Chapter: 03
...
"His name is Han-jae, Song Han-jae."
"Han-jae" Jimin repeated almost like a whisper, his eyes were full of anger but more than that was confusion. Confusion of how suddenly a person that they never heard of popped up into their story.
"So you're saying everything was going fine and now suddenly a guy appears out of nowhere who, according to you, knows what happened?" Jimin huffed at the older male. "Its been almost two years. How come this person didn't show up any earlier?" He asked.
The tension could be sensed clearly in the atmosphere. He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"I know its strange but we gotta do something about him." The person said. His lips were pressed into a thin line while a crease appeared between his brows. The eyes were dwelling into the table that rested between the two males thinking deeply of what could be done. While Jimin's eyes never left the view of the older one's face, eager to hear a solution from him.
"Yoongi hyung, what do we do?" He asked becoming impatient.
"Jimin listen, don't worry too much okay? We'll do something. I won't let anyone hurt you or Zia." Yoongi assured.
"But how? How hyung? This is so complicated." Jimin said, his hands balling up into fists.
Yoongi sighed at the sight of the younger one being so disturbed. His scrunched eyebrows turned back to normal, he nodded his head as if reconsidering his own thoughts.
"We either have to get him on our side, which I guess is a pretty close to being impossible, or..." Yoongi silenced his words for a moment. His eyes locked with Jimin, sending a hint of something irrelevant "we have to completely get him out of our way." Yoongi finally completed.
Jimin understood what his hyung meant by 'completely get him out of our way'. He sighed and placed his hands on the table.
"...and Don't tell Zia about it. She'll get stressed." He said making Jimin nod.
"I should get going now." Jimin said. Yoongi nodded and they both stood up. "And once again thanks for everything hyung." He thanked Yoongi and went in for a brotherly hug, which Yoongi returned gladly.
---------
"I want this man right in my office. Do anything you want, just make sure you get him alive." Yoongi ordered one of his men, giving him the file which contained information about the man.
"Song Han-jae." The tall, silver haired man said with an evil smirk written on his face. "Don't worry Yoongi, I'm always up for such things."
"I know. That's why I'm trusting you with this. You're an asset, with smart and high-tech brain, a personality that people won't doubt and most importantly my trusted member." Yoongi said as he smirked back.
"Thanks. I'll get to work now I guess?" The tall guy said.
"Yeah, but Namjoon...be careful. I can't take any chances, this is very important." Yoongi warned.
"Don't worry I got this." Namjoon assured the elder one.
And with that, Namjoon left Yoongi sitting alone in his office. Yoongi sighed and rested back against the chair. Each second felt like a huge weight was dropping on his shoulders. He closed his eyes and hoped that Namjoon won't fail. There's no chance he'd fail unless there is someone else who wants to get that Han-jae guy before Yoongi.
There's nothing that he can do right now other than hoping for the best.
But that doesn't mean he can sit in his office, doing nothing. He decided to go and check some things on his own. He thought of a place that can, maybe help him. The place where it happened almost two years ago. The incident that still exists as a nightmare in Jimin and Zia's life.
He stood up from his seat and walked out of his office through the glass door. He won't go there now, but soon.
Yoongi was well aware of the fact that there was more to this case. Money was something that Yoongi knew could do all sort of work in the world. Being the successful lawyer that he is, made things even more easier. Nobody wants a powerful lawyer to be after them, do they?
He was taught from a young age that if he had money, he can posses anything. Nothing can dismay him. But little was he told that this money was itself greater than any dismay. If anything, he understood as he grew up was that money is the most cruel thing. People first struggle to get money and when they have money, they struggle to get peace.
'When you can buy people with money to get what you want, that's when you know you're successful.'
That's what his dad told him. He was disgusted by his dad. If anyone asks why Min Yoongi is heartless, none other than his dad is responsible for this. He always taught him about the power of money and fame. But that wasn't what a young boy wanted. As a little child, Yoongi had nothing to with money, fame, power. All he wanted was love and care, which he never got from his dad. His dad used him for his own motives which according to him were golden. But for Yoongi, they were a dark shade of black that engulfed his whole life. Only if he knew his dad was raising him to become this, Only if he wasn't so naive, Only if he had someone to tell him the difference between good and bad, then he wouldn't be like this. He wouldn't be this merciless, this heartless and this stubborn to attain what he wants.
He's now used to getting his work done one way or the other, doesn't really matter. But is he doing right? Doesn't he feel bad for others? Or does his heart ever tell him not to go the other way? Does he even feel?
The answers are not good at all. But he knows how to accept them.
He knows he's not doing right.
He doesn't feel bad for others. Why would he? When the others never cared for him.
His heart sure tells him not to go the cruel way. But he knows what the world deserves. He knows how to control his heart.
And, Yes he does feels. He has feelings, just like any other person on earth. The only difference is, he feels for some specific people.
*Ring* *ring*
Yoongi was interrupted by his phone ringing. Jimin
"Hyung?" Jimin spoke as soon as Yoongi answered the call.
"Yes?"
"Hyung, I have a conference in Japan in two days. I need to leave Korea for almost a week..."
"Can you maybe cancel it? Or atleast postpone it? You know, its not the best time for you to go anywhere."
"I know hyung, but they're saying its important and I need to go."
"Well then okay. Call me if you need any help."
"Yeah sure. But what about Zia?" Jimin voiced after a moment of silence. Yoongi sighed.
"Don't worry I'm here and that Jeon guy is here too right?"
"He is. But you know her. She won't listen to anybody. And then I'm afraid Kang might force her to do some shitty things."
Yoongi evidently figured the concern in the boys tone. He was able to read Jimin like an open book.
"Look Jimin, there's nothing you can do about it. She's been tackling with all this for quite a long time now."
"Hmm, but I was there with her all this time."
"Listen to me and don't worry. Just try to come back as soon as possible."
"...okay"
The line went silent for a while. They both wanted to change the present and the past. But there's nothing that can be done. Jimin has to go and Zia has to stay on her own for a while.
"Hmm bye" Yoongi said as there's nothing left to talk now.
"Bye hyung" Jimin said before hanging up.
Yoongi sighed and slid his phone back in his pocket. His head rested back and eyes closed, merely to relieve some stress.
"I just hope Namjoon does his work." He mumbled to himself.
