Chapter 13
...
"One of Crimson's well known model, Kim Zia has been involved in a photo scandal."
"There are pictures of Kim Zia thrashing on the internet. Is this the truth behind Crimson's closed doors?"
"What will Crimson do to recover their worldwide reputation?"
The man laughed as he switched off the television. Everything has been going exactly how he wanted.
"Aren't I smart?" He looked at his reflection on the blank TV screen, praising himself to have come up with such a great plan.
He pulled out a phone from the drawer of his desk and started to type something- a message on it.
Hey! Did you see that? Its all over the news. I hope you feel good. It took a lot of effort for me to do everything. But its worth it. I mean who wouldn't wanna see such beautiful faces in trouble right? Well I enjoy it a lot. Kim Zia, she has nothing to do with my motive. At last I'll leave her alone. But she does have things to do with the people I'm planning on hitting hard for their deeds. Well, anyways try to take the pictures down. Its not that hard. I've been easy on you this time.
He saved the message.. And waited for the right time to send it to the two people, he sat leaning back and his legs on the desk top. He switched on the television again, enjoying his work.
Of course he's smart. Targeting so many people at the same time.
First, Jeon Jungkook and Park Jimin, they wouldn't tolerate anyone harming Zia in any way.
Second, Kang, he wouldn't be able to survive any damage to Crimson's reputation.
Third, Min Yoongi, he would know who he's playing with this time.
Fourth, Kim SeokJin, he wouldn't like seeing his brother sad, since Taehyung is head over heels for that girl and he'd be defenitely affected by this.
The man smirked at the news constantly being played on every channel. 'Hot Topic'.
-----------
"Zia!" Jungkook called impatiently gripping on his phone after ending a call.
"What?" She responded heading out of her room.
"Did you see that?" He asked immediately on the sight of her.
"See what?" She looked at him confused, not knowing what he's saying.
Jungkook grabbed her arm and pulled her back inside her room, closing the door behind them. She gave him a disgusted look.
"What are yo-"
"This." He showed his phone to her.
Inappropriate pictures of her were all over the internet. People made comments about them, that disgusted her. Warm tears formed in her eyes. She slowly held the phone, observing the pictures closely. A frown crept on her face while she pointed at the screen,
"This...this is-"
"I know, this is not you." Jungkook said in a soft voice.
"I... Jungkook.." she couldn't speak. A tear slid down her cheek.
Her feet unconsciously stepped back. But Jungkook was fast enough to hold her, or else she'll collapse. She'll break.
"I've asked my men to take the pictures down. Don't worry." He said rubbing her back.
--------
"What the hell is that?" Jimin gasped as he came across the news.
He couldn't believe his eyes. Is this true? How?
One thing that he knows is, that if this is true Zia would be devastated. And Kang, he'd be the one to blame her.
Jimin hurriedly grabbed his phone, dialling Zia's number. He was fuming a with anger directed to the one person who did this.
"Jimin.." she whimpered with a shaky breath.
"Hey shh. Its going to be fine. I'm coming." He assured.
He heard some shuffling sounds before it became clear and a voice entered his ears,
"Jimin, this is Jungkook." He heard him say, "Its better if you don't come here. The matter is still very sensitive and we don't want anymore rumors to add, do we?"
Jungkook's got a point. If the media caught Jimin meeting Zia, it would create more trouble than any good.
"-and don't worry about Zia, I'm here. I'll take care of her." Jungkook added.
"Fine. Call me if you need any help. I'll see what I can do." Jimin said.
----------
"Taehyung!" SeokJin called.
He came down looking at his brother.
"Did see the news?" He asked.
"Yeah I saw. I don't understand what's happening and how." Taehyung said.
"She must be so disturbed." SeokJin said, sitting next to Taehyung. He nodded.
"Can I help her hyung?" Taehyung asked.
SeokJin thought for a second before answering,
"I don't think so. I'm sure Jungkook and Kang's other staff would be working on it." He said.
"But hyung I can't sit here like this. The news, that's fake! She's not like that. I know her." Taehyung sounded restless. As if someone was pulling him apart peice by peice. That's when SeokJin knew Taehyung had sincere feelings for Zia.
----------
Yoongi was observing the pictures carefully, they were definitely edited, he knew. But who did? Was the question.
He tried hard to think of few names who could've done such a thing. Why would anyone do this?
The answer Yoongi's mind gave was,
First, out of jealousy. Crimson's reputation is no joke. And there are many other companies who'd want to be successful. So why not destroying Crimson?.
Second, for revenge. The person might've been harmed in some way in the past and is now seeking revenge.
Third, out of fear. The person who did this was forced by someone else. And that someone else can again have his/her own motives.
-----------
"Jungkook." Zia called in a low voice.
"Hmm?" He responded, keeping his phone away.
"Mom.." she almost whispered, looking at her phone.
Kang and Zia's parents have been continuously trying to contact her. But she didn't have courage to answer. They'd mad at her. She had somehow managed to ignore them for the last five hours since they became aware of the news. But she knows if she doesn't answer, Kang won't hesitate to come here, and that's not something Zia would like.
