Chapter: 05
"Mr. Park, we're glad to have a chance to work with you. Let's meet when you arrive here." Jimin heard the voice coming from the speakers connected to his laptop.
"Sure, I'm looking forward to work with you too." He said giving a formal smile.
After a few seconds the call ended.
Jimin stared at the, now, black screen of his laptop. His 'formal smile' dropped as soon as he was the only one left, alone. Only him and his thoughts.
The black screen wasn't blank, it reflected his figure sitting on the chair. Not very clear but enough to tell it was Park Jimin. His features appeared a little blurry to him. The sharp jawline didn't look that sharp. The captivating eyes didn't look that captivating. The plumped pink lips didn't look that pink.
He didn't see a Jimin in the reflection. All he saw was, a boy looking lost but not exactly lost. A sinner but not exactly a sinner. A selfish person who wasn't exactly selfish. A boy who wants the world but doesn't really want anything exactly.
What was he looking at then?
What was true? The reflection? Or the one getting reflected?
Getting frustrated with all the questions, Jimin shut the laptop harshly. He grabbed his hair in agitation and breathed heavily. That's when his phone rang. He answered, mentally thanking the person who decided to call him at this very second.
Or else it could've been dangerous. He hated, when his body reacted to his surroundings, to his actions, to his world.
"Jimin?" The man's voice entered his ear.
"Hyung thank you so much for calling right now" he blurted out.
"Uh oh welcome. But I wanted to talk about this. Its urgent." Yoongi said "can we meet up?"
"Now?" Jimin asked checking the time....7:46pm.
"Yes now" The older told.
"Okay. where?"
"At the old mansion."
"What!?"
Jimin couldn't get what Yoongi was trying to imply by calling him there. He'd never want to go to that place ever in his life. He didn't wanted to.
"Yes Jimin, in the old mansion. Its important" Yoongi tried to sound as convincing as possible.
"But hyung-"
"Just come here. Trust me."
That was the last that Yoongi said before hanging up.
Why there? What is he trying to do?
Jimin was having this mental war in his head about, if he should go or not. But Yoongi sounded serious, and he was not the kind of person to call someone and joke about meeting at this hour.
Pushing all the thoughts aside, he grabbed his jacket and keys, leaving the house.

Zia and Jungkook had just finished an interview. They were walking out of the studio to the parking area.
The interview was for a magazine, trying to cover Zia's latest photoshoot and her contribution to Crimson's progress, and about Kang's retirement soon. After Kang, Jungkook will become the CEO. Zia was happy that Kang was retiring in a month and Jungkook was taking his place. She had this feeling that Jungkook wasn't as bad as Kang.
But Jungkook wasn't happy about being the CEO. He thought of it as a curse. Being the CEO meant he will have to deal with and raise Kang's filthy business that he hated. But Kang had brought up Jungkook for this very day. He believed Jungkook would never say no to him and run his company without any failure.
"Zia." Jungkook called.
She hummed in response, not wanting to speak. She was tired. Its been an exhausting day.
"You're going home with me." He stated not looking at her.
"No I'm not going there." She said sternly.
"I didn't ask." He said and started the car's engine.
Her jaw ticked. She didn't like that place. Even though Kang didn't live there, she wasn't very fond of that place. Maybe because Jungkook was there. Or maybe she remembered someone, every time she went there. Someone who was close to her. Someone who was like family to her.
"Jeo-.....Jungkook?" She called in a low tone.
He turned his head towards her direction. Zia would usually shout at him. But this time, she said it normally. And on top of that she called her Jungkook. Not Jeon.
"Yes?" He said moving his eyes back at the road as he drove to his house.
"...nothing." I don't wanna go there
"Okay?" He sighed.
Not sparing a single glance at each other, they finally arrived. Zia stepped out first then Jungkook came from the other side.
"Are you just gonna stand here?" He asked coldly earning a glare from Zia.
A familiar fragrance surrounded Zia as she entered the place. She was forced to call this place home. Most of the time she lived here. But sometimes she went to her parents house. She liked this place better than her parents house though.
Zia had her own apartment but she wasn't allowed to live there, alone. Kang said she'd do something stupid if she started living alone and that would affect Crimson. As her parents were out for a while, she was living in their house for the last three weeks. That house was nice, only when her parents were not there.
She breathed in deeply, taking in the familiar smell as she closed her eyes.
"Go to your room and get changed." Jungkook said and walked upstairs.
