Chapter 12
...
A soft smell of coffee lingered in Jimin's nostrils as he sat on the table right next to the one on the right corner of the place. His eyes only stared at the mobile screen, reading some kind of article. The waiter occasionally glanced at him, hoping he would order something. But when Jimin didn't, he assumed he was waiting for someone.
Its been more than two weeks since he came back from Osaka. He hasn't seen Zia for almost a month now. So he's sitting in the café where they used come few years ago. Its not that far from his house, just a right turn after three blocks and then down the street on the right corner.
This café has a particular scent here that no other place has. An intoxicating smell of roasted coffee beans and home like warmth was the best thing this place offered. Jimin sat waiting for Zia, on a table with two chairs. He had a black bucket hat on his head, for- only he knows what motive. His eyes aren't visible because of that.
His eyes would roam near the entrance whenever the tinging sound of the door bell was heard that suggested the entry of another customer, to check if it was Zia. He looked to his watch, its just been ten minutes. But it feels like hours to him. Something changed...with him?...about him?...because of h-
The door bell pipes again. Someone came in. Jimin lifted his head and glanced in the direction. Zia arrived.
She stopped near the counter, looking for Jimin among the people sitting there. Because of his bucket cap, he thought she won't be able to recognize him. Just as he was about to remove it, Zia waved at him. He smiled, she recognized him, and motioned for her to come over.
He stood up and greeted Zia with a warm hug.
"It feels like years meeting you!" Zia exclaimed. Jimin chuckled and nodded.
"So how are you?" She asked. "And how was Japan?"
"I'm good. What about you?" He answered, not bothering to mention about the Japan part. And Zia didn't seem to notice his smooth avoidance for the topic.
"Yeah I'm good too." She said. "Uh Did you already order?"
"Not yet. What do you wanna have?" He asked.
"Hmm, A caramel Macchiato would be nice." She said smiling at him.
Jimin smiled back. That's what she always orders. He nodded. As if the waiter was waiting for this very moment, he instantly showed up.
"May I take your order sir?" He asked politely.
"Yes, two caramel Macchiato please." Jimin said.
"Anything else sir?"
Jimin paused for a moment and glanced at Zia, a small smile appeared on his lips as he remembered something.
He turned his attention back to the waiter and nodded,
"A cheese cake."
The waiter bowed and left.
Zia looked at him with 'that-wasn't-
necessary' look. Jimin just chuckled.
"You know, I can't eat a cheese cake...?" Zia said.
"Why? You like it, don't you?" He asked.
Yes, she likes cheese cake. But Crimson needs her body and if she keeps eating everything she likes, she'll gain a lot of fat. And that's not good. Her eyes travelled down. For some reason, she couldn't look at Jimin. She was mentally thanking him for having that bucket hat covering his eyes.
"Zia" he called softly. She looked up, he removed his hat.
"I'm not allowed to." She spoke.
"Is that Kang again?" He asked. All the gentleness from his voice vanished as he mentioned Kang's name. He wasn't shouting, yet maintaining a deep voice.
Zia didn't know what to say. Of course it was Kang, but Jimin would get angry. And she don't wanna ruin their peaceful meeting after almost a month.
"C'mon let's not talk about him. We don't wanna ruin our peaceful time, do we?" She asked, hoping Jimin would listen.
Jimin sighed and nodded. She's right. There's no point in arguing about him and his rules. But something his struck his head as he thought about Zia being on a diet,
"Did you have breakfast?" He asked.
"Huh?" She sounded puzzled at the sudden questioning.
"Yes or no?" He asked more sternly this time.
"Y-yes." She managed to speak. She has to change the subject somehow. "The weather's nice today, isn't it?" She laughed, trying to hide the nervousness.
Jimin stared at her- not laughing. Seriously. Zia understood, Jimin wasn't having any of her lies.
"Uh by the way, your jacket looks nice..." She tried again. Still no change. "Aish!" She cursed herself under her breath.
Jimin sat with his arms crossed on his chest and his back leaning against the chair, while his head tilted a little to the side to get a proper look of the girl's face. Zia sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair, pushing them back. A habit she acquired from him.
"When was the last time you ate? A proper meal." He asked.
Right then, as if luck was on Zia's side today, the waiter came. She internally celebrated that she wouldn't have to answer his questions now.
"You didn't answer." He said as soon as the waiter left.
"Yesterday." She answered in a small voice.
"What time?" He asked.
No. She can't tell him that. He'd be mad if gets to know the last meal Zia had was yesterday's lunch. And a diet meal on top of that.
