Chapter 14
...
"How's everything going?"
"I need a week."
"A whole damn week!? This is getting out of hand Namjoon!"
Yoongi was pissed at Namjoon's recent behaviour.
"You know what!? You can just fuck off! I'll be better doing it alone!" He barked at the latter.
Namjoon glared at him. Nobody talks to him that way. How dare Yoongi did? A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as marched out of Yoongi's office. Who does he think he is?
In the elevator, Namjoon's phone rang. He clicked his tongue in annoyance on seeing the caller id.
"I told you not to call me before 5. Did you forget I had a meeting with Yoongi?" He said in a comparitively calmer tone.
"You haven't left the building yet?" The man asked.
"I did, just now." He said walking towards the parking area.
"Okay, how did the meeting go? Anything interesting?" The man said between some shuffling voices.
"Yeah he told me fuck off, thanks to you!" Namjoon commented with sarcasm dripping in his tone.
"That's good. Well, at least you won't have to work your ass off at two places." The man snorted.
"Mhm, it wasn't easy though. cuz he was already starting to doubt me that I maybe betraying him. Its better this way. You should've seen his face though. He's so desperate to find you." Namjoon said.
"I know. That's why I'm playing with him this way. Let's see how long he can survive with me being his opponent. I may not have money-"
"But you have a master mind. I know." Namjoon completed the sentence for him.
The man laughed and again some sound came from the background,
"Where are you? What's that noise in the background." Namjoon asked.
"Oh one of my friends is here with his girlfriend. And they're in the room next to mine. The walls aren't soundproof you know.." he told.
"It must be very unholy for your ears then?"
"It is. Very much in fact." He sighed.
"Okay I'll talk to you later."
"Ok. Later!"

"Mr. Park, there's someone waiting for you." The maid said.
"Who's it?" Jimin asked not glancing at her.
"Mr. Min"
Jimin nodded and motioned her to go. When he was finished buttoning his shirt, he walked out of the room, heading towards the stairs.
"Yoongi hyung" he voiced with a faint smile.
"Jimin, why did you call me so urgently? Is everything okay?" The older asked looking concerned.
"I have something to show you." Jimin said and took his phone, tapping a few times on the screen before handing it to his hyung.
Yoongi read text carefully. It was the one Jimin got yesterday around afternoon, before the pictures were taken down. Its defenitely the person who posted fake pictures of Zia. The conclusions Yoongi made in the morning were right.
"Do you know anyone who'd do this on purpose? Or something about this number?" He asked the latter.
"No" Jimin shook his head.
Yoongi nodded and fixed his eyes back at the phone screen. He swiftly pulled out his phone and saved the number.
"A received a few texts before this too, I was in Japan then. The number was different.." Jimin said.
"Can I see it?" Yoongi asked.
Jimin nodded and showed him the chat. Particularly the messages the person sent him.
"I think its the same person, just changing numbers." Yoongi said, "You did a good job telling me. I'll see in the matter. This is helpful."
Jimin nodded.
After talking for a few more minutes, Yoongi left. Jimin sighed and stood up from the couch glancing at his watch. 10:15, and the day is already going like this. He walked back upstairs, to his room.
Opening every drawer of the room Jimin couldn't find what he was looking for. He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, the file should be here, he kept it somewhere here. Jimin pulled the only drawer left, and searched for the file. His eyes landed on a paper- a newspaper cutting.
Jimin frowned thinking why he must've kept it. Turning the paper in his hand, as it was upside down, his brain processed the words and immediately regretted.
"Shit" he cursed at himself.
He felt a cold wave hit him. No the windows weren't open. It was what he had sown for himself. It was what he had let happen that day. It was what someone believed he could've stopped. It was what he wished he never saw. It was what a person can never imagine to live with. It was a reminder for himself that Park Jimin was and is a sinner.
The eyes held no emotion. Not even regret now. The two dark brown pupils just stared at the peice of paper with nothing but emptyness.
Why?
How?
He didn't know. For something that was in his control yet so out of his control, he didn't know what to do and how to. He did what he felt was fine for him. That is, keeping himself out of the unnecessary mess. Which is in a way good... For him. What about the one who's affected? Jimin doesn't know and its not like he cares either. Why should he right? He has nothing to do with the others.
He kept the paper back in the drawer, his conscience didn't let him throw the damn shit away. He came down and hurriedly left for the company. He didn't find the file he was looking for and there's no more time now. He's running late.
"Mr. Park!" Someone called, making him turn around right before he could step in the car.
Jimin rolled his eyes at the person.
"What?" He spat.
"Calm down there young man" the person said as a his lips were curved up into a obscene looking smile.
"Can you just get straight to the point?" Jimin said, annoyance hinted in his words.
"Sure. The point is, my daughter." The man said, "and you, Park Jimin are interrupting in her life."
"Really? How so?"
The man's 'not-so-friendly' smile fell when he heard Jimin laugh at his remark.
"She's happy in her world, with right people. And you are just being a nuisance. Better stay away from her."
"Right people? You call yourself her father?"
"I'm not here talk about my achievements as a father. I'm just telling you to stay away from my daughter. You're doing more harm than any good in her life."
"Says the one who brought her here in the first place." Jimin clicked his tongue in disgust.
"Zia doesn't need you"
"Of course she doesn't need me. In fact she doesn't need anyone to protect her. She's strong enough to fight all of you and still rise high."
"You be-"
"Get lost before I do something I regret." Jimin warned the man, "I don't have tine for your bullshits."
Jimin glared at the man one last time before getting in his car and driving away. The man stood there, watching his car disappear in the roads.
Jimin exhaled sharply while running his fingers through his hair. The car halted out of the blue as he saw an old man crossing the road. Jimin banged his hand harshly on the steering wheel while cursing out loud.
That man has seriously gotten him mad. But its fine. Zia is the only person he loves and trusts with all his heart. And never in the world will he ever tolerate anyone talking shit about her.
"Darn it! Move!" He shouted, throwing daggers at the white Hyundai Grandeur ahead of him. The traffic was getting on his nerves now.
As if his reflection in the rear mirror knocked some sense into him, Jimin sighed and rested his head back, closing his eyes.
He was just trying to piss me off.
No one's taking Zia away from me.
Its okay, I'm okay.
And he opened his eyes. His self, calmer than before. In a matter of minutes the cars started moving. The traffic is clear. Thank God.
