Chapter 24

...

"You knew you were pregnant, didn't you?" Jungkook asked.

Jimin gave Zia a its-okay-I'm-right-here-just-say-it look with an encouraging smile.

Zia looked down, "I came to know today...in the morning. I wasn't feeling well the past few days. I didn't know what was wrong. But I sensed something was wrong with my body." She said.

"But how? I mean nothing happened right?" Jungkook asked, careful not to increase the tone of his voice.

She shook her head, "Remember that night, I wasn't home? I went to Crimson. The casino and pub building. Kang said it was for some clients, and he had talked with you" She told, looking at Jungkook.

Yeah that night. Kang called Jungkook saying he needs for some company work. He never mentioned it was for clients and that the work was not in the HQ building.

Jungkook clenched his fists. Jimin rubbed Zia's back.

"I went there. And I got drunk, someone got me an alcoholic drink. He was with me, Taehyung. Kim Taehyung." She said.

Kim Taehyung? Jimin and Jungkook exchanged glances. Both of them were confused. They knew Taehyung. Not a friendly relation, but due to business.

"The only thing that I missed was...that he was the client. He was with me the whole night. I don't remember what happened due the strong drink. I was too drunk. But next day when I woke up, he wasn't there. I was alone. My body was hurting and... Something was wierd... Like very wierd." Zia said.

She didn't realize how hard she was squeazing Jimin's hand. But he never said anything. He couldn't feel a thing, he was so focused on Zia's words. He didn't even realize the tears.

"Two days ago, I went to the hospital. The doctor she needs to do some tests and gave me the report today." Zia was now looking at Jimin's hand as he was holding her, or she'll collapse "I hate him. I-I hate him...so much..." She said through gritted teeth. "He didn't even think once...how everything will affect me... He ruined my life...Jimin." and she broke into another stream of tears flowing down her cheeks.

Jimin hugged her tightly.

"Shh. Its going to be okay." He stroked her hair.

Jimin glanced at Jungkook who was sitting there with them. This was too much for him to take. He thought Taehyung was a nice man and would treat Zia right. But guess he was wrong. Very wrong.

Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Jimin, just to find that he was already looking at him. Jimin's lips never left a word for him, but Jungkook knew what Jimin was thinking.

'I'll do something' Jungkook mouthed to Jimin.
Jimin nodded and saw Jungkook stand up and leave the room.

.....

"Hello, can I speak to Kim Taehyung?" Jungkook said through the phone.

"Sorry sir, Mr. Taehyung left Seoul three days ago." The lady said, probably Taehyung's manager.

"Left? To where?" Jungkook asked. He was already annoyed enough and now this was making his blood boil.

"Sir, we're not allowed to give his location to anyone unless you ar-" She said.

"Yo-" Jungkook was now very close to yelling. But things don't work like this. Jungkook breathed in and out, trying to calm his nerves.

"Okay listen," he said calmly "can I have his number?"

"Mr. Taehyung's personal number is not supposed to be leaked out. So I can't help you with that. I hope you unders-"

Not waiting for the lady to complete, Jungkook ended the call, throwing the phone across the room. He ran his hand through his hair frustratingly.

Jungkook was in his office, sitting on his chair with a squeashy sponge ball in his left hand. He kept compressing it and releasing it, keeping his muscles less tensed.

____

Jimin sat next on the edge of the bed where Zia was sleeping.
She was with him, in his house. He didn't let her be alone. She needs a lot of care.

They came home from hospital in the morning. She wasn't able to sleep after yesterday. Jimin was trying to console her but she kept saying that she can't do it and she doesn't want this. It was hard to put her to sleep.

He turned around when he felt her moving, she was sweating and her breathing was quite fast. And the next second she jolted up. Panting to get air.

"Hey relax. You're okay. I'm here." Jimin said to her rubbing her arm.

"Jimin..Jimin I don't want this...I.." she started crying...again.

Jimin's heart ached every time he saw her crying like this. Taehyung hurted her badly. He broke her. If anything Jimin knew, he won't leave Taehyung whenever he found him. That man should suffer for making the only person Jimin loves, suffer.

Zia was clenching her stomach. She doesn't want the baby. But killing a child even before its born is cruel right?

And what the man did to her isn't cruel?

Jimin slowly removed her hand from her stomach. He doesn't have words to say. What is he supposed to explain to her?
He pulled her in his warm embrace, engulfing her in a hug to tell her that he won't let anyone hurt her, that he will protect her and take care of her and that they'll fight this too.

"Jimin...am I really that b-bad...to deserve all of this..?" She asked sobs while clutching onto Jimin's shirt. "Did I do something wrong?"

His crazily pounding heart crushed on hearing those words leave Zia's mouth. No, she didn't deserve any of this. From the very start. She didn't deserve this. No one does.