"At night. Yesterday's dinner." She lied. "Now stop."
Jimin sighed, "you should take care of yourself. You'll get sick if you don't eat. Please." He said, carressing her hand. Zia nodded.
"Eat this" he said sliding the plate of cheese cake towards her.
Zia stared at the plate, thinking about the large number of calories it contains. But Jimin wouldn't let her get away without eating. She sighed and took the spoon, having an internal war if she should really dig in or not.
"C'mon, what are you waiting for?" Jimin encouraged "Eat up."
"You..." Zia mumbled something before taking the first bite. The cake was delicious. She would've missed such a delicate thing because of her stupid diet. Jimin chuckled noticing the flux in her expression.
"How was Japan?" She asked, while holding a spoonful of the cake jn front of his face, waiting for him to eat.
"It was fine." He replied monotonously before quickly replacing it with a smile as he took the spoon near her mouth for her to eat.
"Why don't you eat? Its nice." She said.
Jimin shook his head, "I'm full, you can have it." He smiled.
Jimin thought about her question, 'How was Japan?' was it really fine? No. The last day he spent in Japan weighs tons on his brain. He couldn't stop thinking about it. A part of him was blaming him for what happened, and a small part of him was quiet- not wanting to dig any deeper into the matter.
"Hey, are you free today?" Zia asked pulling him out of his trans. He looked up at Zia.
"I have to go around 4. Till then I'm free. Why are you asking?" He asked taking a sip of his coffee that he almost forgot existed.
"Hmm" Zia thought for a second as she swallowed the cake in her mouth "Actually I'm free today. So I was thinking of having Zia-Jimin day...?"
Jimin couldn't contain his smile at that. Zia-Jimin day. They used to have these days earlier when they weren't this busy. And the last time the had a Zia-Jimin day was around two and half years ago.
He nodded, "Sure. Where does Zia wanna go?" He asked playfully.

Jungkook sat in his office, its been a week. A week, since Kang retired. And a week, since Jungkook became the CEO. He wanted the file of all new people that recently got the membership of Crimson. Not that surprising to see such tremendous growth in the percentage increase in Crimson's success. Thanks to Kim Zia.
Crimson, a very bright place that has a side as dark as a black hole in the outside universe. The place that offers fame to people for the cost of money and themselves. People with all kind of bad past came here, many got over their past and many fell deeper into sins, depending on the money they have.
Crimson's one of two buildings is very famous than the other one. The building that has a huge Casino on the ground floor; a Pub on the 1st and 2nd level underground; and a lot of rooms on the floors above the the ground level. This building- known as the Crimson's main building or Crimson Mains, supports all sort of dirty business, be it clearing someone's history or giving someone a new start, one night stands etc. But this information is kept confidential. Even the whole of Crimson's staff doesn't know about it.
The other building is HQ building- the headquarters where all of the document work is done. Memberships, history, money balance, records, etc. are taken care of here. Only the staff is allowed in this building. Other people can come when they have a special appointment.
Magazines and news always have a cover on Crimson. Anything about Crimson or people related to Crimson can become a news quite fast.
Jungkook has been doing several interviews in the last one week as he became the CEO at such a young age.
'How does it feel to be the CEO of one of the biggest Companys in Korea and that too in such a young age?'
This one question was asked in every interview.
Jungkook wanted to see this one name in the file that he's sure has got the membership. He went through the first file, not satisfied as he didn't find what he was looking for. Then he came to see the VIP MEMBERSHIP.
He smirked as he read the title. Sure this man's crazy for Zia. Not everyone can afford the VIP membership of Crimson. He started turning pages looking for the particular name. There, he found it,
"Kim Taehyung" Jungkook spoke to himself, the smirk never leaving his lips.
He noticed Taehyung started coming to the Mains more often. Jungkook even spotted him trying to talk to her. For Jungkook has seen, Zia is- maybe interested in Taehyung. The way they both look at each other. Also Taehyung's sincere expression whenever he talks to her makes it even more real. He had joined Crimson for Zia, that's a fact Jungkook can say.
But everytime Zia returns Taehyung's gaze with a smile or subtly holding his hand, something inside Jungkook yells at him to hold Zia and not let her go. He believes Taehyung won't hurt Zia. The love and care in his eyes is too evident. Yet Jungkook's insights tell him not to trust Taehyung.
Jungkook has noticed, everytime she talks with Taehyung, she's more relaxed. She acts more like herself around him. Then maybe he's the right one. Although Jungkook will not ignore his intuition and keep an eye on both of them, specially Taehyung. He knows what Zia has gone through.