Jungkook shifted next to her, taking her phone.
"Do you wanna talk?" He asked. Although he knew the answer.
She shook her head, "then don't answer." He said softly, taking her hand in his.
"Even if you talk to them, don't listen to whatever they say. Its not your fault." He said.
And after years, she hugged him. Like genuinely hugged him. He smiled and patted her back. This is the Zia he had known initially. Her parents, Kang and his filthy contract forced her to change. But he knew this Zia was still there. She was protecting this side of her from everyone who she knew would cause harm.
Zia too had known Jungkook as a different person when they first met. He was far from being an arrogant businessman. Where the things, the Crimson was starting. But as time passed and more secrets were revealed, Zia had grown this incompatible hate for him.
Sure she hated him, but a part of her always wanted to believe that he was the same Jungkook from before, the same Jungkook she used to be friends with, the one with whom she had endless talks and bickerings. No matter how much she tries and what she says, there's no way she ever managed to convince herself that she hates Jungkook.
Yeah, she doesn't like him, but she doesn't hate him either. People say its nearly impossible for a person to hate someone who they once loved. She just too stubborn to admit it. And same goes for Jungkook.
The ringing sound of her phone startled her back to reality. She closed her eyes, a wave of anxiety filled her body at the thought of Kang's anger. When on taking her phone, she felt her body relax at the name Jimin,
"Jim-" She answered but-
"Zi, are you okay? Is that Jeon guy there with you? Did you talk to Kang? I swear if he said anything shitty I'll end up punching him." Jimin bursted out.
"Hey, calm down." She said.
Something about the way Jimin started ranting on the phone made her laugh. Jimin went silent on the line, listening to her angelic voice. While Jungkook smiled at the girl being finally a little eased.
"I'm okay, Jeon is here. And no, I didn't talk to Kang. He was calling- not only him, mom and dad too. But I didn't answer." She told, her voice slowly disappearing at the last.
"Good. Don't listen to whatever they have to say." Jimin said softly.
She just hummed in response. What else can she say. After a few minutes of Jimin helping her calm her mind she hung up. Jungkook was again emersed in his phone. Probably texting someone. Then he kept his phone on the side and turned to look at Zia.
"We've taken the pictures down." He told her.
The girl stayed silent and looked down. She was supposed to be happy that the pictures have finally been deted and the scandals will be over soon. But the constantly building anxiety made her mind wander somewhere that wasn't and shouldn't be true.
Jungkook heaved a deep sigh before pulling her close to him. His gentle that was being helpful for Zia just a few moments ago, now felt disheveled. He noticed how her body tensed suddenly.
"Zia are y-"
"No" she shook her head vigorously, with tears welling in her eyes.
Jungkook couldn't understand what had caused her to behave like this. He rubbed her forearm with his palms up and down, keeping her warm and helping her calm down.
She stood up, Jungkook stared at her trying to process what she was doing. His eyes followed her figure disappear behind the bathroom door. The boy sat ready to push open the door if anything happens. He was scared what if she tries to cut herself, or what if she faints or something cuz she hasn't eaten anything. She wouldn't listen when Jungkook told her to eat.
She was disturbed. By the pictures. By the comments that were running all over the internet about her character. She stood in front of the mirror in her bathroom, staring deeply at ber reflection.
What if that's you Zia?
Someone said from inside her. She knew it wasn't her. Something like that never happened. Specially when the girl was seen taking off her clothes herself. Never. Zia's always drugged, she's not even able to move or react to anything. She just stays there like a lifeless body, she can see it happening to her but can't feel it. She wants to scream and run from there but can't do it. There's no way the girl in the pictures is Zia.
But the gurl looks like her! Her body, her hair, her face...everything. She pulled her shirt off. Now just standing in her black bra and boring into the reflection in the mirror, trying to look for any difference between the picture-girl and herself.
She turned a little to her side, not moving her eyes from the mirror. The mole, just above her waist on the right side.
A small smile appeared on her face.
That's not me...
The door opened slowly, though she didn't bother to look away from her reflection. Jungkook looked at her state, so badly wanting to hug her and make her believe that the pictures are fake. He knew it.
The mole.
"Jeon, that's not me." She said pointing at her reflection.
Jungkook nodded and stepped close to her.
"I told you, didn't I?" He spoke softly.
His hand automatically snaked around Zia's bare waist, making her melt in his touch. He stood close to her from behind. She closed her, letting the lone tear fall. Jungkook looked at her reflection.
"Why do you keep changing?" She whispered.
The boy averted his eyes and looked down. Instead of answering her question, he leaned his face down in the crook of her neck and slowly closing his eyes.
Zia's breath hitched at the close proximity. She could feel Jungkook's warm breath and his soft lips on her skin, giving her goosebumps.
"Jungk-"
"Shhh"
His hand travelled along her naked stomach pressing her body against his.
"Time and experience changes everything, love."
