasn't here for their son.
"What the fuck do you want?" Octavia seethed, coming from behind him to his side. The party hadnt stopped so much as there was no more humming of conversations. The music a background noise to the stilled silence.
Echo had the nerve to look at him then and he wasnt a vain person by any means but he could tell when a girl wanted his attention. She came to see him. Not to see her son, or even hold him, but to see Bellamy. Octavia seemed to figure out the same.
Lincoln comes up to stand slightly between Octavia and Echo, but he doesnt hold his wife back.
"Do you honestly think you have a shot with my brother again? After the shit you pulled?!" She growls, "your gang of thugs is the reason Gina had that accident and died which broke my brothers heart. Then you acted like you werent involved just to get with him and tried to make him chose between me and you. And then when i went to talk to you-"
Bellamy put a hand on his sisters shoulder to cut off the rest of her rant. The breakup wasnt fresh but everything still stung. If his son hadnt come into his life, the old Bellamy may have reacted exactly like Octavia. Held on to grudges with pent up emotion. But he has a son now and over the course of the last few months he'd like to think he's smarter now, that he's more mature for his sake as well as his son's.
He looks behind him and sees that other parents are preoccupying their children while Gus is attempting to stumble towards him and his aunt. He forgets how easy his son can pick up on his moods as Gus makes a confused face as to why he would be all the way over there and what auntie Octavia is shouting at.
Daisy intercepts him and takes him into Bellamy's bedroom in case anything kicks off or Gus starts to cry for him. Bellamy looks back to Octavia who has visibly softened at the sight of her nephew so Bellamy takes that as his cue.
"Echo, i can't trust you after what's happened. I might be able to forgive what you've done eventually but i won't forget any of it. Augustus is my priority now and nothing will change that. If you ever want to see our son then you'll have to take it through court but that's all we'd ever see of eachother." He states, as if he's a calm leader.
Echo turns to leave after hesitating a moment, doesnt apologise whether she thinks its pointless or she simply doesn't beleive its her fault Bellamy doesnt know. Doesn't care.
The party picks up again and as his sister goes to cool off, he goes towards his bedroom to see two people that will calm him down just by seeing them. He shuts the door behind him and sees Daisy laid on her back on his bed as she lifts Gus into the air above her. Normally it would cause him to be in a fit of giggles.
"Come on bud, wheres that laugh?" He encourages, as he lays down beside them.
Which allows Gus to see him and instantly he breaks out in a toothy grin, kicking his legs around and flapping his arms clumsily.
Dasiy laughs. "I may be his favourite to cuddle with but he definitely loves you more. Not that its a competition." She adds as if he needed the assurance.
Bellamy raises his hand so one of his son's little hand can cling to him, his little stubby fingers growing with the rest of him a little too much for Bellamy's liking. He hasnt been able to keep a schedule except for the exhausting baby cries in the middle of the night and every couple of hours, but with his son's growing rate this was also something he was growing out of. Bellamy closed his eyes, breathed nice and slow, let the warmth of the two bodies in the room and the comfort of the bed relax him.
"You're not going to ask?" Bellamy eventually said, when all he could hear was his son's gurgling.
Daisy shifted Augustus so he was sat on the top of her legs, still laid down comfortably next to him. "Its none of my business."
Her whisper made him open his eyes. "It kind of is."
Confused, she turns her head and he turns his. Both searching eachothers souls with their eyes. He can't remember the last time he felt so secure with someone, so safe that he can let himself drift off when she's around because she will take care of Gus and turn his alarms on for work when he forgets. He can trust that if there's ever an emergency, she will break speeding limits to be there for both him and his son. That she goes out of her way to make him happy when she thinks he doesnt know, that she loves his son with all of her heart. That she turned up at his door when he needed her most and forgave him when he didnt deserve it.
So he told her. He told her about Clarke and how they were high school sweet hearts until she left him for a girl named Lexa in college. And of how it was the sweet nurturing Gina that mended his heart until she was killed two years ago by a gang that tried to rob a bank. Then how Echo showed up and helped him through his grief only for Octavia to figure out that she was the leader of the gang and that Echo had threatened his sister with a knife to keep her silent. Of the many screaming matches both Blakes had with her until she finally left and Bellamy went back to the man he used to be...the asshole that has women trippign over themselves to sleep with him and who was he to not oblige them?
Through all of his confession, Daisy stayed quiet and Bellamy couldn't decide if that was a good or bad thing.