She sighed and went upstairs to her room. She observed everything about the room, checking if there were any changes or not. She doesn't like anyone making the slightest difference in her things, specially when she created the thing. Her brain still stores the memory of her 16 year old self, talking and laughing with Soojin while deciding the colour of the walls.
The walls were still beige. The queen sized bed was still there. The curtains were still white. The yellowish lamp still stood beside the bed on the sidetable. The small brown desk was still sitting near the window. The bookshelf was still present. The vase, the picture frames were still the way as they were a few weeks ago when she left- except for one. Her eyes automatically squinted as she walked over to the shelf where the picture used to be. The spot was empty.
"Natalya!" She called out for one of the maids.
Soon enough the maid appeared in front of her.
"What is this!? You know I don't like my things being touched!!" Zia shouted at her.
Natalya stood there confused as she couldn't understand what made Zia so angry.
"Sorry ma'am. But I don't know what you're talking about." She said looking down, making sure her tone of voice didn't make Zia more furious.
"Are you seriously this dumb!? Where the hell did the photo frame go!??" Zia snapped at her while pointing at the empty spot on the shelf.
That's when it hit Natalya....'that frame'
"I'm...really sorry ma'am..its uh-"
"What's wrong with you!?" Zia shouted again.
...
Jungkook was in his room when he heard sudden yelling. He hurriedly left his room and went near Zia's.
To his surprise, a few maids were standing outside and one was in the room, with Zia.
"What's happening?" He asked.
"Sir, we don't know. Zia madam just called for Natalya and started yelling at her." One of the maids explained.
A frown crept on his face, he nodded and told them to go and do their work. They did as they were told.
Jungkook entered the room since the door wasn't closed.
"What's wrong with you!?" He heard Zia shout.
"Zia, calm down." He said. He wouldn't shout back at her, when there's a third person.
"What happened?" He asked.
Zia's glare shifted from Natalya to Jungkook. Jungkook knew she'd yell at him right now. So the best option was to not let her speak. He wouldn't want his reputation to be ruined like this.
"Natalya, explain." He ordered while maintaining a glare at her.
"Sir, uh...the photo frame broke while...cleaning last week. And-" Natalya said but before she explained any further Jungkook inturrepted her.
"That's enough. Leave now." He commanded sternly.
"Sir...but-" Natalya was on the verge of tears and on the verge of losing her job.
"Do I need to repeat myself?" He said completely pissed.
"Sir-"
"LEAVE! and no need to come back." He said gritting his teeth as he motioned his hand towards the door.
A tear escaped Natalya's eyes. She walked out with her head hanging low.
Jungkook closed the door and turned to Zia. Before he said anything else, he realised which frame the maid was talking about as his eyes landed on the shelf.
But that didn't lessen his anger.
Taking his eyes off from the shelf, he established an intimidating stare at Zia.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked taking predatory steps towards her.
"What's wrong with me!? Are you serious? You think something is wrong with me?" She yelled at him.
"Don't you raise your voice at me" He warned.
Within the next moment Jungkook was standing right in front of Zia. None of them ready to take a single step back, staring into each other's souls. Just Jungkook's gaze was more intimidating.
"You weren't like this." He whispered, bringing himself closer to her.
With no prior warning, the vase that once was placed near the bed flew across the room and shattered into a million peices as it smashed into the wall.
Jungkook looked at the, now broken vase and then back at Zia. His muscles tightened, he was getting mad now.
"I was always like this!!" She shouted at him. "You never knew me Jeon."
The truth was, he always knew her. He knew this side of her will someday be shown. Not to mention, he wasn't witnessing this for the first time.
"Zia. I told you not to raise your voice." He sounded more threatening this time.
She grabbed the alarm clock and threw it harshly on the floor near Jungkook's feet. A few more things got thrown by her as she was losing her mind. Jungkook had had enough.
"I don't give a shit about y-"
"..."
Silence fell in the room. Zia stood there holding her cheek. The stinging sensation ran all over her body from her cheek. Jungkook looked at his hand.
What did you do Jungkook? How can you slap her?
A voice from his head started echoing in his ears.
"I hate you Jeon." She whispered.
He saw her glassy eyes. Something in his chest ached as he saw her slowly losing balance and sitting down on the bed. Unconsciously, he crouched to her level in front of her.
He wanted to say...something atleast. But his -so big ego- didn't let him say anything.
It was her fault. She made me angry. She was the one yelling unnecessarily and throwing stuff.
"Zia I-"
"Leave." She said sternly.
"What?" He looked at her confused.
"I said Leave! Get out." She pushed him away.
Jungkook exhaled heavily in frustration and left her room, slamming the door behind her.