"No Zia. Don't say like that. You didn't do anything wrong." Jimin uttered lovingly carressing her back in order to comfort her.

"I wanted to die...why did I wake up again? I wanted go away
...forever...why did Jungkook save me? I was going.." She looked at him for the first time after waking up from her almost-nap.

Now Jimin too had warm tears in his eyes. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.

"Really? You wanted to go away..." He spoke gently "and leave me alone here? You know I wouldn't be able to survive without you. Still, you wanted to leave and never come back?" He asked.

Zia stared at him, her hand lifted making its way to the boy's face. She wiped the tear that just left his eye and shook her head. Jimin too stared back, he held her hand there on his cheek. The corner of his lips lifted up a little as he brought her hand near his lips and kissed it.

"And about why you woke up? You love me too much to leave me." He whispered.

Not saying another word, she leaned in and hugged him tightly, tighter than ever.

Jimin smiled and closed his eyes, wanting to live this very moment completely with her. He felt a pair of soft, warm lips placing a delicate peck on the crook of his neck, making him giggle.

"That tickles." He said and laughed.

She pulled away and looked at him. The tears now stopped. Jimin really has a magic.

"You do that too." She said smiling when when she heard Jimin's angelic giggle "now you know how it feels?" She said sticking her tongue out at him.

"Just stay like this." He said softly while carressing her head.

"You stay with me"

"I will."

.....

"Yeah, make sure you do it as soon as possible." Jungkook ordered on the phone before finalizing the call.

He exhaled sharply and walked towards the door of his office. With all the things being insanely suffocating, he can't bear staying in the building for even one more minute.

Jungkook took the stairs, for the first time. Elavator would've been even more suffocating. His brain kept repeating everything. He couldn't get himself to admit that he wasn't responsible for this.

Maybe if he didn't let Zia go that night, it wouldn't have happened.
Maybe if he asked Kang about the contract, it wouldn't have happened.
Maybe if he thought straight for once, it wouldn't have happened.

The black SUV sped tremendously. He wasn't in his best mind. He wanted to home, as soon as possible.

Sweat trickled on his forehead and further down his face and neck, making his bangs stick to his skin. His usually bright eyes, today looked red and dried with unstable breathing. What was happening?
He didn't know.

Stopping the car with a screeching noise in front of the house, he sprinted inside, not even bothering to close the door.

Jungkook stepped inside his room and slammed the door shut. He sat on the bed squinted his eyes tightly and burried his face in his palms.
Cold. His palms felt nothing but cold.

Sitting like that for five minutes, he was trying his best to calm his mind and soul. Nothing worked. What to do now? Jungkook lifted his head up, staring at the white ceiling above his head. He let his body fall backwards on the bed and closed his eyes again. A shaky breath escaped his mouth as he whispered...

"I'm sorry..."

His heart was thrumming vigorously against his chest, as if it would jump out any second. A deep pain was beginning to arise somewhere in the center of his head, right behind his forehead.

Jungkook could hear nothing else but a few unclear, muffled sounds of someone. The vocie got clearer as his head began pounding harder inside his skull.

A girl's voice. She sounded in so much pain. She was screaming hoping someone would listen. A few people did, but no one had the courage to step forward and be her saviour.

Everything was repeating. Jungkook jolted up from his bed when the sounds beacme unbearable. His automatically made their way on either side of his face, covering his ears tightly. But no. The sound didn't stop. He wasn't sleeping, but still having a nightmare. His chest was rising and falling abnormally fast. The worst of all the feelings was that, he had no one by his side.

Jungkook grasped his phone from the side table, nat being able to think straight, he called whatever name his fingers tapped on.

"...Z-Zia..." His words came out like a whisper.

"Jungkook? Why are you speaking like that? Are you okay?" Her voice echoed through Jungkook's ears between the loud screams in his head.

"I..." He couldn't speak. He didn't know what to say.

"Hello Jeon? What happened?" A male voice- Jimin's voice, Jungkook heard.

"H-hyung.." Jungkook said.

He called him hyung for the first time.

"Uh Jungkook, are you okay?"

"No.."

Jungkook said in a shaky voice. Jimin never heard this tone of Jeon Jungkook. He didn't know this side of Jungkook.

"Are you at home?" Jimin asked.

"H-hyung...save me. P-please" Jungkook said, not answering Jimin's question.

"I'm coming. Don't worry."

The call ended.

...

Jimin remained silent, not knowing how to respond.

"Why are you going to him now?" Zia asked.

"Jungkook...he needs help."

"I'll come with you."

"No, you stay here. You need to rest." Jimin said placing his hand on her shoulder.

Zia looked a little hesitant. What if Jungkook needs her? Why did he call her like that? Many other questions like these lingered in her head. Jimin gave her an assuring smile. She nodded. Jimin left, alone.
